Cain’s POV:

I, Cain von Flamore the Hellfire Berserker, one of the heroes of the Braveheart Kingdom, never expected to face one of the Demon Warlords this soon. And to make matters worse, it had to be Zorx the Apocalypse Inferno—an enemy whose fire affinity clashed terribly with my Flamore Swordsmanship, making it much harder to overpower him with brute force.

But that didn’t matter. If anything, this was a rare opportunity. A chance to face an opponent this strong... How could I back down now?!

I wanted to go all out against Zorx, but then—those damn underlings of Naoki showed up to "help" . As if I needed their interference! No matter how much I told them to back off, they stubbornly kept trying to support .

"Cain-sama, your hand... You can’t fight at full strength in this condition."

A boy with golden hair, wearing a matching gold earring and armor, spoke with concern. Judging by his aura, he had to be a descendant of the Starlight Family.

"He’s right, Cain-sama! Please, let us handle this for now!"

A green-haired girl, wielding a bow, took a stance to cover . She was another noble warrior—a mber of the Stormheim Family, known for their legendary archers.

It was surprising. People as skilled as them... Why were they following soone as weak as Naoki?

As I pondered this ridiculous situation, Leopold and Kael approached as well, offering their assistance.

I clenched my fists in frustration. ? Cain von Flamore, one of the strongest in the Braveheart Kingdom—cornered by this damned demon?! Unacceptable.

"Stay out of my way! Don’t get in my fight! I don’t need any of you!"

I unleashed my aura, letting it explode outward with a pressure so intense that most of them flinched.

Most of them—except for the golden-haired boy, Julius, and the green-haired girl, Termina. They stood firm, refusing to back down.

"You need to recover first, Cain-sama!" Julius insisted.

"Tch." I clicked my tongue in irritation. They were wasting my ti.

I raised my left arm, letting them see it clearly. "This? It’s just my left hand! Who cares if it got cut off? I can still fight at full power!"

To prove my point, I ignited my severed limb with flas from my sword, instantly cauterizing the wound. Then, using my fire magic, I reshaped a new arm out of flas, condensing it until it was solid enough to grip my greatsword.

Everyone was stunned—including Professor Alden, who had been preparing to heal .

Kael and Leopold still looked unconvinced, but the glare I shot them was enough to shut them up.

And then—Zorx suddenly leaped into the air, raising his sword.

"[Rainy Magma!]"

Molten fire rained down like a deadly teor shower, threatening to consu everyone below.

No chance. I won’t let you!

I shot upward, clashing blades with Zorx mid-air, leaving Kael, Leopold, and the others behind.

Down below, Professor Alden and a small girl quickly cast a Barrier spell, shielding the group from the falling magma.

As I exchanged blows with Zorx, a sudden thunder arrow whizzed through the air, aiming directly for his side.

Termina. She was attacking from range.

And then—Julius joined the fight, charging in beside .

"I told you, I don’t need your help! Go assist the others against the dungeon boss!" I snapped at him.

Julius just laughed confidently. "No need! Even without Naoki, Alia is there. The Third Princess of the royal family has powerful Divina Magic, and she’s not alone—Freya, Lyra, Marius, and Luna are with her. We’ll finish off this bastard first, then help them after!"

He wasn’t backing down.

Fine.

Julius launched his attack—

"[Starlight Swordsmanship: Radiant Slash!]"

A crescent arc of light streaked toward Zorx.

From behind, Termina unleashed a storm of arrows—

"[Stormheim Archery: Storm Barrage!]"

Zorx turned his attention away from to deflect the incoming attacks, his body erupting in a burst of magma, lting the arrows before they could reach him.

Now!

I shot downward, executing "[Flamore Swordsmanship: Cot!]", striking Zorx with explosive force, slamming him into the ground.

Before he could recover, Professor Alden followed up.

"[Earth Magic: Mountain Prison!]"

A massive structure of rock rose around Zorx, sealing him within a crushing mass of earth.

As he struggled to break free, Kael and Leopold charged in, leading the remaining fighters.

"[Flamore Swordsmanship: Flare Strike!]" Leopold’s blade burst into flas, sending a powerful slash crashing into Zorx.

Kael had been gathering mana for his ultimate attack. Now, he unleashed it—

"[Flamore Magic Sword Release: Blazing Ascension!]"

A colossal wave of fire erupted from his blade, scorching everything in its path.

BOOOM!!

The explosion tore through the battlefield, reducing everything to ashes.

But—Zorx was still standing.

Not only was he unhard, but his body was now coated in lava armor, heat radiating so intensely that the air around him distorted.

He grinned arrogantly, his laughter echoing through the battlefield.

"Hahaha! Trying to burn , the Apocalypse Inferno, with fire magic? A foolish mistake! No fla can burn . No fire can wound !"

He spread his arms wide, daring us to challenge him.

That arrogance would be his downfall.

I took a deep breath, raising my sword. Fine. If fire won’t work... I’ll just cut through you instead.

