I was successfully transported to Earth. Erging from the magic circle, I ford my body from particles of light. Now, I’ve arrived in Tokyo—the city where I last lived with my family.
But my older sister, Takahiro Nana, is in danger. I don’t know the exact nature of the threat, but I received a warning notification from the Goddess of Benevolence.
As soon as I arrived, I rushed to find Nana. I only have three hours to resolve this crisis before I’m pulled back to Aetheria.
It’s already nightti—8 p.m. Nana should be at ho with our mom and older brother, Naki.
Without wasting a second, I headed there to check on her. I weaved through the crowded streets, realizing I’d teleported near the city center. Luckily, my old ho isn’t too far from here; I can run the rest of the way.
As I dashed through the streets, a few people gave strange looks. What’s their problem?
"Idiot! You’re dressed like that, and you don’t even have shoes or sandals! Of course, they think you’re a beggar!" Envi, my snarky companion, scolded .
He was right. I caught a glimpse of myself in a storefront window. Embarrassed, I noticed I was still wearing my undershirt, with bandages wrapped around my body, and no shoes at all. I had been in such a hurry I didn’t even notice.
Reluctantly, I rummaged through a nearby trash bin and managed to find a white shirt, black pants, sunglasses, and sneakers. Strangely enough, they were in good condition—barely dirty. Who would throw away perfectly good clothes like this?
As I changed, I muttered in annoyance, "Why does this always happen when I return to Earth? I end up dumpster diving for a disguise every ti."
"Hah! The proud Blackmore heir, reduced to scavenging in the trash! The family would be mortified! A future hero, digging through garbage—hilarious!" Envi jeered.
"Shut up! What choice do I have? At least I’m not stealing!" I snapped back, my patience wearing thin.
"Next ti, I’ll rent an apartnt and prepare so proper disguises," I grumbled.
"That’s more like it. You might even look halfway respectable!" Envi laughed again, still finding amusent in my misery. I ignored him, though the urge to punch him was strong.
Dressed and ready, I sprinted toward my old ho.
After several minutes, I reached the apartnt complex. From a distance, I noticed my brother Naki and our mother leaving the building, both looking panicked. I quickly hid and eavesdropped on their conversation.
"This is strange, Mom. Nana never cos ho this late," Naki said, visibly worried.
"I know... I’m scared sothing might have happened to her," Mom replied, clutching her hands nervously.
"I’ll check her office. You should stay inside and wait," Naki said, escorting Mom back into the building before heading off.
Hearing this, I raced toward Nana’s office. I had to find her before Naki did. The thought of her being in danger made my chest tighten with worry.
Fortunately, I knew exactly where her office was—it used to be my workplace. Nana had landed a job there recently.
After a few minutes of running, I arrived at the small five-story office building. Most of the lights were off, but I noticed one still shining on the fourth floor. That probably ant soone was working late.
But if Nana was working overti, why would she be in danger? I didn’t have ti to speculate. Activating my [Shadow Step] skill, I slipped past the security guard and hurried up the stairs.
When I reached the fourth floor, I heard the unmistakable sound of a struggle—voices shouting, objects clattering.
I cracked the door open to peek inside and froze in shock.
Nana was surrounded by a group of male colleagues—at least ten of them. They were closing in on her like wolves circling prey. Her clothes were torn, revealing her bra, and her terrified expression ignited a fury I couldn’t contain.
Dark magic surged through my body, and my murderous intent spiraled out of control.
In my mind, one thought roared louder than the rest: KILL THEM ALL!
...
I will not forgive anyone who disturbs my family. Especially those who try to harass Nana! She is already traumatized by the bad treatnt of n towards her, especially my father who often beats her.
My father often beats her when he finds my father cheating on her with another woman. At that ti Nana was still in 5th grade of Elentary School. She saw my father go out and make out with another woman. Nana imdiately reported it to my mother and triggered a big fight with my father. Until my father hit my mother and tortured her, he kept trying to find out how my mother knew he was cheating. Mother did not open her mouth and continued to be beaten.
Until finally Nana stopped my father, tried to defend my mother and said that she was the one who caught my father cheating. Hearing that, my father beca very angry and hit Nana.
Naki and I were still small at that ti and didn’t know anything, and we were only in the room. We couldn’t protect my mother and Nana.
Because she got rough treatnt from her father every day, Nana was traumatized from having relations with n. She beca uncomfortable being stared at by n, let alone touching them. She would only see the shadow of my cruel father if she did that.
My mother always defended Nana but also got the sa treatnt, until my mother decided to divorce my father. At that ti, Nana was imdiately taken to a psychologist. At that ti, Nana was diagnosed with severe trauma.
Nana tried to recover from her trauma. She continued her schooling and even went to college. Although she forced herself several tis. She also didn’t have any male friends, her fear of my father was still very strong.
Nana then tried to work to help my mother pay for our daily lives. But it only lasted 3 months, she had to leave her job. Her trauma worsened because she worked with n, which often disrupted her work. Finally, she locked herself in the house since then.
Every ti I think about it, it makes very upset because I can’t help Nana through her difficult tis. I can only replace her working to earn money.
But I died first and left my family who still needed ....
Since then, Nana has tried to face her trauma again and started working again. I am happy to see her able to rise again from adversity.
But when she tried to rise, she received cruel treatnt from the n at her workplace. I thought these seniors at my old workplace were good people, but I was wrong. THEY ARE THE SA! BASTARD!!
...
