Freya’s POV:
I followed Cain and the others as we rushed to confront Zorx, the Demon Warlord who had erged from the depths of the dungeon. We used Professor Alden’s teleportation stone to transport ourselves to the surface. Before the spell activated, my gaze fell on Naoki, Lyra, Alia, Marius, and the rest of my companions. They stood at the edge of the teleportation circle, sending us off with smiles filled with confidence and trust.
I t Naoki’s eyes, determined to reflect the sa confidence back. With a quiet whisper, I promised, "We’ll et again, Naoki-dono."
Naoki’s understanding was imdiate. He nodded and gave a soft, encouraging smile—one that filled with strength.
Finally, Cain, Kael, Leopold, Luna, and Erin’s team beca particles of shimring light, and we vanished into the teleportation spell, reappearing monts later outside the dungeon.
What greeted us was nothing short of a nightmare.
The land was scorched and broken. Fires raged across the field. Blackened craters marked the ground, and the air was thick with ash and the scent of burning. Monstrous roars echoed from all directions as the dungeon’s denizens poured out like an unstoppable tide.
"What... what is this?" Kael’s voice trembled with fear. His hands gripped his sword tightly, but his knuckles had gone white. "This is like a full-blown battlefield..."
The others were just as shaken. Luna’s usually sharp eyes darted nervously, scanning the chaotic scene. Leopold’s spear wavered slightly, betraying his unease. Even Erin’s usually stoic team showed signs of fear.
We had all studied Dungeon Breaks at the academy. We knew how catastrophic they could be. But reading about it was nothing like standing in the middle of one.
This wasn’t just a Dungeon Break. No, the sheer scale of destruction told us sothing else was at play.
At the heart of the chaos stood Zorx, the Demon Warlord ranked second among all demons. His towering figure radiated a dark, suffocating aura. He commanded the rampaging monsters with brutal precision, and worse—he had joined the battle himself.
The professors and knights stationed at the dungeon’s periter fought desperately, but they were being slaughtered. Their formation had broken, and blood stained the ground beneath their feet. The monsters’ relentless assault left no ti for retreat.
My knees trembled. I couldn’t stop the shaking. This battlefield was like a vision of hell itself. Knights and professors were being overwheld, their bodies falling one after another. The cries of the wounded filled the air. For every monster we killed, three more seed to take its place.
In the distance, Arsene—head of the Braveheart Knight Academy and the kingdom’s second princess—fought fiercely against Zorx. She wielded powerful Divine Magic, and every strike of her enchanted blade sent waves of radiant energy crashing into the demon. Yet even Arsene was struggling. The endless stream of monsters targeted her constantly, draining her strength and leaving her exposed.
"Cain-sama! This is bad! We need to help Arsene-sama!" I shouted, desperation creeping into my voice.
"You’re right! We have to move now!" Luna agreed imdiately, already preparing to charge forward.
"Brother Cain, we have to act!" Kael and Leopold added, their expressions fierce.
Cain’s eyes blazed with battle lust. "Hahaha! That damn demon’s already started his fight, huh? I’ll take him down right here!" His grin was feral—his battle maniac nature fully awakened.
"Let us help you!" Kael and Leopold both insisted.
"I’ll fight by your side too!" I didn’t even hesitate.
But Cain’s response was swift. "Stay out of this! Handle the weaklings and mop up the small fry! I will face Zorx alone!"
With those parting words, Cain shot forward like a bolt of fire, heading straight for the clash between Zorx and Arsene.
Left behind, Kael, Leopold, Luna, Erin’s team, and I regrouped quickly. We had no choice but to follow Cain’s orders. The dungeon break monsters sward us relentlessly, but we fought with everything we had. My blade danced through the air, cutting down any beast that got too close. Kael and Leopold fought side by side, their synchronized movents deadly and precise. Luna’s magic rained down on the monsters in bursts of searing light. Erin’s team held the rear, covering us from surprise attacks.
Despite the chaos, our eyes stayed locked on Cain. He had reached Zorx and was already trading blows with the Demon Warlord. Their battle was ferocious, each strike sending shockwaves across the battlefield. Flas erupted wherever their swords t, turning the already scorched ground into an inferno.
We pushed forward, determined to stay close enough to help if needed. But even as we fought, the weight of the battle bore down on us. The longer we stayed, the more monsters seed to appear. Every victory felt like a drop in the ocean of chaos surrounding us.
I clenched my teeth, willing my legs to keep moving. Cain was counting on us to hold the line. Arsene needed ti to recover. And Zorx—Zorx would stop at nothing until we were all dead.
No matter what, we couldn’t afford to fall here.

Cain’s POV:
"Damn it! Damn it! DAMN IT! You damn demon!" I cursed over and over in my mind. I would not let Zorx get away with whatever he was planning.
Without hesitation, I dashed toward the battlefield where Zorx and Arsene were still locked in combat. The air was thick with tension as their swords clashed again and again, but Arsene was clearly being pushed back.
The mont I saw an opening, I unleashed my skill, [Flamore Swordsmanship: Crimson Crescent], aiming for Zorx’s arm just as I had before. Yet, it was no use.
"Trying the sa trick again? It won’t work this ti!" Zorx sneered, effortlessly blocking my strike.
With a vicious grin, he retaliated, releasing his skill [Black Fla Slash]—a dark wave of fire that tore through the air toward .