I unleashed my full Aura Force, raising it to the supre level. My blade began glowing with an overwhelming sharpness, capable of slicing through anything.

I rushed forward at lightning speed, my sword ready to cleave through the so-called "invincible" Zorx.

"[Flamore Swordsmanship: Sixth Form—Crimson Crescent!]"

With a single motion, I channeled all my aura into my blade, fusing it with my fire magic.

A brilliant crimson arc slashed through the air—headed straight for Zorx.

"I ALREADY TOLD YOU, FIRE ELENTS ARE USELESS!" Zorx arrogantly declared as he blocked my attack with his left hand.

Suddenly—

SLASH!

My attack successfully severed his left hand, causing blood to gush out.

"Ehh?" Zorx was shocked to see his severed hand flying through the air, engulfed in flas.

"You’ve lost your hand, and now you’ll feel the sa pain, you bastard! You said fire elents are useless against you? Maybe that applies to other people’s attacks. But this is my attack—CAIN VON FLAMORE! The Hellfire Berserker! The hero of Braveheart Kingdom! There is nothing I cannot cut and burn with my Flamore Swordsmanship! HAHAHAHA!" I shouted, provoking him.

Zorx’s expression twisted into a mix of fury and madness. He laughed maniacally, as if relishing the pain I had inflicted on him.

I relentlessly struck at him, my sword clashing against his. He began to fight back seriously.

"That’s right, Zorx! FIGHT SERIOUSLY, OR YOU’LL BURN!!" I couldn’t contain my excitent as we exchanged blows.

Eventually, our synchronized attacks pushed Zorx into a corner. His body was now covered in wounds, most of them caused by my flas.

As we surrounded him, ready to end this battle, a sudden surge of pressure filled the room. The temperature spiked drastically.

Before our attacks could land, he uttered:

"[Dark Fire Magic: Warlord of the Dark Fla Armor]!"

A surge of black fire enveloped him, deflecting all our attacks. The dark flas seed to consu his very being.

Monts later, he erged—his body now clad in magma-black armor, dark flas coursing across his form.

I instantly felt the vast difference in power. This is bad! He can overpower all of us here!

"Everyone, RUN!" I yelled, warning my allies to escape before he could strike.

But before they could react, Zorx unleashed his attack:

"[Dark Fire Magic: Tsunami of Hell]!"

He plunged his sword into the ground, and a massive tidal wave of black fire erupted, surging towards us.

I watched as Kael and Leopold launched their attacks, but their flas were devoured by the black inferno. Termina and Erin’s team scrambled to evade the attack. Professor Alden raised a massive magical barrier, towering like a fortress wall—but even his spell was incinerated.

Without hesitation, I rushed to the front. I had no choice but to use one of my trump cards.

Beside , Julius stood without fear, ready to resist the attack. He wielded the power of light—strong against demonic forces. He might just be able to counter this.

"Not bad, you’ve got guts. You’re Julius, right? Ah, you’re the younger brother of that guy—the hero of the Starlight Family. He was truly strong... Let’s see if you can match up to him," I said, recalling his older brother, one of my fellow heroes fighting on another battlefield.

"I won’t disappoint you!" Julius declared, unleashing his skill.

"[Starlight Swordsmanship: Luminous Rift]"

He raised his sword towards the sky, summoning a burst of holy energy that exploded across the battlefield. The brilliance of his attack illuminated the entire chamber, slowly pushing back the black flas.

But it wasn’t enough. The dark fire kept growing stronger, making it difficult for Julius to maintain his attack.

"Hold your ground!" I commanded him, urging him to keep resisting.

It was ti for my trump card.

"[Flamore Swordsmanship Secret Technique: Burning Madness Phase II, Firaga Armor]"

A vast surge of flas erupted around , and I absorbed them, compressing them into an armor of pure fire. This was the second phase of Burning Madness.

This technique grants 200% fire resistance and boosts my Flamore Swordsmanship by 100%.

It was the perfect counter against Zorx. But there was a cost—if I exceeded ten minutes, my mind would deteriorate, driving into a berserker rage. The extre heat gnawed at my sanity.

Now, my entire body was encased in a crimson armor, engraved with burning fla patterns. Behind , ten fire orbs floated, each representing one minute before I lost control.

I wasted no ti. I unleashed:

"[Flamore Swordsmanship: Blazing Tempest]"

My ordinary slashes were now devastating infernos, burning through everything—even Zorx’s black flas.

Zorx’s eyes widened in shock. I had erased his attack.

"Incredible! You truly are strong, Cain von Flamore!" He grinned. "I could make you a great servant of the Demon King. Are you interested?"

"You fool. I seek battle against strong opponents, but I have no interest in becoming a disgusting demon like you lot. How about this instead—I burn you and your Demon King to ashes?! HAHAHAHA!"

My words twisted his grin into a furious scowl.

We clashed again, our battle intensifying—until suddenly, sothing unthinkable happened...
