Nancy Allen chatted with Emma Lewis for a while, and Emma finally felt so relief in her heart.

But she felt increasingly sorry for Basil Smith, deciding she should be nicer to him in the future.

At this mont, there was a knock on the door, and Mrs. Lewis cautiously asked from outside, "Emma, I noticed your lights are still on. It’s late now, are you hungry? I prepared so food for you, would you like to co out and eat?"

Emma opened the door to find her parents standing outside, both still awake, and she knew it was because of her.

Emma hugged her mom and muttered, "Mom, I’m sorry."

Mrs. Lewis quickly replied, "It’s okay, it’s okay. You silly child, there’s no need to say sorry to your own parents. You must be hungry, let cut so fruit for you."

At this mont, Mrs. Lewis gazed at Nancy Allen with such kindness that her eyes almost sparkled.

She just knew that Nancy was the one who could calm Emma down.

The wedding is tomorrow, and they didn’t want Emma to marry with any unresolved feelings.

The family had a late-night snack together, and everyone was happy.

At night, Nancy and Emma shared a room, which made Emma very happy.

People who knew Nancy well were aware of her strong sense of vigilance, and she usually didn’t want to share a room with others. The fact that she was willing now ant that to Nancy, Emma was like family.

That night, Emma slept peacefully.

The next morning, they were awakened at dawn.

Before Emma could express her morning grumpiness, Nancy softly said, "Today is your big wedding day with Basil, you should get up early for makeup and preparations."

Emma wanted to say that it was unnecessarily early since it was just dawn.

But seeing Nancy awake beside her, with her pale face trying to persuade, Emma, who was very fond of her little sister, suppressed her grumpiness.

Since Nancy was already up, how could she still be lazy?

Emma got dressed in her nightwear and opened the door.

Mrs. Lewis, already in formal attire, sighed in relief witnessing Emma’s equanimity as she opened the door.

She was very thankful that they had Nancy co over last night, who even managed to subdue Emma’s morning temper.

The villa was already decorated festively, with red celebratory characters everywhere. Emma found it sowhat tacky, but her parents insisted that red was auspicious for weddings.

The makeup artist, stylist, and wedding planning team were already there waiting.

Emma rembered sothing and suddenly pulled Nancy over, "You promised to be my bridesmaid before, co and get your makeup done with . You don’t know, my mom spent money hiring a bunch of bridesmaids for , but you’re special. I personally picked out a few dresses for you, all super beautiful."

Nancy shook her head and softly said, "I’d better not. I heard bridesmaids should preferably be unmarried."

Emma frowned, "I don’t care about superstitions like that."

But Nancy still refused, explaining, "I was sick before, and I’m not fully recovered. I wouldn’t be able to keep up with everyone as a bridesmaid."

Nancy didn’t want to be a bridesmaid because she heard it’s better luck to have single girls as bridesmaids, bringing good fortune.

Nancy wished for Emma’s wedding to be both auspicious and fulfilling.

Originally adamant, Emma relented upon hearing about Nancy’s health.

Nancy urged, "Alright, don’t dwell on it, quickly go change and get your makeup done."

Nancy’s voice was soft as her throat hadn’t fully recovered; with familiar people, she’d whisper closely, and normally, she communicated by writing.

The others couldn’t hear what Nancy said, only seeing how easily Emma complied.

Before going for makeup, Emma couldn’t resist instructing her mom, "Mom, please take good care of Nancy."

Mrs. Lewis smiled and said, "Alright, alright, I got it, go on."

Only then did Emma follow the stylist away, while Mrs. Lewis took Nancy to Emma’s closet. Emma’s closet was filled with neutral clothing, but there were so nice dresses displayed in the windows.

Mrs. Lewis remarked, "Nancy, these are the dresses Emma picked for you. Emma doesn’t care about what she wears herself, but she spent a whole hour choosing dresses for you. Even if you’re not a bridesmaid, you should still wear a nice dress."

Mrs. Lewis now found Nancy incredibly pleasing, regretting not being able to take her as a goddaughter back then. Emma always liked playing the role of a big brother or sister, and with such a gentle sister, Emma’s bad temper would llow out a lot.

Nancy chose a simple white gown and softly said, "This one, thank you."

"No need to thank . Emma considers you her sister, so we’re all family. This dress is simple; it needs so jewelry to look good. Emma never liked accessories since she was little — doesn’t own a single piece. I’ll get you so accessories, don’t worry, they’re not old-fashioned ones; they’re young people’s styles in my collection."

Mrs. Lewis said this and didn’t wait for Nancy to decline before fetching accessories.

Once Nancy changed into her dress, Mrs. Lewis ca back with a jade hairpin.

A white satin gown, only a pair of pink diamond earrings, with her black hair pinned up with the hairpin, a few locks cascading over her shoulders, looked elegant and noble.

Mrs. Lewis comnted with satisfaction, "A single hairpin is just right, very beautiful."

Nancy smiled and said, "Auntie, you don’t need to worry about . I’m all set; go see how Emma’s doing."

When a daughter gets married, a mother naturally wants to be by her side the most, and she had already delayed for a bit to take care of Nancy.

Mrs. Lewis nodded and walked out of the closet, saying as she went, "I’ll go check on Emma then. Emma is quick-tempered, and things might go wrong if not supervised. You rest a while; when the wedding party arrives, ride the main wedding car to the hotel."

Nancy nodded obediently.

The villa was bustling everywhere. Emma was taken back to her room to change clothes, and there were people all around, so Nancy went to the tea room, which was quiet and empty.

A notification alarm sounded on her phone.

Nancy checked her phone to see a ssage from Godfery Shaw.

"Hailey Smith is nowhere to be found. We are sending people to look for her, the wedding pickup might be delayed a bit. You can rest a little longer."

"Okay."

Nancy didn’t think much of it, just assud Hailey Smith had wandered off sowhere playfully. Anyway, it was still early, and she felt a bit drowsy from waking up early, so she leaned on the bench to take a quick nap.

As soon as she closed her eyes, footsteps approached, and a maid carrying a tray hurried over.

The maid said anxiously, "Miss Allen, why are you here? The bride insisted on bringing breakfast for you. Please eat your breakfast, and I will return and tell her it’s been delivered."

Nancy then rembered she seed to have skipped breakfast in the morning. She smiled and nodded, gesturing for the maid to go quickly.

The servant quickly dashed off again.

Nancy felt very touched; even amidst the busy wedding, Emma never forgot her.

Nancy quietly had her breakfast, resisting sleep to avoid causing trouble by having soone find her later. She stayed alert for any activity outside, trying not to create any inconvenience for Emma.

This grand, carefully attended wedding felt wonderful. Nancy found herself envious.

She couldn’t help but recall what Godfery ntioned earlier about wanting to have their wedding ceremony again.
