He had originally had so other speculations regarding Kael's identity, but everything changed in an instant when Dr. Osborne took out that banner from his backpack.
"Unyielding Banner???"
Dr. Osborne stared blankly at the flag, suddenly feeling a tremble in his body.
"Why would it be the Unyielding Banner... No, how could it be the Unyielding Banner?"
Speaking in an indifferent tone, Kael said, "What's so impossible about that, Dr. Osborne? We are back. With your discernnt, you should be able to tell whether this Unyielding Banner is a counterfeit or not, right?"
"Good, very good! It's good that you are back, it's good. We haven't received any news from you for a long ti, I thought... I thought..."
"Now do you believe I'm not just so rat that leapt out of the sewer?"
There was a hint of teasing in Kael's tone, but his expression quickly turned serious again as he said to Dr. Osborne:
"Dr. Osborne, our situation is very dangerous now. There will soon be unrest within Wandong City."
"Unrest?"
"Yes, unrest. Our chairman, Mr. Ryan O'Malanchi, indeed has a 'fine son,' doesn't he?" Kael said with a deep aning.
Dr. Osborne's eyelid twitched subconsciously, always feeling that he would hear sothing mind-blowing next: "Felix? What has he done?"
As it turned out, the next thing Kael ntioned made Dr. Osborne almost spit blood.
"How long has Chairman Ryan not paid attention to his own son?" Kael asked curiously.
"It's been quite a while. This past year, huge problems surfaced both inside and outside of Wandong City, and many tis, by the end of the day, Chairman Ryan doesn't even go ho," Dr. Osborne honestly said.
"We, the Twilight Guard Army, received so unsettling news internally. During this period, the Surrender Faction sent quite a few youngsters to et with that Felix.
Just yesterday, the Surrender Faction incited the young people to demonstrate in the streets and then they were dispersed by the city Guard Team. Have you heard about this incident?"
This event occurred the day before Kael regained his mory in the Dungeon, belonging to an unalterable background of the "Remnants of the Empire" Dungeon.
Dr. Osborne frowned and said in a low voice, "The city Guard Team just did their job, there's nothing wrong with that, right?"
"Of course, there's nothing wrong with fulfilling their duties, but young people, full of vigor, might not think so.
'We could have been peaceful,'
'The Alliance isn't as frightening as it seems'!
'Youth lasts but a few years, and we've been besieged by multiple countries for two years'!
'Don't be afraid of being surrounded by other countries, we can just beg for peace'!
'The goblin council is spreading anxiety'!
'Please return confidence to the people of Wandong City'!
'Rember those goblins who charged through the gates of Wandong City with their bodies.'
...
You see, amidst your busy schedule you should pay so attention to these young ones put in the spotlight by the council's Surrender Faction. Do you know that group has already started inciting these young goblins to vandalize and loot in Wandong City?"
Dr. Osborne slamd his hand on the table, angrily saying, "They dare? Isn't this just causing us trouble?"
Kael shook his head and said, "But Felix believed them. He plans to lead the charge into the central lab, behead Dr. Zack, to offer as a concession to the Alliance.
Dr. Osborne, you should know, given Felix's identity, the Guardians of the central lab might not dare to stop him. Judging by the ti, he should have almost reached the other lab by now."
Dr. Osborne's complexion turned from pale to ashen. He stood up furiously, ready to send soone to intervene imdiately, but Kael stopped him:
"Dr. Osborne, don't get agitated. Since we, the Twilight Guard Army, have already received the news, we won't let him proceed like this. Rest assured...
Given Felix's age, he's unlikely to outmatch the people we've sent."
Dr. Osborne's expression eased a bit, but he did not sit down imdiately. Instead, he chose a more tactful phrase, saying:
"Captain Kael, I'm still worried that sothing might go wrong at the scene. I'll send soone to support the situation, just give a mont."
With that, he turned and hurried away.
Kael shook his head, aware that although Dr. Osborne had temporarily beco an ally due to the Unyielding Banner, he still didn't quite trust the arrangents of his allies and wanted to send his own people to verify the situation.
If the people Kael sent failed to hold their ground, or more sinisterly, if they didn't actually send anyone to support the central lab, by that ti, Osborne would regret it for the rest of his life.
...
Watching Dr. Osborne leave to arrange his forces, Kael went over the scenario in his mind again, finally determining the reason why Wandong City would collapse so quickly.
"The Alliance... truly a group of cautious opponents."
Kael could be one hundred percent certain, the reason Dr. Zack had died in the original tiline was due to the combined efforts of the Alliance, the Surrender Faction, and the deluded youth of Wandong City.
Actually, combining the information from players and what he had heard from Bishop Tetu, Kael could almost reconstruct the downfall of Wandong City in the original tiline.
