I don't mind taking action directly against the Church people, killing a few Divine Favored doesn't matter. My daughter is gone, and even if I go a bit crazy, no matter how many people from the Church die, they can only remain silent.
But this isn't the reason I chose to shelter you."
Kael was montarily surprised. The Caesar Governor's aning seed sowhat different from what he had just assud.
Originally, he thought Caesar was unwilling to take this risk, and even wanted to remain silent about his daughter's death.
This shocked him, as the governor, known in his past life for decisiveness and swift action, could still remain calm in such a situation.
Unexpectedly…
His aning was actually that he didn't intend to hide this anger, and didn't mind expressing it directly. What he really rejected was Kael's words about "intimidating the Holy Hall and directly interfering with the sches against Kael."
No... That's not right.
A flash of insight crossed his mind, and looking at the indifferent face of the middle-aged man projected inside the Mage Tower, he pondered for a mont and said:
"I am a citizen of the Yibel Federation Duchy."
The Caesar Governor shook his head, saying: "That's the reason I set legal provisions to protect you, the reason I keep the war outside the national border, but not the reason to protect you unconditionally."
Kael's eyes lit up, seemingly understanding the governor's aning, then he said again: "I am the main candidate for the next Duke of Engilance Duchy. With sufficient strength, I can free the Lion Heart Chamber. Give so ti, I can provide adequate protection for the Engilance Duchy."
Kael began to test the governor's bottom line.
The Caesar Governor shook his head once more, saying: "That's the Lion Heart Chamber's reason to protect you, the reason I let the Tulip Chamber of Comrce greatly support you, the reason we can provide you with so valuable resources for advancent and et so of your not-so-excessive demands, but not the reason to protect you unconditionally."
Kael nodded, saying again: "The Mage Net plan needs to continue, requiring a leader who can support its ongoing expansion, and I am the best fit for that role.
Moreover, if the initial initiators of the Floating City plan fail, the ensuing chain reaction might interfere with our major plans."
The Caesar Governor's face showed a aningful smile.
Interesting, the Mage Net plan first, then the Floating City plan. Though he had so speculation initially, now he felt closer to uncovering the truth Kael hides.
He nodded, saying: "This is the reason the governor is willing to protect you. For the future of the Yibel Federation, I won't let them erase those who can decide the hope of future rise."
His gaze returned to Kael, carrying a faint expectation, but indeed gave a promise to protect Kael.
Yet Kael bowed his head, carefully pondering the governor's words with an even more serious expression:
"I adopted the na Cedric from Sister Olivia, and I can feel her life's final unwillingness, towards you, towards herself, and towards those lofty beings.
As a brother, as a friend, as Elanna's fiancé, as a Human, I am very angry about such results.
I swear by the na Kael.D.Helois.Cedric that I will snap the necks of those cowards."
The Caesar Governor stood up, and even with just that action, his imposing figure partially obscured the light behind him. He slowly moved to the front of the Communication Crystal, bending down, and a faint bloodshot could be seen in his eye sockets.
His voice deepened a bit, creating an imnsely oppressive atmosphere as he spoke:
"Clearly rember your current status, you are the bearer of my poor daughter's na, the blood of Cedric flows through you now, you are currently the youngest son of the Cedric Family. This is the reason why Caesar chooses to intervene."
Kael nodded, saying: "I understand your aning."
"Hmm, let handle the matters ahead."
Caesar's footsteps seed sowhat heavy. Then suddenly he rembered sothing and said:
"Tomorrow, I am going to Engilance Royal Capital, co to accompany ."
Kael nodded slightly, replying: "Yes."
...
Soon, the Communication Crystal was disconnected.
Kael took a deep breath, let out a long sigh, saying: "Such terrifying pressure, is this what it ans to be the number one Human in this era?"
Facing the Caesar Governor, he truly felt an oppression that was difficult to describe, an oppression perhaps resonating as his strength was severely suppressed while facing a creature at the top of the food chain.
In two lifetis, it's his first ti encountering such a being classified as the continent's utmost apex monster in any version.
"Aister."
"Master, I am here."
"What do you think is the Chaos Source Essence?"
"I don't know, Master..."
"Now, targeted by enemies because of sothing whose nature is unknown, this leaves quite displeased. When displeased, I want to strike back, pity my current skill level isn't enough…"
