I could only stare at the quest with despair and utter lack of enthusiasm. This is impossible for ! I’d rather just face the Demon King directly!

In my mind, I shouted at Envi, "Damn system! Don’t you want to save this world? I’ll be executed before I can even get close to the Demon King!"

"Are you insane?! Of course, I want you to save the world! But co on, we can’t forget to have so fun while we’re at it. HAHAHA!" Envi’s laughter echoed louder in my head, accompanied by a teasing emote that I could practically visualize.

I sighed. Entertaining Envi was pointless. Still, I had no choice but to take on this quest. "Fine, Envi, I’ll do it! But don’t get the wrong idea—I’m not so flirt! And I definitely don’t dream of building a harem in this world. There’s soone I like back on Earth. The first ti I saw her, I—"

"Hey! Save the flashback for later! Right now, let’s focus on the task and finish this quest," Envi interrupted nonchalantly.

Reluctantly, I resigned myself to the quest. After all, I didn’t want to be branded a womanizer and executed—that would be beyond humiliating. Though honestly, a pervert like , Naoki, might just deserve it.

I hate to admit it, but I’m terrified—no, more like nervous—when it cos to talking to girls. Sure, I can act cool or casual around them, but deep down, my heart is always racing with anxiety. Maybe I’m just one of those shy guys who hides it well.

Summoning all my determination, I stood beside the Patriarch as he gave his speech to the gathered guests. I even managed to deliver a few words of my own, thanks to the countless hours of practice I’d had with Elan and Vivin.

This many people made uneasy, though, so I didn’t bother paying close attention to the crowd.

When my part was done, it was ti for the representative of King Braveheart—the Third Princess of the Braveheart Kingdom, Alia von Braveheart—to give a short address. After that, she would officially induct as the heir of the Blackmore Family and a Candidate Hero.

I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Her long, shimring orange hair flowed gracefully, framing a soft, beautiful face. She had a gentle expression, a beauty mark on her chin, well-proportioned figure and big breasts. She looked stunning in her deep crimson royal gown, exuding elegance with every step.

Normally, Envi would be loud and obnoxious in monts like this, especially when seeing a beautiful woman. But strangely enough, he was completely silent. I couldn’t help but find it odd.

"...Naoki von Blackmore, you have done well in completing the Blackmore Patriarch’s quest. Thanks to the information you’ve provided, the Royal Family of Braveheart is now formulating plans to counter the influence of the Doomspire demons alongside the five Hero Families of the Braveheart Kingdom," Princess Alia explained in detail.

"Therefore, Naoki von Blackmore, I, the Third Princess of the Braveheart Kingdom, on behalf of King Aslan von Braveheart, hereby induct you as a Candidate Hero of the Blackmore Family." With a ceremonial royal sword, she perford the induction.

"Next, you will face the Hero Exam from the Royal Knight Guild as well as the Braveheart Knight Academy. Upon passing, you will join the Heroes from the other four families who have already completed their exams and earned their titles as Heroes of the Kingdom.

"Although you failed to complete the Blackmore Quest on your first attempt, your success on the second try is comndable. Moving forward, you will face even greater challenges, as you are behind the other Hero Families who have already officially secured their positions. However, I am confident you will overco all obstacles, Naoki von Blackmore," Alia said with a warm smile.

I accepted the induction with a solemn promise: I would give my all to officially beco a Hero of the Kingdom from the Blackmore Family.

Suddenly, a notification window popped up in front of .

I felt a wave of relief wash over with this change in my title. Finally, that cursed "Failed Hero" title was gone!

With this burden lifted, my resolve grew even stronger. I was determined to beco a true Hero in this world and defeat the Demon King. This was a good step forward for —a turning point that marked the beginning of sothing greater.

...

...

After the induction ceremony concluded, the event transitioned into its informal segnt: feasting and dancing.

But I couldn’t relax just yet—I needed to focus on completing this ridiculous heroine quest!

I decided to start with the easiest task. Scanning the sea of nobles around , I searched for Lyra. After so effort, I found her standing alone on the balcony, looking somber as she gazed at the moon.

"Beautiful moon tonight, isn’t it?" I began, trying to break the silence.

"E-Eh? Naoki-sama, why are you here?" Lyra stamred, startled by my sudden presence.

"I was looking for you, Lyra. Is that not okay?" I teased lightly.

"No, that’s not it... Of course, you can see ," she replied, a faint blush coloring her cheeks.

"You look sad. What’s on your mind?" I asked gently.

"It’s just... I’m still mourning Rosan’s death. I still have so much to learn from him. He was such a brilliant mage," Lyra said, her voice trembling as if she was about to cry.

