Aria’s POV:
The Overlords.
They are not re demons. They are calamities—high-ranking servants of the Demon King himself.According to legend, they once clashed with the heroes of old, led by the great Hiro von Blackmore.
Their power cos directly from the Demon King’s bloodline, granting them deathly magic and a strength that even the gods once feared.
Even back then, they slaughtered blessed heroes—warriors chosen by the gods themselves.
And worst of all...
They never truly die. Even when defeated, their bodies do not perish. Their immortal forms rely slumber, sealed away with the Demon King... waiting.
But now—One by one... they’re awakening.
And I stand here, face to face with one of them.
At first, there were two Overlords. A woman with a devil’s grin vanished through a teleportation portal, leaving behind only him. The man. Pale, sharply dressed, yet dripping with an aura so chilling, it suffocates the battlefield.
This is our chance. He stands alone.
But even then... I can’t let my guard down. One mistake could an the end—not just for the Braveheart Kingdom, but for the entire world.
I will defeat this Overlord. I swear it.
And I’m not alone.
At my side are warriors—knights and heroes—brave enough to give everything for this kingdom. For our ho.
And standing right beside ... is the man I love. My fiancé.
Lucius von Starlight the Saint-Sword of Solis.
We’ve known each other since we were children. He always said he would protect , no matter what. And I believed him. We grew stronger together—side by side. I fought on the frontlines with my Divine Magic, bringing hope and victory to our people.
But one day, Lucius asked to stop.
To step away from the battlefield.
He said it wasn’t ant for soone like . He promised that he would fight in my place—as the Hero of House Starlight.
He kept that promise.
And I... I stepped away. I was happy. His golden hair, that warm gaze, his tender kindness—I loved him deeply, and he loved in return.
Three years ago, we got engaged. Our fathers gave their blessings. For the first ti in years, my father smiled again. He hadn’t smiled since Mother, the Queen, passed away from illness ten years ago.
For a brief mont, life was beautiful.
But everything began to change two years ago.
Lucius no longer smiled like he used to. The light in his eyes dulled.
That warmth... slowly replaced by a mask. A smile he wore only to keep from worrying.
I knew that pain. I had worn that sa mask when I bore the title of the Divine Valkyrie.
Still, Lucius comforted . Promised that we would be married when the war was over.
But the demons returned—stronger, hungrier, crueler. And war ignited once more.
All our plans crumbled.
Lucius was sent back to the front. And I... I could not stand idly by. I offered myself once more to the kingdom—to my father, King Aslan von Braveheart.
He refused. At first.
But I begged him—Let protect this kingdom... and the man I love.
He relented.
And I returned to Lucius’s side.
He didn’t want there. Not at first. But when he saw fight—saw what I could still do—he stopped trying to send away.
I looked into his eyes and told him confidently, "We will survive this. We’ll return together."
And for the first ti in so long... he smiled. A true smile.
He pulled into an embrace, and I kissed him.
Then, he whispered: "When this war ends... I’ll marry you."
I wept. And I said yes.
But fate would not let us rest.
....
Now, Lucius and I charge through the battlefield.
Together, we mow down demons, even the higher-ranked ones, like shadows in the sun.
With my Divine Magic [Divine Retribution], I strike down hundreds.
With [Braveheart Holy Axe: Divine Clive], I decimate the enemy with a single swing of holy light.
Lucius, too—he dances like starlight across the battlefield, severing heads with [Starlight Swordmanship: Dancing of the Light], faster than the eye can follow.
We are unstoppable. As Lord Tetsu von Blackmore and Cain of House Flamore face the Demon Warlords, Lucius and I charge toward the Overlord.
Diamantus and Silvanya attack from a distance using their magic.
But then...
We see it.
A nightmare.
The Overlord floats midair, calmly eating an apple—above a mountain of corpses. Demon. Monster. Human knight. All slaughtered alike.
Blood swirls around him like a crimson storm, thick and alive. It clings to him. Shields him.
He’s bathing in it.
And then I realize... he’s not just killing demons and humans. He’s feeding on them.
I can’t stand it.
My rage explodes. I charge, axe raised, unleashing [Divine Clive] with all my might.
He raises a single finger—and stops my holy strike cold.
"Impossible...!"I can hardly breathe. Divine magic is supposed to be a demon’s weakness!
But he doesn’t even flinch.
Thankfully, Julius arrives and cuts in with [Starlight Swordmanship: Luminous Strike], striking the Overlord and pulling back. Even still—the Overlord barely reacts.
Then... he laughs. Cold. Unhinged.
"Pathetic. Is this all your little kingdom can do? Your attacks don’t even scratch ."
He raises his arms, summoning rivers of blood into the air. They twist and churn, forming a protective sphere before lashing out.
"Let show you how to hurt soone. [High Blood Magic: Bloody Rain]"
Blood rises like mist—then falls like raindrops. But it’s not just blood. It’s death. Dark magic. Pure destruction.
Diamantus and Silvanya tried to protect us by using their double defense magic. But the Overlord’s blood magic could penetrate it easily.
Silvanya was badly injured by the attack. They still didn’t understand how the Overlord’s attack could penetrate their magic. Diamantus angrily stepped forward to the Overlord. He used his signature diamond magic that turned his entire skin into diamonds.
It was Diamantus’ signature magic, and he claid that no one could hurt him while using it.
The Overlord’s attack really couldn’t penetrate his diamond skin, and he punched the Overlord in the face, breaking his neck.
That made the Overlord laugh and fix his neck.
SLASH!
As soon as Diamantus regained consciousness, he saw that his stomach had a hole in it. A spear of blood ca out of his stomach.
That made him lose and dying, and he was thrown to the edge of the area.
I scread seeing the two magi defeated so easily. It was so unreasonable. How strong was the overlord demon?
The Overlord walked towards and tried to attack .
Then, Lucius shields —but it tears into him.
I cast [Lun Ward] to protect us, and at first, it works...Until we look down—Blood has soaked the earth.
And from it... spikes erupt.
Crimson spears pierce our bodies.
We scream.
I see that monster laugh—genuinely entertained.
"How fragile you are. How beautifully weak."
Lucius groans, forces himself to his feet. He tells to heal us.
Then—His eyes sharpen. That warmth vanishes, replaced by sothing else.
The Overlord flinches.
"What’s this...?" he murmurs, smiling darkly.
And that’s when they arrive.
Tetsu-sama. Cain.
Along with Freya, Julius, Luna, Marius, and Leopold.
They see us—bleeding, on the brink—and imdiately rush to defend us.
Tetsu-sama raises his sword. Cain ignites his flas.
"Fall back," they command the others.
"We’ll hold him here."
The Overlord bursts into laughter.
"How amusing! So the little monkeys all gather now? Do you think numbers will save you?"
"I am Nosef Vemoryth, the Crimson Sovereign. The Third Overlord—and I will erase you all!"
My heart turns cold.
The Third Strongest Overlord...
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
I clutch the locket around my neck—Inside is a photo of my mother, my father, and Lucius.
And I whisper...
"Please...Gods and Goddess...Give us the strength... to survive."
