〔JACKPOT—LUCKY DRAW! In this pick, you gain three tiers of a gene instead of one! This is a gift from the God of Humanity. For improving strength, you have a choice of next genes: 'Horns III', 'Fire Breathing III', and 'Electrical Charge I->IV'.〕
〔Horns III: gives large multipurpose horns.〕
〔Fire Breathing III: allows spitting flammable liquid to a dium distance and in larger amounts.〕
〔Electrical Charge I->IV: increases voltage of the electrical discharge.〕
I gasped.
"This isn't bad luck at all! This is great luck, actually! How… I didn't think this was possible! Three tiers by the price of one attribute point? Just insane!"
"I didn't foresee this!" Undecided exclaid with a jolt. "Is that… good? I an, the genes—not the prophecy. The prophecy was all wrong!"
She huddled on herself and closed her eyes, probably going deep into the visions. The other Oracle in the room, Undecided's student-slash-assistant hovered over her with a worried expression.
I frowned and ssaged Attendant Helping-Hands, asking her to get Undecided so calming tea.
"This doesn't matter, Undecided," I assured her. "Please, rest and just observe for now."
She opened her eyes and nodded, still looking sad. Soon, an Attendant Bee flitted in and offered her a fresh cup of tea.
I turned back to the Council and read aloud the genes. Before I finished reading all the descriptions, I saw Bloodhero was almost itching to speak all this ti. I didn't need to read her thoughts to guess what she wanted to say.
"You are going to ask to buy 'fire breathing'," I said.
She nodded, then stared at earnestly and expectantly. In the background, the other Advisers were communicating in telepathic ssages.
"The Council supports this decision unanimously," Ambrosia declared a mont later.
I huffed.
"Yeah, I'm going to—no need to ask. It's an obvious choice. Fire-breathers are so of the best soldiers we have! And…" I grinned. "Breathing fire will be so damn cool."
Interestingly enough, the system showed that the "Fire Breathing" gene was a prerequisite for the "Pyrokinesis" gene, and the "Electric Charge" gene was a prerequisite for the "Electrokinesis" gene… But I assud that other prerequisites of these genes are too astronomical for bees to evolve them—or they were just incredibly rare.
Either way, I bought the gene and was imdiately addressed by the system.