"You’re right," I acknowledged softly. "But Rosan wouldn’t want us to dwell in sorrow over his passing—especially not you, moping around like this all the ti."

"Rosan shared her magic with you, Lyra. She believed in your potential, and so do I," I added, trying to reassure her.

I reached out, clasping both of Lyra’s hands firmly in mine and lifting them slightly. She looked startled, her expression a mix of panic and surprise, but eventually, she didn’t resist.

"I know you’ll beco even stronger. I believe in you, Lyra," I said with a smile. "So, no more sadness, okay?"

Hearing my words, Lyra’s expression brightened, and she nodded. Her lips curved into a small, sincere smile, her face glowing under the soft light of the moon. Honestly, in that mont, with the moonlight highlighting her features, she looked absolutely enchanting.

...

After successfully comforting Lyra, I encouraged her to enjoy the event before turning my attention to the next target—Freya.

It didn’t take long to find her. Freya was happily indulging in the sweet desserts on display. Honestly, I hadn’t expected soone as cool and tomboyish as her to have such a soft spot for sugary treats.

"Take it slow, or you’ll choke, haha," I greeted her with a light tease.

"Ah, Naoki-dono, you’re here! Thank you so much for inviting to your party. These sweets are amazing!" she exclaid with a level of joy that made her look like she might lt on the spot.

"I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself. I was still worried about you and Lyra after the fight."

At my words, Freya suddenly stopped eating. Her cheerful deanor faltered, and a shadow of sadness passed over her face.

"I’m just forcing myself to look happy, Naoki-dono. The truth is, I’m still frustrated with myself. I couldn’t do much to help you against Canis. I’m angry at how weak I still am... and because of that, I can’t even cheer up Lyra properly," Freya admitted, her voice trembling as she tried to hold back tears. It was clear she had been pretending to be strong all this ti.

"That’s not true, Freya," I said firmly. "You helped more than you realize during the fight against Canis. I couldn’t have defeated him without you and everyone else."

Freya looked up at , her eyes eting mine, wide and uncertain.

"You never gave up against Canis, no matter how many tis he knocked you down. You stood tall, gripping your sword with unwavering determination. I know you’ll grow even stronger," I assured her with a sincere smile.

"You’re amazing, Freya. That side of you is sothing I really admire," I added, reaching out to gently touch her lips.

There was a small sar of cream on her lips. Slowly, I wiped it off with my finger, the gesture unintentionally brushing her lips softly. Then, without thinking, I licked the cream off my finger.

Freya’s entire face flushed crimson, her cheeks glowing brightly as she stamred, "Th-thank you for the complint, Naoki-dono. You’re really cool too—especially when you’re fighting, and... a-and even now you’re cool! Hahaha! I-I’m going to go enjoy more of these desserts over there. Bye!"

And with that, Freya hurried away, her face still bright red. I never thought I’d see her act so flustered—it was oddly adorable.

With Freya successfully chard, I ntally crossed her off the list. Only two more to go... and these might be the hardest yet.

...

"You said you were weak when it ca to won? But what I saw was that you were damn good at it!" Envi’s voice suddenly rang out, brimming with irritation.

"I don’t know, but..You’re the one who made this quest and told to have fun, so why are you angry now?!" I shot back, completely baffled.

"BECAUSE I’M JEALOUS! I WANT TO FLIRT WITH THE GIRLS TOO! Let take over already!" Envi snapped, and before I could protest, he forcibly seized control of my body.

Now it was Envi who was fully in charge.

"Hah... Fine, you can have your fun. But don’t overdo it, okay?" I sighed in resignation.

"Yeah, yeah, I got it. Now let’s find the next target!" Envi grinned, his mischievous expression full of anticipation.

Just then, Alia appeared before him, her elegant aura commanding attention.

This was going to be interesting.

"E-Eh, you’re Princess Alia... I-I an, um..." Envi stamred, looking completely flustered. It was shocking—this was Envi, the guy who never missed a beat with won. And yet, here he was, a ss.

"There you are, Naoki! I’ve been looking for you everywhere!" Alia said, a little annoyed.

"E-Eh, I was just... enjoying so cake. Haha..." Envi fumbled, clearly reaching for an excuse.

"Ugh, you’re so careless." Alia sighed, then crossed her arms. "I just wanted to check on you. Are you okay? I’ve heard about all the tis you’ve been gravely injured... and, oh my God, you even lost your mory!" Her voice was laced with genuine concern.

