Chapter 501: Chapter 501: Have you been lying to all along?

The flas illuminated the entire palace, as well as Zhan Lan’s bright face.

Suddenly, Zhan Lan heard a voice behind her, “ngng.”

Zhan Lan was stunned; she must have missed Mu Yan so much that she conjured up this illusion.

It was Mu Yan’s voice, sounding so real behind her. Zhan Lan didn’t dare to turn around, fearing that if she did, he wouldn’t be there, leaving her more disappointed.

The heat from the fire surged forward, and Zhan Lan stepped back. Suddenly, she heard again, “ngng.”

Zhan Lan’s throat choked, and turning quickly, she saw Mu Yan dressed in silver armor, his hem bloodstained, standing before her with a blood-soaked longsword in hand.

Mu Yan, upon seeing Zhan Lan, raised the corner of his lips, his eyes full of tenderness.

Zhan Lan couldn’t regain her composure for a long ti until Mu Yan dropped the sword and quickly stepped forward, placing his right hand on her cheek.

The icy touch brought Zhan Lan back to her senses completely, and in the next mont, Mu Yan cupped her face with both hands. Her lips softened as Mu Yan kissed her, and she finally regained her senses.

Mu Yan was not dead!

Zhan Lan suddenly pushed Mu Yan away, her fist hitting his shoulder.

“You madman, you scared to death!” Tears welled up in Zhan Lan’s eyes.

Mu Yan clasped her hand, and with a gentle tug, pulled her into his embrace.

Finally holding the person he had missed for so long tightly in his arms, Mu Yan said softly in her ear, “Lan’er, I made you worry. Once we return ho, you can do as you wish with .”

Holding Zhan Lan tightly, he continued, “I killed the king of Western Rong and escaped through a secret path. There’s no need to worry anymore.”

Every palace has secret passages, but Mu Yan already knew the escape route, indicating that he had soone inside the Western Rong palace.

Zhan Lan pushed him away, carefully checking for any injuries on him.

Mu Yan’s eyes were deep, the mole at the corner adding an enticing hint under the firelight. He looked at Zhan Lan with a playful smile, “I’m fine. Do you like the gift I sent you?”

Zhan Lan glared at him, “Don’t do that again next ti.”

Mu Yan wanted to help Zhan Lan remove the quiver and bow from her back, as these items hindered him from holding Lan’er.

Suddenly, Zhan Lan noticed a shadow moving in the distance. She imdiately drew her bow and arrow, and Mu Yan also spotted the shadow.

Arrows flew towards the two of them.

Swiftly protecting Zhan Lan, Mu Yan twisted his body to evade the sneak attack, drawing three arrows from Zhan Lan’s quiver. In one fluid motion, he held her hand from behind, nocked the three arrows, and shot them towards the shadows.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Three arrows flew together!

A scream erged from the darkness.

Zhan Lan couldn’t comprehend how Mu Yan shot three arrows simultaneously.

Mu Yan released her hand, kicked a sword off the ground, and charged towards the shadows.

Zhan Lan swiftly reached his side, finding three Western Rong cavalryn lying dead on the ground, each with an arrow in the heart.

Those arrows were shot out when Mu Yan held her hand.

She looked at Mu Yan in astonishnt. Mu Yan, eyes flickering, explained, “Well, in tis of crisis, I always perform exceptionally.”

Watching his evasive eyes, Zhan Lan recalled that Mu Yan had called her Master, asking her to teach him archery.

Yet he could clearly shoot three arrows with one draw!

Zhan Lan was utterly embarrassed, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into.

Mu Yan’s archery skills were already masterful, yet he pretended to be clueless in front of her.

With reddened cheeks, Zhan Lan said angrily, “Mu Yan, have you been lying to this whole ti?”

Seeing Zhan Lan’s furious eyes, Mu Yan apologized imdiately, “I’m sorry, Lan’er. It’s my fault, actually I…”

“What else are you hiding from ? You just love to prank !” Zhan Lan put down her bow and arrow, grabbing a spear and heading out.

Mu Yan chased after her relentlessly, embracing her from behind, his warm breath tickling her ear, as he apologized, “I’m sorry, Lan’er… Actually, I am your Master.”

“You are not… Wait, what did you say?” Zhan Lan’s pupils widened as she turned to look at him.

Mu Yan held a smile at the corner of his lips, “Lan’er, you said you would treat like your own father. Are you going back on your word now?”

“?” Zhan Lan was bewildered. When did she ever say that?

“You also called big brother, rember? What’s wrong, trying to deny now?” Mu Yan asked with a hurt tone.

Zhan Lan finally recalled, turning to see a playful smile hanging on Mu Yan’s lips.

“Mu Yan, are you the masked Master of mine?”

The smile at the corner of Mu Yan’s lips deepened, “Yes, I’m the Master you defy every night.”

Zhan Lan was both angry and amused, feeling a turmoil of emotions within her.

What kind of fate did she share with Mu Yan!

She was actually Mu Yan’s disciple!

“You’ve known I was the… Lan’er all along, haven’t you?” Zhan Lan felt guilty for having used a false na earlier on.

Mu Yan nodded, “I discovered it before we got married. Your arrogant little finger always sticks up, and it hasn’t changed over the years.”

Zhan Lan blushed, “You you you…”

She stamred, finding herself at a loss for words, realizing she had married her own Master.

Her Master was Mu Yan!

Nothing could shock her more than this revelation!

“Not angry anymore?” Mu Yan held her hand.

Zhan Lan snorted, “Unless you teach to shoot three arrows with one draw!”

Mu Yan chuckled, “If the wife wants to learn, the husband will naturally teach.”

The sounds of battle grew fainter in the distance, and Zhan Lan saw that the Zhan Family Army had taken the palace.

The Zhan Family Army combined with Mu Yan’s forces were unbeatable.

Zhan Lan had a ton of questions for Mu Yan, but now wasn’t the ti for conversation. She looked towards the Western Rong king’s harem, “Mu Yan, I need to find soone.”

Mu Yan raised an eyebrow, “Is her na Gai Yina?”

Zhan Lan’s pupils widened. Nothing could be hidden from Mu Yan.
