In another room, inside Emma’s.

Since Emma didn’t want to wear a dress and strongly opposed it, the chosen wedding dress was a very simple and slightly androgynous one. It looked quite nice on Emma, adding an aura of allure that defied gender boundaries.

After getting into the wedding dress, then ca makeup, and even the short hair was styled and decorated.

Emma endured with a sullen face.

The stylists were all very anxious, fearing that this young lady might suddenly beco unwilling and decide to drop everything.

Just as the ti was approaching, Emma realized that Basil had sent a ssage beforehand, saying he’d be coming over later.

Emma exploded instantly!

She was dressed in a restrictive wedding dress and was already anxious. Of course, she wouldn’t admit to being nervous; soone usually so brash, admitting to wedding jitters, risked being ridiculed.

And now Basil was coming late!

Unbearable!

Emma yanked off the veil, slamd the door shut, and changed her wedding dress into a white suit, removing all the adornnts and finally putting the bridal boutonniere back on.

After changing, she opened the door.

The stylists and makeup artists were all stunned.

But before they could say anything, Emma strode out.

At this mont, Nancy was resting on a bench and saw Emma storming towards her, followed by a large group of people.

Emma’s nerves eased a bit upon seeing Nancy.

Nancy was leaning back, her long skirt draping over her feet, lightly swaying like a lazy rmaid’s tail. Hearing footsteps, Nancy looked up, a strand of hair dancing across her cheek.

Nancy looked at Emma with a puzzled expression, silently asking what was going on.

Emma smiled and astonishingly said, "Nancy, co with to fetch the groom!"

Nancy stared blankly at Emma, "?"

Everyone else, including Mr. Allen and Mrs. Allen, also gaped at Emma, "??"

They were all ready, just waiting for the groom’s side to co and fetch her, but Emma wanted to fetch the groom herself, what on earth?

Mrs. Lewis awkwardly said, "Emma, can’t we just be straightforward today? Marriage is a big deal, not a ga."

Emma seriously answered, "I am being straightforward. No one said the bride must wait for the groom to fetch her. Why can’t I go personally? I just want a unique wedding."

Mrs. Lewis still wanted to persuade her.

But Mr. Lewis decisively said, "Alright, I think it’s fine. Why can’t we go fetch them? My Emma wants to go fetch the groom, so we’re going."

With Mr. Lewis’s approval, Mrs. Lewis reluctantly nodded in agreent.

Everyone present was shocked.

It was known that the Lewis parents doted on their daughter in a nouveau riche style, but no one expected them to indulge her in such a way, agreeing to such whimsical requests.

Nancy was still sitting there, dazed.

Emma went over and helped Nancy up, "What are you still standing around for, co with ! You’re part of the friends’ entourage, co along."

Nancy got up, and with the nod from Mr. and Mrs. Lewis, she followed Emma out in a daze.

And with that, the whole group set off in great fanfare.

Nancy thought for a mont and decided to send a ssage to Godfery Shaw to let him know.

Godfery was just about to contact Nancy when Hailey found him. He received the ssage, stood stunned for a few seconds, and looked at Basil, who was still cursing Hailey. Given the delay, he thought, they could wait a bit longer; no need to inform Basil just yet.

Basil continued scolding Hailey, who had been missing and returned in a disheveled state.

Whether it was due to so bad experience or realizing she delayed her brother’s wedding, Hailey stayed silent under Basil’s reprimands.

Basil was stern with his criticism, but seeing Hailey like this, he also felt worried and distressed.

After the reprimand, they were already late, so he let Hailey take a shower and change clothes before going to fetch the bride together.

When Hailey finished her shower and ca out, Emma had already arrived.

Basil hadn’t fully grasped the situation; Hailey and Godfery blocked the door, shoving Basil back into the room.

With his usual calmness, Godfery said, "Emma is here to fetch the groom. Hailey, you gather everyone to block the door."

Basil, inside the room, heard this and, for the first ti, was utterly confused.

What was the eldest brother saying?

Basil quickly asked, "Eldest brother, what are you up to?"

Calmly, Godfery replied, "You delayed the ti to fetch the bride. Emma is impatient and ca personally to get you. We have to put up a bit of a block; it isn’t that easy to take the groom, just relax and wait."

Basil was utterly baffled.

What on earth was all this?

Was the eldest brother possessed, actually leading a reverse wedding?"

Just then, Basil heard his foolish younger sibling at the door distractedly ask, "Eldest brother, since we’re making it tough for the wedding, should we hide the shoes or sothing? I heard that during the fetching of the bride, the friends’ entourage has to create obstacles and even hide the bride’s shoes."

Basil felt like he wanted to smack this silly sibling of his.

That fool knew it was the bride’s shoes that get hidden; was he the bride???

Godfery gave Hailey a complicated look and calmly said, "If you’re not afraid your brother will beat you, go ahead and hide them."

Hailey shivered and gave up on the idea of hiding shoes, instead calling in a bunch of people to block the door.

Basil, like a bride, was shut in the room.

Emma arrived with a grand entourage.

The usually somber Imperial Garden was lively today, adorned with red ribbons, looking nothing like its usual self, filled with joy.

Godfery and the close confidants of Basil, all with red flowers pinned on their chests, wore bright smiles.

Emma, seeing the block at the door, raised her eyebrows, ready to step forward.

A confidant stepped up and loudly shouted, "You can enter, but with red envelopes to pave the way; the groom is ho, use envelopes to knock!"

Emma had no bridesmaids; Nancy didn’t count with her feeble fighting capability, so Mrs. Lewis had already hired a professional bridesmaids’ team.

The bridesmaids, seeing this scene, hadn’t even recovered from the shock of fetching the groom, started blocking the door, but usually, these were their lines! The bridesmaids’ team was supposed to be the ones asking for the envelopes!

Yet, they were professionals!

Took money, had to do the job well!

One by one, the bridesmaids approached and handed out red envelopes to those blocking the door, even giving one to Godfery.

Nancy stood beside Emma, looking at Godfery in front of her. He wore a dark red suit with a boutonniere on his chest, and his hair styled clearly, showing his consideration for Basil.

The first confidant demanding red envelopes stepped back.

Emma stepped forward.

Another person across said, "Our Basil is well-read, wise, and capable. Entering is possible, but the bride has to sing a song to coax the groom, and then he’ll open the door."

Inside the room, Basil wanted to send them all to the mines!

But since this was led by the eldest brother, there was no way to punish them.

Emma didn’t find it difficult. Instead, she found it quite amusing.

She replied with a smile, "I’ll sing; listen carefully!"

Everyone was curious to listen, wondering what she would sing.

The next mont, Emma’s full-bodied, energetic voice echoed, "We soldiers, what’s so different, just because we wear plain military uniforms; we soldiers, what’s so different..."

Everyone was stunned.

Indeed, it was very different.