As I prepared to step forward, intent to kill the scumbag seniors, Envi’s voice cut sharply into my mind.
"DON’T LOSE YOUR HEAD, NAO! We can deal with them without killing anyone! If you beco a murderer and the police start chasing you, it’ll make returning here much harder!" Envi reasoned, his tone firm.
"But I can’t stand this, Envi. These bastards deserve to be erased from this world—"
Before I could finish, a young man stepped in to shield Nana. He put himself between her and the group of ten predators, defending her with everything he had.
He fought them all at once, throwing punches and taking hits. He couldn’t overpower them, though, and was soon overwheld, beaten to a pulp. Despite that, he refused to back down and shouted at Nana to run.
But Nana couldn’t move. Her trauma had paralyzed her. She could only scream helplessly, calling out to her coworker.
"Kai!!"
"Kai... stop! You’ll die at this rate!!" Nana’s voice broke with desperation as she watched Kai endure a relentless beating.
Seeing his determination, my seething rage cooled slightly. I hadn’t expected soone—a man, no less—to fight so fiercely to protect my sister.
I recognized him. It was Kai. He had been my senior at this very office, working here for three years before I died. Kai was the one who taught the ropes when I first joined. Always cheerful, always pushing to get closer to , even when I acted cold toward him.
He was a good man. A just man.
"So that’s how it is... Kai-senpai," I murmured, a small smile forming on my lips. I could act now, free from the blinding grip of my emotions.
Kai struggled to his feet, landing a few punches, but one of the seniors pulled out a box cutter and aid for his chest.
"KAI, WATCH OUT!" Nana scread.
The blade was re inches from Kai when I stepped in.
"What the hell? Who are you?!" The senior recoiled as I appeared out of nowhere, standing between him and his intended victim.
Grabbing his wrist, I crushed it with little effort, the sound of breaking bones echoing in the room. He scread in agony, dropping the cutter and collapsing to the floor.
"W-Who the hell are you?! How dare you interfere with company business!" one of the other seniors yelled.
"Company business?" I sneered. "All I see is a pack of gutless cowards attacking a defenseless woman."
They rushed at —eight of them, all at once. But their movents were sluggish, predictable, and laughably easy to dodge.
With calculated precision, I countered. A punch to the face, a knee to the stomach, a kick to their groins—I held back just enough strength to avoid killing them but made sure their bones shattered and their pride crumbled.
One tried to run, but I grabbed his collar and slamd him to the ground. It was the marketing manager—a sleazebag who always shifted bla onto others and had a reputation for harassing female employees.
I pumled his face, leaving it swollen and unrecognizable.
"P-Please, have rcy!" Another man, older, begged for his life. I recognized him. The CEO—a corrupt scumbag who embezzled funds and left a trail of broken families in his wake.
"rcy? You don’t deserve it," I snarled, kicking him where it hurt most. I lifted him by the neck, his feet dangling as he struggled.
"I should kill all of you right here," I growled, dark magic swirling around . "But that would be too easy. Instead, I’ll leave you with scars—enough trauma to make you understand the pain you’ve caused. Especially you will feel for yourself the trauma that a woman gets from bastard n like all of you."
I released a wave of Dark Magic, seeping it into their minds. It would haunt them forever, ensuring they’d never dare harm another woman.
They scread in terror, saliva and tears streaming uncontrollably as their bodies convulsed. One by one, they collapsed unconscious.
With the room now silent, I turned to Nana. She was clutching the unconscious Kai, trembling as she held him protectively. Her wide, fearful eyes locked onto , and my chest tightened.
She’s terrified of .
That realization stung more than I expected. I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down.
"Nana... it’s okay," I said softly, trying to ease her fear. "I won’t hurt you. I ca here to save you."
Her voice wavered as she stamred, "W-Who are you?"
"I’m your family," I replied.
"Our family? But we don’t have any family other than our mother—"
"For now, let’s focus on helping Kai. He needs a hospital."
I gently lifted Kai onto my back and guided Nana down the stairs. As we reached the lobby, I saw Naki rushing in, his face pale with worry.
"Naki, over here," I called. He hurried over, confused by the sight of .
I handed him my jacket and gestured for him to cover Nana. "Take care of her," I said. "And get Kai to the hospital. After that, go ho."
"W-Who are you, sir?" Naki asked, his voice trembling.
"Yeah, at least tell us your na," Nana added, tears streaming down her face. "Thank you... for saving and Kai."
"You don’t need to know that right now," I replied, stepping back. "But we’ll et again, Nana. Naki. Take care of each other."
As they walked away, Nana turned around and shouted, "Thank you so much, Mr. Sunglasses!" Her eyes still looked teary, but her lips ford a small, grateful smile.
"Even at night, your sunglasses look so cool... See ya, Mr. Sunglasses!" Naki chid in enthusiastically.
I froze, suddenly realizing I was still wearing the sunglasses I’d found earlier. Embarrassed, I scratched the back of my head. Uncle? Do they even realize I’m the one who paid their mother’s hospital bill? No, that’s impossible. These glasses hide my face perfectly.
In the back of my mind, I heard Envi laugh, as if mocking my mont of awkwardness.
Shaking off the thought, I took a deep breath and glanced around. The air was still heavy with tension, the remnants of the battle scattered everywhere. Broken crates, shattered glass, and the faint sll of smoke filled the alley.
"Well," I muttered to myself, rolling my shoulders. "Ti to clean up this ss."
