"Rember! Upgrade the tower and back up as quickly as possible. Kain’s a fiery girl. I’m not sure I can hold her back."

Roy grumbled.

"Okay, as long as you give back my armor after that."

Hector smirked, taking a look at the magnificent armor made of obsidian.

[Na]: Armor of the Fallen Royal Knight

[Tier]: Blue

[Description]: A mighty royal knight once fought demons in hell... however, he was betrayed by his allies—elental fighters.

This armor hates elentals in the whole world.

The user is immune to 50% of all elental damage. Not only that, it transfers energy absorbed from elental attacks into mana for the user.

"Buddy, I like it. Can you sell it to ?"

"Are you dreaming? My stuff is priceless."

"10,000 gold coins."

Roy scowled.

"Are you crazy? My armor’s worth way more than that." Roy smirked and raised two fingers at Hector.

"Deal. 20,000 gold coins."

Roy froze for a mont. Hector could really buy his armor with that many gold coins—he hadn’t expected Hector to be this generous.

In reality, the armor was only worth around 12–16 thousand gold coins.

"Have you been expelled by your clan yet?"

Hector chuckled.

"Think of it as an investnt. The rest is buying goodwill."

Hector approached a rock and sat down. He looked up at the night sky, then scanned the surroundings with [Eyes of the Predator]. After that, he glanced over his territory, where Roy had been slaughtering beastly monsters.

At so point, a sound rang out.

Ting!

[Communication spell has been set up]

...

[Hey! Can you see my words??]

Hector nodded, forming words in his mind.

[Sure. I see them very clearly.]

[Good. I just bought a communication spell. I think it’s the first thing we should get,] Roy said.

[So, how’s your side? At this rate, we’ll upgrade the tower to level 4. I think we need about one hour?]

Hector rely narrowed his eyes as he stared ahead. From far away, he could see a shadowy figure rushing toward him at high speed.

[Rember what I said: send backup as quickly as possible. That fiery girl has arrived.]

...

[Got it!]

...

A girl slowly approached Hector, her beautiful face and scarlet hair revealed under the moonlight.

She was slender with the alluring curves of a mature woman, yet still in her youth. Now he fully understood why the Hector of this world had desired her day after day. A beautiful woman could stir any man in the world...

However, there was one thing that felt strange.

She was unusually calm.

Hector blinked as he read her expression. He had expected her to lunge at him all of a sudden, but instead, she rely studied him with calm eyes.

But that was fine. In this case, he would have plenty of ti until backup arrived.

At so point, she finally spoke. Her tone was cool, laced with hatred.

"You haven’t changed at all. Still wearing that arrogant face anyone would want to crush."

Hector paused for a mont before replying.

"So what? You want revenge for what I did to you?"

Kain hesitated briefly, then spoke in a low, uncertain voice.

"I want more than that... but when I think about it deeply, it’s terrifying. I have emotions that even make sick."

She added, sickening herself.

"Maybe love... love at first sight."

Silence fell.

Hector gulped. He wasn’t sure if there was sothing wrong with his ears. Tilting his head slightly, he asked,

"Y-You’re into ?"

Kain said nothing. She just stared at him, her eyes unreadable.

Hector scowled. So his assumptions about her had been wrong. But thinking about it again, the logic strangely fits. It explained why she had endured being molested by him—though not in the awkward way he had first imagined.

He rubbed his chin, thoughts racing. Finally, he asked,

"So... what do you want from now?"

He didn’t know whether her feelings were real or not. But her reaction made it seem as if she was barely holding herself back from killing him at this mont as if she wanted to talk with him for a little mont.

She bit her lip, emotions tangled and unclear.

"I want to burn you to ash and bury this fucking feeling."

In an instant, the atmosphere shifted, washing over him with a strange sensation—the presence of death.

She slowly drew her rapier, settling into a fighting stance.

Hector’s face scowled. He couldn’t believe Kain held such complicated feelings toward him.

That was bad.

Then his gaze shifted to her rapier—a weapon capable of lightning-fast swings and deadly precision.

Hector started to sweat.

In the novel, Kain was Violet’s right-hand person, which ant she had to be a strong fighter.

Despite being a fiery girl, she always kept a cool head in every situation—just like now.

Yet, when he thought about the emotions she was putting on him, Hector ca up with a special plan.

He would gamble.

"Kain, do you want to kill ? ...Then I have an offer for you."

Kain frowned in suspicion, but she still listened.

"A match of pure swordsmanship between you and . Whoever wins, wins everything."

Hector grinned and added,

"Of course, I’ll add one condition: not only does your team lose, but you also beco my maid."

Kain scowled in confusion.

"Are you insane? Do you really think victory is on your side to make that kind of offer? Besides, I can kill you right now. Why should I take such a complicated way to decide the winner?"

Hector shrugged in amusent.

"You’re right—but you’re wrong about one thing!"

He smirked while glancing at the runes in front of him.

[Your tower has reached level 3. I’ve sent backup for you. They’ll arrive in a mont.]

Soon, Kain’s expression twisted as she felt a tremor beneath her feet. She focused her mana into her eyes and stared into the distance.

"O-Orcs?.. K-Knights?"

Half a second later, she understood what Hector ant earlier.

"Y-you upgraded your tower... b-but how?"

It made no sense. Based on the number of forces and the types of monsters, she was certain Hector’s tower had reached at least level 3—but earning a golden coin in such a short ti was unbelievable.

She could guess that one mber of Hector’s team seed to have a blessing—or curse—related to drawing monsters’ attention.

But she didn’t worry. After all, she was simply too strong, and the enemy was too weak. It wasn’t overconfidence—it was the truth.

Yet when she looked at Hector’s sly, shaless face, a prickling, uncomfortable feeling spread through her heart again.

Just like before, when he had molested her.

Her expression darkened.

"I must kill you."
