Xu Si indeed remained motionless. Living under soone else’s roof, well, she could still endure it. This man was truly capricious. One mont, he was speaking calmly and reasonably; the next, he was like a tyrant from another world.

She also hadn’t planned to continue acting like a ek, submissive lamb to make him soften up and let her go. It was aningless.

From the mont she got in the car, she understood: a man this violent and willful couldn’t possibly be into anything like pure love.

The luxury car drove through one solemn, secluded district after another. Sotis, even Xu Si, an outsider, could tell that the areas they were passing through weren’t Triad Society territory, yet mbers of other gangs rely stood by, watching them leave.

Everywhere seed to be the domain of the Underground City. And for this man, there were no taboos; everything was unobstructed for him.

He had told her to co with him. Xu Si didn’t know where she would be taken, as these people seed to highly value the privacy of their domains, and she did not ask further.

In the dimly lit car, with the overhead light off, she could only see the even darker street scenes outside the windows, listlessly waiting for the ride to end.

As she watched, she noticed sothing strange.

Since entering the Triad Society’s district, all the greenery and trees were of the sa species. There were no additional floral decorations, making it very monotonous.

She asked aloud, "What kind of tree is this?"

The silver-haired man answered her indifferently, "Blue Eucalyptus."

Xu Si was taken aback.

She seed to have heard this tree’s na sowhere before. It seed to recall it from so gardening book, which said: *"There is a tree called Blue Eucalyptus; it is toxic and domineering, killing all surrounding plants, but it allows only one type of bird to roost."*

It was because of this overbearing and suffocating symbolism that Xu Si had so impression of it.

Moreover, Xu Si felt that this toxic and domineering attribute was particularly like the man holding her hand beside her.

The car journey was not short, and the atmosphere wasn’t completely silent like a tomb; the bald man and the silver-haired man had a few brief exchanges. Through their conversation, Xu Si finally understood that they were heading to the center of the Triad Society, the silver-haired man’s true stronghold.

Just as she had guessed, the man held an extrely high position in the Triad Society, and his living quarters were different from those of Chen Mo and his people.

The car drove through buildings with strange designs interconnected by long bridges, directly entering a courtyard that resembled a castle.

The man led her by the hand out of the car, escorting her step by step towards the castle.

Just after passing through a towering, giant gate, he didn’t proceed inside. Instead, he gestured to a servant to take Xu Si to a guest room, then released the hand that had been restraining her, intending to leave.

In such a desolate night, Xu Si calmly caught his sleeve, her eyes wary as she asked, "Where are you going? Weren’t you going to protect ?"

If he was going to leave, in this dangerous place, she wanted to ask for the gun he had once given her as a gift.

"Heh." The man slightly lifted a hand, resting it on her pale neck. "I’ll be nearby. Don’t wander off; this place is full of villains, more so than in Gambling City. Bullets don’t have eyes; be careful not to get shot and killed."

He caressed her skin, noticing that a light touch left a crimson mark. He withdrew his hand, his cool, pale fingers casually holding the Scepter, and quickly departed the mansion. In the drizzling, rainy night, his stride was reckless and unrestrained, embodying the carefree deanor of one in a high position.

There were no female servants in this mansion; all were n with ghost-faced tattoos.

Xu Si was still sowhat unaccustod to this.

Fortunately, they were quite polite to her, leading her into a spacious and luxurious room and even preparing a change of clothes for her.

However, the attire was unlike Xu Si’s usual style.

Even the nightgown was a sexy camisole style of white gauze and lace. The color was pure, certainly, but not a ’proper’ kind of pure; instead, it resembled the attire of a seductive woman in a pictorial.

The servant said, "For the ti being, these are the only styles available for purchase in the Underground City."

Xu Si paid it no mind. Closing her weary, languid eyes, she collapsed onto the vast bed as if unable to control herself, sleeping until two in the morning before waking.

When she opened her eyes, she suddenly saw the room door was ajar!
