While Kenza and her troops pushed to the rear, I stood so ters ahead of my forces, watching the orc forces slowly complete their formation.
From the looks of it, we were seconds away from starting the battle.
"Cage!" I called out in a cold voice.
It took a few seconds, but the man stepped out with a lot of stitches here and there. While they wiped his wounds, there were still blood marks on his scarred face, and for so reason, his hulking fra seed a bit smaller now. This ti, he wasn’t trying to appear big. He was like a child approaching a well-known cruel teacher, afraid he might get punished again.
"Y-yes?" he muttered in a shaky tone, but I didn’t even bother to spare him a glance.
"I’ll leave these n to you..." I said before looking over my shoulder to get a glimpse of him. "You claid you were experienced. Prove it."
With that said, I began walking forward, flexing my shoulder and stretching as I moved.
"W-what a-about y-you?"
The once proud First Lieutenant sounded like a timid cat, stuttering over his words. Maybe this had to do with the teeth he lost. It might be affecting his speech.
"What else?" I shrugged without looking back. "I am your first line of attack. I’ll tear through their lines and break that barricade..."
Buzz!
As I said those words, black fus exploded from my body, surging wildly while my veins began bulging. From the sea of darkness that filled my eyes, a piercing red light shone bright as my veins pulsated with power!
[Beserk Mode Activated]
[Blood Ignition Activated]
BANG!
The ground beneath my feet sank under my weight. Currently, my stat points were sowhere around 18. This was a level I was certain the Orc Berserker could never reach. At worst, I estimated his stats would be sowhere around 10 points or less.
Back then, my stats were as low as 7 or 8, even with Berserk mode, but I could nearly keep up with him in his normal form.
"And don’t hesitate to shoot because I’m in the frontlines... A little friendly fire won’t hurt."
With that said, I took a few more long strides forward, distancing myself from the human army, staring the Orc Berserker in the eyes. From its amused expression, it was clear this bastard recognized .
"I TOLD YOU I WOULD WIPE THAT SMILE OFF YOUR FACE THE NEXT TI WE ET!" I yelled at the top of my voice. "LET’S SETTLE OUR GRUDGE HERE, IN FAIR COMBAT!"
Buzz!
I could see the shock in the eyes of the Orc Beast Riders as they looked at their leader for a mont, after which the shock transitioned into excited smiles.
Bam!
An orc beast rider struck his shield with his war axe.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Soon, several orc beast riders began striking their shields, following an orderly rhythm.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Even the orc grunts at the back began striking their shields as well, joining the beast riders to egg their leader on.
Based on my limited knowledge of orcs, this was a warrior clan that respected strength over everything. War was more familiar to them than peace, and violence was part of their everyday life. To survive in such a chaotic community, one needed to be a warrior willing to jump into any battle without hesitation should the need arise.
anwhile, a human just challenged their commander—and he claid to have history with , which the commander didn’t deny. Following their laws and beliefs, it was expected he would accept this challenge.
No. He must accept that challenge to keep his position.
However, I was more worried an entire orc army understood English. These people could communicate in their language and we wouldn’t be able to understand, yet these beasts could easily understand ours. Whether Lee Bai was from this earth or another, how could he disrespect humans this way?
I watched as the Orc Berserker glanced over his shoulder, taking in the sight before returning his sharp gaze to .
"HUMAN... I ACCEPT!"
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!
His soldiers cheered, and without warning, the Orc Berserker’s wolf charged forward with a ferocious light in its eyes.
Bang!
The ground beneath my feet shattered under my weight as I shot forward like a missile, basically flying forward at low altitude. In seconds, the gap between us closed drastically, and I stomped the ground, propelling myself high into the air.
Pa!
Without hesitation, I grabbed Rai’ki and slashed forward while the Orc Berserker swung his battle axes at .
BOOOM!
A deafening sound erupted from the clash, creating a shockwave that sounded like a missile explosion!
BANG!
Gasps and cheers from the human side bood instantly as the Orc Berserker was knocked off his wolf mount, striking the ground so hard he bounced off and rolled a couple of tis before springing back to his feet.
Bam!
I landed on one knee, but as soon as I touched the ground, I felt the threat of death looming over from behind. A massive figure blocked the sun with its fra.
It was his mount!
ROAAAAAAAR!
The beast roared as it swiped its massive paw at from the side, but I perford a 180-degree spin while ducking low, tearing its belly open with Rai’ki!
Pfft!
Blood gushed out of its belly, and the beast decided to fall on with its massive fra, but I perford a difficult overhead kick, striking the beast square in the face and sending it hurling down the side of the bridge, striking the railings hard and even bending them!
Swoosh!
In an instant, I was in front of the enemy, driving my dusty boots into its exposed chest.
BOOOM!
The railings shattered under my kick, sending the beast off the bridge and into the Sabine River.
Splash!
Huff!
I exhaled deeply and turned to et the Orc Berserker’s gaze, only to see green fus pouring out of every opening in its body. With our initial clash, the difference in our strengths was clear for all to see. It didn’t dare hold back and instantly popped its Berserk mode!
"Now the fun begins." I grinned cruelly, red light beaming from my eyes.
The Orc Berserker grinned at this, tightening his grip on his weapons.
"Show what you can do... human!"
