Shami walked slowly within the Demon Realm.
Despite the clear day, with an endless blue sky and bright sunshine, the temperature around had dropped, and each passing breeze carried the breath of early winter.
On the ground of the Demon Realm, fine snow had begun to fall on the distant mountains, and the northern dense forests were occasionally shrouded in drizzle.
Yet, in the southern plains region, the Demon Realm remained vibrant.
What the Demon Realm lacked least was lakes and rivers.
Most parts of the Demon Realm consisted of plains and hills. On the flat hills and plains, lakes were embedded like blue jewels, and rivers flowed like ribbons.
This provided excellent developnt space for the Fishman Race.
Shami slowly walked towards the Fishn’s territory.
Demon Realm. Northwest side. Fishman Lake.
When Shami arrived at the crystalline-clear large lake, he saw signs around the lake written in Fishman language: [Please Do Not Litter].
Around the lake, many houses where the Fishn lived could be seen, built from water plants from the lake and surrounding tree branches.
Fishn are amphibious magical creatures that can survive on land and in lakes. Most of the ti they live in the lake, but there are tis when they co ashore.
Always going into the water and not coming ashore can be exhausting.
Shami observed the number of Fishn houses around, roughly about a hundred.
"Looks like Jelly is slacking off again. If this keeps up, I’ll rena him Friday and put him through so hard labor transformation."
Shami muttered to himself.
Just then, the lake surface rippled, and a red Fishman slowly walked out of the water.
The Fishman was about one ter tall, with spines on its back, the color of the long sharp spines was as bright as maple leaves, muscles showing under the scales-covered skin, water droplets flowing down the scales, the split mouth revealing sharp teeth, fins on the back of its arms and legs for balance.
At a glance, the whole Fishman looked neither like a fish nor like a person, evoking a sense of dissonance akin to having drunk too much magic crystal radiation water.
But this was the Fishman’s true appearance; Fishn are different from rmaids, if a Fishman doesn’t look frightening, then it wouldn’t be the notorious evil creature renowned for its ferocity!
The goal was that a Fishman poking its head out of lake water at night could scare an Adventurer!
Shami nodded in understanding, looking at the red Fishman before him.
Recently, people have often said he’s into exotic girls, though he himself wasn’t sure whether his preferences were truly worsening.
Anyway, the red Fishman’s big eyes were bright and clean, and after looking for a while, Shami found them pretty pleasing.
"Aowu wu!"
Upon seeing Shami, the red Fishman ran over affectionately.
Shami quickly dodged aside.
"Being friendly is good, but getting poked by those spines on your back would really hurt."
Since the Fishman’s cries were generally like this, Shami directly nad the Fishman before him Aowu.
Through the Demon King’s Perception, Shami quickly gleaned the red Fishman’s level information.
[Na: Aowu]
[Race: Magic Race · Ordinary Creature · Fishman Race]
[Life Value: Full]
[Status: Normal]
[Level: 25]
Fishn in levels 1 to 10 are in piranha form.
Currently, the red Fishman had reached Level 25, having evolved from the piranha stage to the normal Fishman stage, now in typical Fishman form.
Although still several levels short of the alienation at level 30, Shami had already assud Aowu to be the leader of the Fishman Race.
The two of them were partners who had triumphantly defeated the Great Mage of Fata!
"Aowu, it’s ti to let see how you’ve been developing."
Aowu imdiately led Shami to the lakeside, where Shami noticed a fully equipped fishing platform.
"Is this specially prepared for ?"
Aowu nodded.
Feeling lonely, Shami glanced up at the sky, unable to help but sigh.
"But I have no opponents anymore, and this lake’s all your fish. Just imagining fishing fake fish and matching fake competitions alone feels utterly desolate."
The young Demon King hadn’t realized that soon this place would beco his haven to escape the juicing attempts by several Demon Envoy maidens.
The red Fishman jumped into the lake; after so summoning within, many bubbles appeared on the lake surface, and about a hundred Fishn heads erged from the water, big eyes fixedly staring at Shami.
Two-thirds were piranha stage Fishn, and the remainder were evolved normal-form Fishn.
"Quite a decent scale already."
Shami nodded in satisfaction, then looked more closely, frowning slightly.
Within the Fishn, he seed to notice so peculiar species.
"That’s definitely an electric eel, right? And that nearly three-ter-long shark! Can sharks really adapt to freshwater lakes?!"
Aowu let out a proud cry.
These were creatures he found while swimming along rivers around the Demon Realm, discovering novel species in different rivers, lakes, and bringing them back. They were placed in specialized Fishman cultivation tanks (water pools infected by magic crystal debris) to be nurtured, eventually possessing the potential to transform into mbers of the Fishman Race, then mutating into Fishn.
This was the source of the first generation of Fishn.
The second generation of Fishn could breed between species.
"Even if you’re a Darwinian explorer Fishman, fond of collecting various fish friends, don’t turn such creatures into Fishn! From any angle, they’re beyond the fish category!"
Shami tried to understand but ultimately couldn’t resist pointing to the turtle slowly walking on the shore with spiked protrusions growing from its gray-skinned shell.