In my mind, I couldn’t believe it. How close was Princess Alia to Naoki? She was acting so casually, so unlike the formal deanor of royalty. Had they been this close before?

"I-I’m fine, really," Envi replied, then—out of nowhere—added, "Who are you again?"

What?! I couldn’t believe my ears. Was this so kind of bad joke?

"That’s not funny!" Alia snapped. "I literally introduced myself during your ceremony earlier!"

"S-Sorry!" Envi yelped, his voice almost a squeak. For the first ti, I saw him intimidated by a woman.

"Ugh, whether you have your mories or not, you’re still hopeless. I guess I have no choice but to explain again." Alia sighed heavily before saying, "I’m Alia von Braveheart. Not only the third princess of the Braveheart Kingdom but also... your childhood friend!"

Her words hit like a thunderclap. So, that’s why she was acting so familiar. But childhood friends with Naoki? That was news to .

"O-Oh, I see..." Envi muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. Then he suddenly grinned and teased, "But a little girl like you is my childhood friend? Haha, that’s rich."

"Little girl?!" Alia’s face twisted in frustration. "We’re only three years apart! If I’m a little girl, then you’re just a forgetful old man!" Her voice grew louder, and I could practically see the vein bulging on her forehead.

Realizing she was overreacting, Alia took a deep breath and softened her tone. "Whatever. I shouldn’t be yelling at soone with amnesia. Sorry..."

Envi laughed awkwardly. "Haha, my bad, too. How about I make it up to you with a dance? I’m sure everyone here would be jealous of dancing with a lovely lady—uh, I an, a lovely princess like you."

"E-Eh... Well, if you insist..." Alia stamred, her cheeks flushing a light pink as she hesitated, then accepted his outstretched hand.

The two moved to the dance floor as the music shifted to a slow, romantic tune. All eyes turned to them, the room abuzz with whispers.

To my surprise, Envi danced with remarkable skill, leading Alia effortlessly. His movents were graceful, confident—nothing like the flustered ss he’d been monts ago. Maybe it was because he shared my experiences learning to dance with Elan and Vivin. Whatever the reason, the two of them looked like a perfect pair.

Alia, too, danced elegantly. Her light steps matched his perfectly, and for the first ti, I saw a side of her that was poised and refined, a true royal. And yet, there was sothing charmingly vulnerable about the way she occasionally glanced at Envi, as if unsure how to handle this mont.

As their dance neared its end, I sent Envi a ntal nudge. Now’s your chance. Finish the quest. Hug her.

He gave a subtle nod, then executed a final spin, ending with a bold move—a back hug. The audience erupted into applause, cheering at the dramatic conclusion.

"H-Hey! Y-You hugged ?!" Alia turned to face him, her face beet red. "I wasn’t ready for that!"

"E-Er, sorry! It was just part of the dance," Envi explained, scratching his head awkwardly.

Alia huffed but then looked away, her blush deepening. "W-Well... fine. I’ll forgive you. But you know... even if you’ve lost your mories, you’re still a great dancer. We used to dance a lot together, so... maybe this will help you rember."

She hesitated before adding, "It was a wonderful dance, by the way. I... I’ll look forward to the next one." Her lips curled into a shy smile.

"Of course, my lady," Envi replied with a confident bow. "Next ti, I’ll make sure to leave you even more impressed."

"H-Hmph! Don’t get ahead of yourself!" Alia stamred, trying to hide her smile. Then, with a wave, she said, "Anyway, I’ll be heading back to the palace. Oh, by the way, I wanted to introduce you to other hero families, but unfortunately, most of their representatives didn’t show up. Only the Winterfell family sent soone. You should talk to them." With that, she left with her guards.

As soon as she was gone, Envi let out a satisfied sigh. "Phew. That was fun! Alright, Nao, I’m done for the night. Dancing’s exhausting. The rest is up to you." Without warning, he handed control of my body back to .

"W-Wait, you’re leaving with the hardest part?! I still have to kiss soone, and I don’t even know who she is!" I protested, but he didn’t respond.

While I was still grumbling to myself, soone tapped on the shoulder. I turned around—and froze.

"Hello, Naoki-kun. It’s been a while. How have you been?"

I’m familiar with this girl. I knew her back on Earth, and I used to see her quite often. But here, her appearance is slightly different. Her voice was light and cheerful, matching the aura of a girl with striking silver hair and piercing eyes. She waved at with a radiant smile, her presence effortlessly captivating.

I’m confused about this girl. Is she really the sa person I knew on Earth? Or is she just soone who looks similar to her?

Then, I glanced at her status, and the words nearly made my heart stop:

Na: Serena von Winterfell
