"Knock-knock"

"Who is it?" Fuko looked to her room door.

"Do I need a password?"

"Co in paranoiac," Fuko got up from her desk. Jotou opened the door and walked in wearing her nightgown. "What’s going on?"

"What? I can’t just hang out?" the blonde giggled and sat on her bed.

"Yeah, you can," she sat at her desk again. "But I know there’s sothing else."

Jotou sighed and fell into Fuko’s bed, "You needed so alone ti to think at the academy. Figured sothing out?"

"Kinda, actually," she held a hand to her chin.

"What is it?" her blonde strands fanned out on the pillow. The window outside giving glimpses of the streetlamps outside.

"I need more ti to put it into words I think," she eyed the blonde. "I saw you and my dad talking when Tiffany was giving the tour, what was that about?"

"Tiffany?" Jotou knitted her brows. "Oh, the drama class girl?"

"Yeah, I went to her for a full tour."

"And here I thought you just wandered back to us. Enjoyed the tour then?"

"Yeah," she affird. "I did."

"That’s good at least," the blonde bead. "About your dad," Jotou grew serious.

"I was about to call you out on that."

Jotou stuck her tongue out. "When are you gonna talk to him about the case? All that confidence yesterday?"

"I..." the brunette removed her elbow off her desk. "What’s this have to do with you talking to my dad?"

"It’s about the cult."

Fuko gave her full attention to Jotou on the bed.

"Your dad asked what I knew about ghosts. He thought it would be worth a shot, asking the one who ca back from the dead. He told the case was classified.

I guessed it was the cult, but he didn’t deny it. Just said he only had assumptions, no hard evidence. He also told not to dig into this and to stay away."

"Ghosts?" Fuko held a hand to her chin and furrowed her brows much tighter, "We’re dealing with ghosts?"

"Maybe. More importantly, maybe this can be a way for us to get so info about the case. I an, he said he had no problem telling us things about the cult’s case, considering what we’ve done. I think he slipped up."

"No. You don’t know my dad," Fuko denied. "He only says what he wants you to know, without the fifty other details working in that head of his.

He doesn’t, ’slip up’ when it cos to a case. He carefully chooses the intel he wants to share. Chances are he’s already fooled you or maybe that question doesn’t even matter and he got so other info out of you without you knowing.

That’s how he works. If you said anything, there’s no way he didn’t get so clue out of it."

"Yeah, given his title, I suspected that a little," Jotou sighed. "Even though this case is supposed to be kept under wraps. D’you think your dad’s trying to get us to work on it?

Without tipping off any authorities that this intel was leaked? He’s saying not to get involved, but in reality..."

"He’s trying to lead us to the right track? But why not just tell us directly then? The intel’s already been leaked if that’s the issue."

"I’m not sure. But it’s possible, isn’t it?"

"Could be. I wouldn’t be surprised if he figured out we rummaged through the docunts in the floorboards yesterday," Fuko pursed her lips. "Or the snitch confessed."

"I doubt Kineko said much about it," Jotou lifted herself off the bed.

"You never know..."

Jotou walked up to the side of the door, "What’s this?" she saw red dashes drawn on the wall going up.

Fuko blinked to the position, "Oh, it’s nothing," she pouted.

Next to the dashes were numbers, "Wait a minute," she looked to the highest dash mark and looked to the top of Fuko’s head.

"Stop it."

Jotou looked to the number next to the line.

"Stop analysing!"

"You’ve been this tall since you were fourteen?" Jotou raised her brows.

"Get out of my room!"

"What?" the blonde chuckled. "I think it’s adorable, I’m not making fun of you."

"Out!" Fuko shoved her out the door and shut it.

Jotou giggled, "Night detective~"

"Goodnight," she grumbled back. She heard the footsteps walk off and sighed. She silently walked towards her bad and sat down.

"...To hell with it. I gotta just ask dad, I can’t keep saying I’m thinking about it. I don’t care what he says—I’m taking on this case," she assured herself.

The brunette then gave a look of guilt... Her toes folded and she glanced to her pillow. Her hand reached out to grab it before she brought it up to her nose.

She gently inhaled the scent of thundering blitzes leftover on the fabric. It was, refreshing and calming... However, she placed the pillow back with a shake of her head. "I’m trying Daiyu... I am," she whispered.

"How do I get into school?" Asobi asked at the dining table.

Hotaru’s ears bristled, "School...? Sobi, it’s a bit late for you sadly. I’m glad you’re interested, but you’re probably not gonna get into Year 1 at twenty-one."

"Actually, there’s a way. It’s not traditional by any ans," Kazuo Namora told from the kitchen.

"Really!?" the magician hopped up from the table and leaned against the wall of the entrance to the kitchen, "How?"

"You’re serious about this?" Hotaru turned her head.

"Mhm!"

"It’s rather simple. To get a high school diploma, you just have to pass the entrance exam and get through eleven final exams. Normally, kids have a harder process to get access to do sothing like that.

You have to count extracurricular activities, health checkups, behavioural patterns and so on. The ti spent in schooling matters and there’s a lot more things that need docunts and signatures.

For an adult, with approval and proper docunts given to the schoolboard, you’d just have to privately take and pass all the exams," Kazuo explained while cleaning up the dishes.

"All eleven?" Asobi hid her head slightly.

"Twelve, including the entrance exam. But, also consider that the majority of them are aid at kids much younger and has basic subjects."

"No, we really shouldn’t consider that..." Hotaru voiced. "Sobi, what’s five tis three?"

"Huh?" she squeaked.

"I see, I retract my statent then. Still, that’s simple mathematics, not unteachable," Kazuo argued.

"For twelve exams back-to-back? It might be hard to teach, but why do you want to do that Asobi? You already have a career," Hotaru queried.

Kazuo frowned, "Or are you more so wanting a school-life?"

"Mmm, going to school ans you’re educated. If you’re educated, you get to learn more things and I want to understand a lot more things—and beco smarter," she explained.

"You don’t need school to beco smarter, it’s mutually exclusive," a voice echoed from the stairs.

"Jotou, don’t discourage her," Hotaru responded.

"Am not, just clarifying it."

"I understand!" Asobi replied back up.

"If you want to Asobi, then, sure. It’s not an issue," Hotaru’s fangs glistened. "Detective Namora, I can prepare Asobi’s docunts, do we have enough ti before the next enrolnt deadline for the academy?"

"The enrolnt keeps going till mid-spring. Regardless, you’d be studying on your own, not with the academy’s classes. I think you can use their facilities though," he answered.

"Great then. I’ll prepare your docunts then Sobi."

"Yay! Thank you!"
