The early morning light poured through the kitchen window, reminding that I had been here for hours, consuming alcohol all night without getting drunk.

The beer cans were six per pack, and I finished all three packs in the refrigerator.

I forgot to sleep—but how could I sleep?

In one night, I t Lee Bai, who I thought wanted dead, but he just wanted to chat.

And then Pala, who I also thought wanted dead—but she just wanted to bully a bit before dropping a career-ending mission on .

The taste of her lips was still fresh in my mouth, and the fragrance of her makeup was still visible on the palm I used to slap the living daylight out of her before threatening to sue for sexual assault.

She bailed so fast, I wondered if I would survive if she ca running at at that speed.

The old hag was trying to score a relationship with a young rising star.

Unfortunately for her, I’m not like the other n she’s seduced over the years in the academy.

"It does feel nice to get kissed again, though." I ran my fingertips across my lips as every mont of it flashed across my mind.

But I didn’t let such lustful thoughts linger for too long.

Pushing the thoughts aside, I began considering why she kissed in the first place.

Was she really trying to seduce for her personal gain, or was this an attempt to stick close and keep an eye on ?

If it went the way she wanted and we had a hot, steamy night, she’d have a reason to co back repeatedly—until things beca official.

Then she’d move in, hovering around all the ti and monitoring my movents.

Maybe I’m overthinking this—but I’m used to being suspicious of everything.

"But why do they want Arica to fail?" I muttered, shifting my gaze to the eighteen empty cans lined up in front of . "And why the hell am I not getting drunk?"

In regards to the task given to , I had no issue with it.

In fact, I didn’t care if a thousand soldiers died.

In my opinion, it’s not my problem, and I can justify it to my inexistent conscience by claiming thousands died to prevent millions of civilians from dying from a joint invasion by Russia and China.

However, it would be a dent in my career, and if not done properly, it could be the end of my career.

There was too much risk—for obviously no reward.

It’s not like the Watchers pay in cash or resources.

I’d probably get a pat on the back with a "Good job, we trust you now," as paynt for my effort.

"Calm down, Adam. If you want to take over the Watchers, you need to make them trust you and rise through the ranks." I reminded myself. "To see the person at the top, you need to reach the top. Only then can I snatch the group from him."

This job better pay with a promotion or I’m ratting them out.

Screech!

I frowned and glanced toward the kitchen door.

It was the sound of my gate opening.

Everything in this house operated with a key card, and so far, only , Jake, and Mandy had those cards.

If the gate was opening, it was probably them.

With nothing else to do, I decided to welco them.

I walked outside and watched my jeep roll up the driveway and head straight toward the garage at the right side of the building.

Following them from behind, I decided to wait in front of the garage and pulled out my phone.

6:34 a.m.

"This early?" I muttered.

I asked them to co back before 12 p.m., not to co back early.

Shuffling footsteps could be heard as they both erged from the garage—a complete ss.

My nose twitched at the sll of alcohol, and their hair was ssy.

"Big bro..." Jake’s voice trailed off, and his eyes instinctively avoided mine.

This was not the jovial kid who could turn any situation into a joke.

"Good morning..." Mandy’s voice was barely audible, and she also refused to et my gaze.

It was then I noticed her lipstick was smudged and her shirt loose because so buttons were missing.

Instinctively, my gaze shifted to Jake, who had red lipstick marks on his neck and shirt.

There was even a bite wound on his neck, which he tried to hide with his slacking collar.

Ding!

This ti it wasn’t the system but my head letting off alarms as I pieced two and two together, causing my eyes to widen in shock.

"You two..." I gasped, feeling genuine shock for the first ti in a while.

— Living Room —

Seated on the comfy sofa, I watched my two employees still avoiding eye contact while on their knees.

I was suffering from secondhand embarrassnt just by seeing how embarrassed they were.

"So, let get this straight." I rubbed my temple, which was beginning to hurt. "I sent you guys out to have fun, and you ended up sleeping with each other and giving each other hickeys?"

Jake shut his eyes tight, as if that would make the situation go away.

I ignored him and shifted my gaze to Mandy, who looked away before muttering so words:

"We rented rooms at the hotel and got so board gas. We played while drinking... We got drunk and things happened."

"Clearly, I can see that." I retorted, turning to Jake’s hickey—and he quickly covered it up with his palm.

Sigh.

Exhaling loudly, I laid back on the couch, wondering how my morning is far worse than last night.

I would rather fight Lee Bai and Pala combined than deal with this.

"But why play board gas when you have the funds to be at any club or social event of your choice?" I had to ask.

Bam!

Mandy hit Jake, probably telling him to answer.

I shifted my gaze to him, and he swallowed hard before speaking.

"We found out we were both introverted and hated loud or crowded places." He mumbled. His voice was even lower than Mandy’s.

Great!

I hired two introverts, and they ended up fucking each other on the first night out.

"At least tell you guys used protection?" I asked, while searching their faces for an answer.

It would be a serious problem if my only female employee turned up pregnant just after fa.

The dia would pounce on that news like hungry wolves.

"Protection?" Jake muttered as he turned to Mandy. "Did you use protection?"

Pa!

Mandy and I facepald.

I collapsed on the couch, looking toward the chandelier with an exhausted expression.

"Lord, take my life. But take these two first!"
