Chapter 452
452 – Descent of the King of Flies
The man’s body swells up, his humanlike appearance becoming more and more monstrous. If you ignore his six vaguely humanlike arms, the huge horns on his head, and his strangely large abdon, his appearance isn’t dissimilar to that of a fly.
But, what’s unexpected to is his imnse size. He’s over twenty tres long – more than twice my size.

A rank!? In terms of pure stats, he’s not just stronger than the sli, but is even stronger than Eldia.
Why did soone like this lose to Lilixira? If this level of strength on her side, then there was no need for her to desperately run away from Eldia. Was all of that an act so that I wouldn’t learn about her hidden card?
…No, in the first place, after Lilixira pinned down Eldia with gravity magic, we were in quite an advantageous position. With his wings crushed, Eldia could only fire out magic haphazardly. Because I didn’t want to finish off Elida, once Lilixira made the decision to retreat, I ekly followed her.
…Back then, Lilixira might have wanted to keep my level far from the evolution threshold. Eldia is a max level A rank dragon. He’s undoubtedly worth the the most experience points out of everyone in the world other than the divine skill holders. Not wanting to get too strong for her to control, Lilixira must have wanted that battle to end in a tie.
The more I think about it, the more I co to realise the cold rationality of Lilixira’s behaviour. Perhaps there were so other motives of hers at play that I still can’t see.
『Run from like you’re going to die. Of course, you actually are going to die!』
Beelzebub’s huge body draws close to .
It looks like his characteristic skill, [Slow Body], cuts his speed in half. From what he said earlier, I can guess that it doesn’t affect him while he’s humanised.
Although【Speed: 701】is slow for an A rank, it’s still monstrously fast. I would be able to shake him off if I could fly at my fastest, but as damaged as my body is, that won’t be so easy.
As Beelzebub charges towards , I [Roll] through the air to suddenly change my trajectory and dodge diagonally downwards. Beelzebub’s huge arm grazes past my tail.
I’m only glad this is an aerial fight and not on the ground. In the air I have more freedom of movent, and so can dodge in more directions.
Just running will do nothing but wear out. But his defence and HP are ridiculously high.
If he was a glass-cannon type, I would still have a chance for a reversal, but he’s too tough, and if I try to run and sohow manage to create so distance, he’ll just switch to human form to double his speed and chase. There’s no way I can shake him off.
As Beelzebub turns to face , each of his six arms reach out. I twist my body to the side to try and avoid them. I shoot a [Wind Slash] at an arm that I’m unable to dodge to stop it, then kick off off the stopped arm to launch myself away.
Wh-what do I do? I owe my life to my partner. I can’t afford to die here and keep Aro and the others waiting forever. Should I try running away to force him to humanise, then hit him hard while his defence is halved?
It looks like the MP consumption of his [Humanisation Technique] was cancelled out by his [Mimicry] skill, but it still halved his maximum HP. All the drawbacks to humanising other than the MP consumption should still affect him.
『Nice dodge! But you should watch out for what’s behind you better!』
Two flies chase my back. They’re faster than I thought. I check one of their statuses.

C rank… They’re not a threat, but I still need to make sure they die! I shoot a [Wind Slash] at each of them. Both of them are cut in two and fall to the ground.
I’m not getting any experience points…? I guess they’re monsters created by a special skill. They’re probably always created at level 30.
『You’re wide open!』
Beelzebub’s swollen abdon splits open, revealing a huge mouth. Innurable teeth line the mouth. Wh-what is that…!?
『[Inhaara]!』
In front of the gargantuan mouth, a magic circle appears. Sensing sothing sinister from the magic circle, I imdiately turn away and desperately flap my wings.
I glance backwards. I see a vortex form out of the magic circle… At the sa ti, I feel my body being pulled backwards. The bodies of the two flies that I defeated are sucked into Beelzebub’s mouth. The seawater around is pulled upwards and splashes against .
What sort of haphazard way of fighting is this!? I’m just barely able to offset the pull with the power of flight, but as long as he has this magic, fighting in the air might be disadvantageous.
『Urp. Thanks for the food… Aah, it’s too salty. The seawater really does ruin it.』
The magic circle fades, and the mouth closes. I can use this! If I can ride the remaining air currents and slip past him, it might be enough to take him by surprise. I’ll create so distance and force him to humanise.
I twist my body around, then ride the wind to fly past. Suddenly, the mouth opens again.
『And now, the certain death beam!』
A purple mixture of water and air shoots from his mouth as ocean’s surface below him deforms. As though polluted by his breath, a purple stain quickly spreads across the water.
『Hahahahaa! If this was before, that would have gotten tons experience points! Are your instincts good? Or are you just lucky? 』
Wh-what is that skill? The scale of it is too huge.
