It wasn’t long after I had sat down when I heard the player beside cursing and swearing:

"Colorful Paper, you scoundrel of a rchant, where did you find such a skilled cutter? This wolf at is so thin it’s almost see-through!"

"What’s the problem, Yi An? You don’t have to buy it if you don’t like it. No need to complain. Isn’t Demon Crystal ant to be spent on things like this?" Suddenly, a big head popped out from the busy shop, cursing back at the player.

"Damn it, you’ve got to give a discount or else don’t think of coming to for the best services next ti I go to the night market!"

"Who needs it, huh? Don’t you know I’ve been broke recently? I don’t have extra money to lavish on a raggedy miss."

"So that’s why you’re selling ran at such a high price!"

"Got a problem with that?"

"Even if I were nailed inside a coffin, I would still shout out that you’re a scoundrel of a rchant!"

"Boss Dan, soone’s saying you cut the at too thin!" the player known as Cool Colored Paper cried out loudly.

Amid Kael’s surprised expression, he actually saw his own Knight, Dan, erging from the small gate of the stall.

"Hmm, Lord Kael, Miss Elanna, when did you two get here? I didn’t even know you were around!"

With his sharp gaze, Dan imdiately spotted Kael and Elanna sitting near his stall.

The two exchanged a smile, and Elanna teased, "Mr. Dan, aren’t you taking the day off? Why have you co to run a stall with the players?"

Dan chuckled and said, "Can’t help it, had to show this guy so respect. He’s a subordinate I took on during a patrol, has a good personality, and so skills to boot.

When he was with us on patrol, he could whip up decent als anyti with just a single pot. I heard it’s a common technique from their side called, um…"

"Caralizing sugar, Boss Dan, it’s called caralizing sugar! I’ve told you several tis, it’s the basic skill!" Cool Colored Paper stuck his head out again to shout a reminder.

"Ah, right, right, caralizing sugar it is."

Kael’s face darkened as he realized that the communication between the Rangers and the players was much more frequent than he had expected because of his arrival.

But then again, it made sense. If Kael, as a Lord, didn’t reject the Undead, his subordinates were even less likely to do so.

This was a direct reflection of the adage "As above, so below."

Damn it, with the players’ rowdiness, they weren’t going to lead his Rangers astray, were they?!

Of course, Kael didn’t stop his Knight’s mischief. Instead, he smiled and said:

"Then today, let have a taste of your craft."

"Of course, Lord Kael! Today, let show you the pride of our squad’s superb al!"

Dan turned and walked back to the stall and soon ca out with two wooden bowls, which he set down in front of them, saying:

"Please enjoy!"

Upon looking at his serving, Kael joked, "Why do I feel like the portion in my bowl is sowhat different from what the other players got?"

Dan raised a thumbs up, flashing a silvery smile, and said, "Of course, the serving for Lord Kael has to be the best!"

Players nearby exclaid admiration, thinking that this Knight really knows how to curry favour, going straight for Brother Kael’s arm without hesitation; perhaps it’s no wonder he’s known as Brother Kael’s loyal Knight?

Loved it, loved it!

Kael, however, looked at the enormous wooden bowl with the surprisingly large head size, topped with 8 hand-made atballs floating at the top, slices of neatly arranged ats placed behind them, and a few fish fillets made from so kind of fish at, which took up the rest of the space on the soup’s surface.

Without a doubt, this was a mammoth bowl of ran that could fill a person up on at alone.

"I actually can’t finish this much," Kael said, looking at Dan, "You know that. My health wasn’t good before, and though it has improved quite a bit, my appetite hasn’t changed much."

After all, he wasn’t one of those fighters who needed to eat a lot to et their daily exercise needs. Compared to them, a Mage’s food consumption was relatively low.

Moreover, considering his frail health in the earlier years, even though his body had recovered a lot, it would probably still take a long ti for his appetite to catch up.

Dan said very seriously, "It’s okay, then just eat a little more than usual, just like our young lads do.

They didn’t eat much before either, but as they trained more, they gradually got used to consuming more food every day, and their bodies grew healthier."

Kael paused for a mont, looking at the genuine smile on the face of this infrequently seen Knight, and suddenly understood why Dan, who knew he couldn’t eat so much, would still serve up nearly double the amount he could finish.

He smiled and said to Elanna, "Then Elanna and I won’t be shy."

After saying this, he began to eat the ran heartily, and seeing Kael eat well, Dan’s expression brightened considerably.

Kael inwardly sighed, considering the four Knights his father had left him, each with their own individual personalities.

If the young Jonathan thought only of how to serve his Lord more faithfully, then the elder Barry preferred to leave the future entirely in the Lord’s hands, simply carrying out Kael’s plans with firm resolve.

The other two Knights, Willfo and Dan, were about the sa age.

Maybe due to years of guarding the town, Willfo was more cautious in nature, serving not so much the Lord as the duty itself... even though the duty could be altered by the Lord’s decision.

Dan was a special case.

Perhaps because he didn’t stay in one place for long, his interactions with Kael were indeed sparse. But that didn’t an their relationship was poor.

The relationships among n were different from those among won.

Girls might call each other best friends shortly after eting, but whether they truly beco best friends depends more on the test of ti.

But when actual help is needed, these guys wouldn’t necessarily stand by; they might even do things so extraordinary you wouldn’t believe it.

Kael knew that Dan was actually the earliest to make contact with him.

He seed to rember that back when he first arrived in the territory with his father, the main person in charge of the town’s defense was Dan. In his mory, this bearded uncle especially liked to lift him up high in his arms.

Perhaps because of those past experiences, even after seeing Kael grown up, Dan’s feelings for him were more like those of an old nanny—caring like an elder.

Sotis it might be a bit troubling, but... it wasn’t bad!

He smiled and kept eating the ran until he really couldn’t take another bite. Then he started placing the at pieces from the top into Elanna’s barely touched bowl and tucked her red hair behind her ear, saying:

"Go ahead and eat, we had an agreent, didn’t we? In front of , you can be the most authentic version of yourself."