"Don’t let that fire touch you, Cain! It burns endlessly!" Arsene shouted a desperate warning.
Her words stung. A fla user from the Flamore family, one of the greatest fire-wielding lineages in the Braveheart Kingdom, being told to fear fire? How absurd! I clenched my teeth. I’ll show them who commands the hottest flas!
"My flas burn hotter than anything Zorx can conjure! This black fire is nothing!" I roared back, surprising Arsene.
I heightened my Aura Force to the supre level and countered with [Flamore Swordsmanship: Flare Strike!], sending out a massive, blazing slash. Our flas collided in midair, and the impact shook the battlefield. Yet neither fla overpowered the other.
Our battle escalated. Zorx and I exchanged ferocious blows, his sword imbued with dark fire and mine blazing with the legendary Flamore fla. Sparks and embers flew as each clash sent waves of heat across the battlefield.
Though Arsene occasionally tried to assist, I ordered her to fall back and recover. I hated to admit it, but I would need her divine magic when the ti ca. I could feel it—Zorx was waiting for the perfect mont to unleash sothing far more dangerous.
The battlefield burned like a vision of hell itself. Yet amidst the chaos, I saw Freya, Kael, and Leopold absorbing stray flas with their own fire skills, minimizing the damage to the knights and professors. Relief washed over seeing them hold their ground against the dungeon break’s relentless monsters.
But I couldn’t let my attention waver. My Firaga Armor skill had only seven minutes left before its power ran out. I had to end Zorx before then.
Suddenly, Zorx unleashed [Infernal Black Surge]—a devastating shockwave of dark flas that erupted in all directions, dealing explosive damage to anything within a 20-ter radius.
I countered with [Blazing Tempest], and once again, our flas clashed in equal intensity. He grinned wickedly. "Impressive, Cain. But you still can’t win."
Ignoring his taunts, I pressed the attack. I fought with all the ferocity I could muster—slashing relentlessly, refusing to give him a mont of reprieve. That was my fighting style: break the enemy’s will with sheer force.
But then Zorx laughed—a deep, nacing sound that sent chills down my spine. He raised his sword high and activated [Molten Black Tsunami]. A massive wave of molten black lava surged across the battlefield, transforming the terrain into a sea of hellfire.
"Damn it!" I growled, watching knights and professors retreat from the unbearable heat. My heart sank when I spotted Freya, Kael, Leopold, and Erin’s team trapped in the wave’s path.
"YOU FOOLS! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" I roared, sprinting toward them with all my speed. I carved a path through the flas, determined to reach them.
But Zorx only laughed louder. "So, you do care for them after all. How disappointing. I expected more from you, Cain." His grin widened. "Now watch them die! [Apocalyptic Fla Eruption]!"
Dark fire erupted from his body, swirling violently around him and his sword. A sense of dread filled . He was preparing a finishing move. I couldn’t let him finish the chant.
I launched myself at him with [Crimson Slash, Full Strike!], pouring every ounce of strength into the blow. My sword cut deep into his arm, tearing through flesh. Yet he endured, and his flas erupted outward.
An enormous explosion of dark fire engulfed the battlefield, surging toward Freya, Kael, and Leopold.
"NOOOOO! GET OUT OF THERE!" I scread, but it was too late.
The flas consud them. My heart sank. Were they... dead?
"No... no... This is my fault. I was too arrogant. I thought I could end this quickly."
Rage consud . I slashed at Zorx with wild fury, but he still t each strike with his own.
Then, through the smoke and flas, I saw sothing that stopped my heart. They were alive. Freya, Kael, Leopold, Erine’s team had survived.
Kael had activated [Phoenix’s Protection], he released a Phoenix-shaped fla that protected himself, Freya, and Leopold. The Phoenix fla protected them from all forms of fire and neutralized Zorx’s attacks.
That was one of the true abilities of Kael’s sword [Ignis] which was one of the strongest swords of the Flamore Family. The sword would release its owner’s full power if it felt its owner was worthy.
I exhaled a shaky breath. Relief flooded through . At first glance I felt relieved but I saw Kael in pain, he seed to have taken damage. Freya and Leopold were shocked to see that. Erin directly use [Heal] but it’s not effective.
"KAEL!" I slashed Zorx and kicked him to the ground. I imdiately ran towards Kael.
"Hey you idiot...what happened--" I wanted to check Kael’s condition but suddenly.
AAAKKHH!
Kael scread. Black flas burned his back and didn’t stop.
"HAHAHAHA A HUMAN LIKE YOU WANT TO WITHSTAND ONE OF MY STRONGEST ATTACKS? DON’T DREAM ABOUT IT! MY FIRE WILL CONTINUE TO BURN THE TARGET TO DUST!" Zorx laughed and explained what happened.
What the heck, the phoenix fire can’t neutralize it? I asked myself.
"YOU DAMNED DEMON! YOU DARE ATTACK THE WEAK ONE!" I imdiately charged at Zorx and attacked him again. This ti my emotions were even more intense.
In that state Arsene ca and tried to heal Kael and remove Zorx’s fire from him.
"CAIN! DEFEAT HIM! I will try to heal Kael with all my might!" Arsene shouted loudly trying to convince .
I don’t have much ti, I have to defeat Zorx now!
