At this very mont, Daniel was also burdened with another layer of worry—he was concerned about whether his future self would even continue to exist.
Based on the information Mist had provided earlier, it seed that the gods of Backworld could potentially replace one’s original self completely, and this kind of event was not rare in this world.
So, at least for now, Daniel was safe, but what would happen in the future was sothing he could not predict.
The only fortunate thing was that Luna was still in his possession, and for the ti being, she was safe.
However, Daniel was about to step into the Land of Twisted Minds, which was a place fraught with danger.
In Backworld, Daniel was cautious about flying, for there were many powerful demigods from the Ancient God Pantheon.
Though the Ancient God Pantheon might seem relatively weaker, they were still demigods, and especially without being weakened, Daniel did not believe he could handle them. So, this ti, he was being extrely careful and vigilant.
Based on the information Mist had given him, and combining it with his repeated trips back to the past, particularly to the most primitive origins, Daniel had a hypothesis. He believed that the current Backworld might actually be the Land of Origin from ancient tis.
This was because the Ancient God Pantheon had erged during the ancient era of the Land of Origin.
Moreover, the ascension path of the Ancient God Pantheon was completely different from the modern god system.
But Daniel didn’t know why, the scope of Backworld seed to have shrunk dramatically compared to what he had seen when he traveled back into the past.
Of course, there was another possibility: the collisions between planes had caused the fragntation of many regions, and the current Land of Origin might be part of Backworld.
As Daniel speculated, he was very clear that this was not reality.
Still, he had a simpler way to enter the Land of Twisted Minds—by using the teleportation array left by Luke.
In the City of Luck, Luke had already set up teleportation arrays leading to various Forbidden Lands.
Daniel couldn’t help but feel that his old friends were truly considerate, and with that thought, he made his way to one of the teleportation arrays, specifically the one that led to the Land of Twisted Minds.
To his surprise, there was a stone tablet standing in front of the teleportation array. The inscription on it matched Daniel’s judgnt exactly, but the one who had left it there was none other than Mist herself.
It seed that Mist also believed that if one had to enter a Forbidden Land, the Land of Twisted Minds was the most appropriate choice.
With that realization, there was no need for further hesitation. Daniel walked straight into the center of the teleportation array.
The next mont, he felt the scenery around him shift.
When his vision refocused, he found himself standing at the edge of a mountain range.
However, unlike the familiar mountain ranges he had seen before, this one gave the impression of being in a swamp.
The once-flowing earth seed to have been bound by so kind of law, causing it to converge into a mountain.
But when stepping on it, Daniel could still feel the muddy nature of the terrain. He furrowed his brow and tried to float above the ground as much as possible, not wanting his shoes to touch the filthy surface.
At the sa ti, Daniel noticed a familiar prompt from the Eye of Insight. The information it provided read:
[Mountain of Corruption]
The na was indeed fitting! Everywhere he looked, the mountain was covered in filth, and the entire mountain was surrounded by a translucent, enormous protective shield.
Large ants, the size of tigers, sward every part of the mountain.
Though Daniel had seen many strange things in his life, this bizarre scene still overwheld him.
What kind of place was this? And the laws here felt incredibly distorted.
Aside from the giant ants, Daniel could not sense any other life forms.
Since this was a Forbidden Land, Daniel knew he had to be extra cautious. He imdiately used his mind power to carefully scan the surroundings.
After doing so, he proceeded cautiously, sending out several clones to scout the path ahead.
However, to Daniel’s surprise, what he thought would be a perilous journey turned out to be rather uneventful. The Mountain of Corruption, while repugnant, did not seem to present any imdiate danger.
Of course, the lack of danger ant his advancent ritual had not yet begun.
Was it necessary to venture deeper?
Daniel furrowed his brow, formulating a new hypothesis.
While he was almost certain that continuing deeper into the Land of Twisted Minds would bring even higher risks, he had no other choice.
The reality was that Daniel’s current predicant was one where Ti Stream alone could not fully avoid the dangers.
Looking at the enormous mountain that lood ahead, Daniel hesitated for a mont before finally taking a step forward.
As soon as his foot touched the ground, he felt a corrupt, twisted presence erge in his mind.
This was not just a single presence; rather, it was a collective of corrupt, twisted thoughts converging into one.
But for Daniel, this posed no real threat.
He easily used Purification, cleansing away the twisted thoughts that had erged.
After dealing with this issue, Daniel sighed in relief.
As long as Purification still worked, then the problems here weren’t too complicated.
Looking at it from another angle, the fact that Purification was still effective made sense.
After all, this was a God Rank Skill, inherently possessing god-like power.
And with Purification being ranked so highly, it was clear that even now, Daniel had not fully unleashed its power.
But even so, when dealing with the Land of Twisted Minds, it was more than sufficient.
After confirming that he was fine, Daniel exhaled deeply.
His body remained suspended in the air, not touching the filthy, muddy ground.
However, with every step forward, he could feel the persistent sensation of mud underfoot—this feeling was similar to the corrupt thoughts that had erged in his mind.
Thankfully, with Purification in play, Daniel could almost entirely resist this constant invasion.
He wasn’t sure if he had technically entered the Forbidden Land yet.
But when Daniel checked his task status, he couldn’t help but sigh softly.
Clearly, the countdown had not started, and the task had not yet triggered.
It seed that he would have to venture further into the Forbidden Lands.
