Backworld—it turned out to be a steam-based creation?
A flicker of astonishnt passed through Daniel’s eyes, but before he could process it, a surge of white steam, mixed with the rumbling of machinery, interrupted his thoughts.
He slowly raised his head and stepped deeper into the realm of Backworld.
He was eager to find out what had transpired in this place!
However, the mont Daniel entered Backworld, the entire space began to twist.
No, to be more precise, it wasn’t really twisting—it was rearranging in a way that was utterly beyond comprehension.
It felt as though Daniel were in an underground labyrinth. But this labyrinth was not flat—rather, it was entirely three-dinsional!
This bizarre spatial sensation made Daniel furrow his brows involuntarily.
In his mind, he couldn’t help but recall the endless, repeating corridors he had once seen sowhere.
So... this is what Backworld is like?
It seed rather unremarkable.
Daniel smirked, but his expression grew more serious as he continued his observations.
He could sense that the surrounding plane space was not entirely stable. In fact, it felt like the space could collapse at any mont!
As he scanned the environnt, Daniel moved swiftly through the internal labyrinth of Backworld.
For him, finding the exit of this underground maze wasn’t too difficult.
As he released his mind power, it easily covered a vast area, making it effortless to find the exit—finding anything else within was no challenge at all!
Just as he had expected, under the influence of his mind power, he quickly discerned the location of the exit.
However, when he stepped out of the exit, he was completely shocked by the scene that unfolded before him!
In front of Daniel stood a vibrant, living city!
Everywhere he looked, there was a bustling atmosphere. He could even see plants and small animals running and playing on the streets!
This... this is really Backworld?
Daniel’s lips twitched slightly. According to the information he had previously gathered, Backworld had always been a terrifying place—especially to the gods, who were deeply afraid of its existence.
Yet, why did it feel so different now? He didn’t feel much fear at all.
Instead, there was a strange sense of calm... a faint beauty even?
Daniel shook his head, feeling that sothing was off.
He decided to use his mind power to cover the entire city. However, after a brief mont, his expression grew increasingly serious!
There was definitely sothing odd about this city!
When Daniel used his mind power to cover the entire area, he expected to find more people. But in reality, the only figure still active in the city was the pope in the cathedral, chanting prayers.
Aside from the pope, there was no one else in the entire city.
Could it be that the pope in the cathedral was actually so kind of monster?
Or perhaps...
Just as Daniel was pondering whether he should enter the city and investigate further, the clock atop the cathedral suddenly let out a deep, muffled chi.
Almost instantly, Daniel sensed a figure speeding toward his location with incredible speed!
Wait, was this an enemy attack, or...?
Daniel was surprised, but he didn’t feel concerned about his safety.
What was the point of worrying? With his current power, he could easily use Flashback, a form of instant teleportation.
There was no need to worry about his safety. What intrigued him was the sudden appearance of this figure.
Even if there were a real danger, Daniel could use Flashback to escape imdiately.
If that didn’t work, he could always use Ti Stream to go back to any mont!
Thus, Daniel stood in an absolutely unassailable position.
He was curious to see what this so-called Backworld had in store.
In Daniel’s perception, the figure should be appearing in front of him very soon.
If all went according to plan, it would appear in three seconds.
3... 2...
But at that mont, Daniel’s pupils suddenly contracted!
He felt as though ti itself was being affected.
What should have been a re second felt like it had stretched into an eternity!
And that final second seed to be repeating infinitely!
This person—no, this entity—had the power to manipulate ti?!
At that very mont, the figure finally appeared before him.
But what Daniel saw shocked him to his core!
The figure wasn’t human.
It was a puppet!
Yes, it was indeed a bishop, but also a puppet.
At that mont, the puppet’s obsidian eyes fixed on Daniel, staring at him intently.
Although the eyes were made of obsidian, Daniel felt as though the puppet was truly watching him!
A chill ran down his spine as he imdiately activated Eye of Insight, trying to discern the nature of this being.
However, with the slowdown in ti, understanding the figure didn’t happen instantly.
But Daniel had anticipated this delay.
Eye of Insight didn’t take too long to activate, so he simply remained on high alert and waited a few monts.
As ti ticked on, Daniel maintained his vigilance.
The puppet bishop, however, remained completely still after appearing, almost as if it were just a regular puppet.
After a few anxious monts, Eye of Insight finally began to show results.
Daniel was about to let out a sigh of relief, but his expression instantly darkened!
Under the effect of Eye of Insight, the area before him was completely empty. There was nothing there!
But... how could this giant puppet bishop be standing right there, and yet nothing was showing up?
For a mont, Daniel’s mind was flooded with countless thoughts.
Who was this puppet bishop?
He had never seen it before.
Moreover, why had it co after him? What was its purpose? Was this the work of Mist or Kartora?
After a brief mont of contemplation, Daniel decided to use Ti Stream to return to the ti just before he was about to take on the title of Human Emperor.
At that ti, his strength was still formidable, and most importantly, the events that followed hadn’t yet ensnared him.
He hadn’t yet participated in the Human Emperor trial, nor had he t Mist or Kartora.
