Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes Chapter 413: You Want Evidence? I Have It
Only Nancy Allen understood what Basil Smith was talking about, and she slightly raised her eyebrow.
Basil Smith moved quickly, uncovering the truth so fast.
After seeing that post, Nancy knew Clent was plotting against her. At the ti, she was already considering leaving Imperial Garden, so she didn’t expose him, using it as an opportunity to leave.
Now that she discovered the truth about the dual personality, she returned. She hadn’t thought about how to deal with Clent yet, but Basil Smith had already found out first.
It seed like Basil was late coming ho today because he was investigating this matter.
Clent was still stubborn: "Basil Smith, perhaps you’ve misunderstood sothing, I didn’t do anything. I know that you have significant influence in Imperial Garden, but when you speak, you need evidence. You can’t just falsely accuse people."
Basil Smith shook his head and instructed the bodyguard beside him, "Bring them up."
Soon, the bodyguard appeared with two won.
Those were the two Capital City socialites who had been detained at Imperial Garden for a long ti.
After they ran away, they changed into glamorous clothes and were ready to flee at the airport when they got caught.
At this mont, realizing they were brought back to Imperial Garden, they were utterly terrified and helpless.
Basil Smith asked coldly, "Why don’t you two explain? When you did this, were you instructed by soone? The reporters and fans were contacted under your nas, and now everything falls on your shoulders. This ti, two months’ detention won’t suffice as a solution."
Clent’s face changed: "Basil Smith, what do you an, are you deliberately inducing them to identify soone?"
The two won had lost all thoughts of resistance, intending to beg for rcy, but upon hearing Clent speak, one of them suddenly looked up at him.
The woman shouted, "It was him, it was him. I rember his voice. He was the one who let us go, suggested creating chaos and leaving amidst it. No one would notice us. Though he was thoroughly disguised, I saw a small cut on his index finger."
Clent’s fingers slightly curled, his face was constantly changing.
When he initially approached these two won, he wore a hat and mask, never expecting they would observe so keenly.
Basil Smith looked at Clent coldly: "Do you have anything to say now?"
Everyone looked at Clent in disbelief.
Clent was an old hand in Imperial Garden, one of the core confidants.
Those considered close to Godfery Shaw were selected ticulously, and no one had ever betrayed in all these years.
Moreover, Clent was usually quiet with a shy deanor.
Clent knew there was no use denying it now. Tears instantly stread down as he cried: "Indeed, I let those two won go because they looked pitiful and hadn’t committed any heinous cris. Being detained for so long was enough. I wanted to let them run away amidst the chaos. I never intended for the Young Madam to get lost."
Letting the two won go wasn’t serious, but causing Nancy to go missing was accidental.
Clent had long prepared a justification for his mistakes to exonerate himself.
This way, even if punished, it wouldn’t be too severe.
But Basil Smith shook his head: "Clent, all these years, the young master hasn’t treated you poorly. Yet, you still won’t admit it? What made the Young Madam agitated when she saw on the computer, wasn’t it you?"
Clent’s heart skipped a beat.
Letting the two won go was nothing major.
But posting those things to Nancy, deliberately provoking her, was a colossal mistake. If proven true, he would be finished. He could never admit to this.
Clent cried pitifully: "Basil Smith, what are you talking about, I really don’t understand. I have no reason to do such things. Who claims I did it, let them confront ."
There’s eyewitness evidence regarding the won, but for the posts, there were no witnesses.
As Imperial Garden’s dedicated hacker, Clent was confident about his technical skills.
He believed there were no traces left of his past actions, assuming no evidence could exist.
Basil Smith angrily said: "As a tech personnel in Imperial Garden, you manage the network firewall. Who else but you could let the Young Madam see things she shouldn’t have? After Hailey Smith handed you the computer to check what the Young Madam saw, you not only didn’t investigate but erased all traces, correct?"
There’s no denying, Basil Smith, being the strategic advisor of Imperial Garden, truly had a sharp mind.
Even without witnessing, his deduced truth was quite close.
Seeing Basil Smith couldn’t produce evidence, Clent felt less nervous, calmly saying: "Even the best tech personnel can make slight errors. I did nothing. You need evidence to accuse , don’t wrongfully convict."
Behind his lenses, Basil Smith’s eyes slightly squinted.
He indeed had no evidence, only disclosing this truth based on deductions from series of events.
Clent felt sowhat complacent.
At that mont, Nancy innocently said: "Do you need evidence of those posts? I have it!"
Clent sharply turned his head towards Nancy, eyes wide open.
With a smile, Nancy nonchalantly remarked: "Getting evidence is quite simple. Didn’t I ever tell everyone I’m skilled at network tracking? If soone left a trace in my computer, I could find a way to trace it back. Luna, go to the room and bring my laptop."
Clent, gripping his fists in anxiety, told himself to stay calm and not lose composure.
He assud she was bluffing; how could a clueless girl possibly trace him?
Luna quickly ran and fetched Nancy’s laptop.
Nancy opened her laptop and swiftly operated on it.
Clent suddenly thought of sothing. During the second post to Nancy, his computer was hacked by soone. Could it really have been Nancy?
That hacker was more skilled than him, how could it be this useless woman before him!
Clent beca restless.
As Nancy was typing code, she suddenly laughed, looking at Clent, she tapped the last key.
Clent’s unopened computer suddenly emitted a cartoonish voice.
"It was , it’s , I’m the bad person..."
Clent’s face turned ashen.
At this point, saying anything was futile.
He dropped to his knees with a thud, crying: "I... I didn’t an to, I just knew the Young Madam’s condition needed stimulation for faster recovery, I wanted her to recover, I had no ill intentions."
Clent appeared genuinely emotional.
Basil Smith didn’t bother to look, coldly replied: "You admit it now."
Clent, typically reticent and slightly shy due to being sowhat younger, was cared for by everyone in Imperial Garden.
Seeing Clent now on his knees, crying so pitifully, stirred empathy amongst everyone.
Hailey Smith, unable to stand it, said: "Brother, maybe he really didn’t an it. Didn’t aunt’s uncle ntion it before? Through stimulation, the Young Madam could more easily recover to normal. Jacob might have ant well but acted poorly."
Basil Smith scoffed: "ant well? If I tell you, that ti with Hardy’s bomb, Clent could have defused it in ten seconds, would you still believe he ant well?"
Clent’s sobs abruptly paused.
How could Basil Smith know about that, no one should have known!
Hailey’s eyes widened at Clent, incredulous, asking: "Clent, tell , did you really do that insane thing?"
