Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes Chapter 210: Bidding Farewell to This World
Next, Alia Wright began to seriously learn painting.
The teacher had high expectations for her, she always knew that.
The teacher hoped she would live well, which she might not be able to do, but at least, leave behind so paintings that satisfied the teacher.
Robert Reed looked at Alia coming to the Ink Manor again, frowning, "Alia, are you really okay?"
Alia laughed, "What could be wrong with ? I’ve had so free ti lately, so I’ve cald down on purpose to learn painting from the teacher."
"Before, you couldn’t even co twice a week, and now you have ti to spend every day at the Ink Manor?"
"I’m pregnant, quit my job, and have nothing to do now."
After breaking up with Godfery Shaw, Alia no longer hid the fact that she was pregnant.
Now, her nominal boyfriend is Elijah Jefferson, and this child is Elijah’s too.
Robert Reed was still a bit worried, mainly because Alia’s recent works showed a gradually changing style.
Previously, it was dead silent despair; now it seed like she had little real attachnt to the world, as if she could leave at any mont.
But then he looked at Alia’s already obvious belly, and the supplents she never forgot to take in the studio every day, and felt slightly relieved. She cared so much about this child; how could she not have attachnts?
Alia spent all her days at the Ink Manor, as if obsessed with painting.
Even for Rose Taylor, who had once hard and later helped her, she made arrangents, sending Rose to Mia Parker’s studio.
Because Rose had genuinely changed her ways, Mia Parker forgave her.
Old friends, once disappointed, beca friends again to work together.
Indeed, paintings reflect the person, and Robert Reed also noticed Alia’s changes from those paintings.
Each painting was a farewell to the world.
...
Three days later, Emma Lewis ca back.
Originally planning to spend a few more days in the Capital City, Emma returned three days after Alia ca back to Riverwood City after staying with her parents.
Emma didn’t go back to school; she headed straight to the old town after getting off the plane.
Once she arrived, seeing the quietness around Alia’s house, she asked puzzled, "Wasn’t it very lively before? Where did everybody go?"
"They all left." Alia was cooking noodles; seeing Emma arrive, she asked again, "Do you eat chili?"
"I do."
Emma was sowhat confused. These people were so adamantly staying here before; how could they just leave like this?
Thinking that, she walked into Alia’s house.
Then she saw Alia co out of the kitchen wearing a spaghetti strap nightdress, holding noodles.
Emma’s eyes widened in shock.
It wasn’t that Alia was too beautiful, or the nightdress too revealing.
But the nightdress was too form-fitting, and she saw Alia’s protruding belly.
Emma asked, her mind in a daze, "We’ve only been apart for three days! You... what happened???"
"Nothing really, just pregnant."
Emma suddenly stood up, making the table wobble, "What do you an ’nothing’! You..."
Alia interrupted Emma, "Be careful, the noodles I just cooked almost got spilled by you."
Emma deflated like a balloon, moving much more gently, then nervously asked, "Is it Godfery Shaw’s?"
"I’ve divorced Godfery Shaw; this child is mine alone."
Emma’s surprise quickly turned into heartache.
She chatted on and on with Alia until the noodles beca soggy.
Alia helplessly tried to change the topic, "By the way, did your parents agree to let you join the army?"
Emma quickly nodded, "They did, they said after I graduate, they agree to let join the army."
Once the topic changed, Emma stopped fixating on the pregnancy, only saying that Alia shouldn’t be afraid, and that she’d help Alia raise the child together.
Then at night, Emma lingered, refusing to leave, insisting on staying there, perhaps worried about the mood of a pregnant divorced woman.
Emma had experience with sleeping on the floor.
Before Alia could refuse, she grabbed a quilt herself and quickly set up a sleeping space on the floor.
Alia sighed, not really knowing how to refuse, so she thought, forget it, let her stay the night.
At night, Emily Allen was asleep.
Emma and Alia were still whispering.
"Alia, didn’t Basil Smith used to hang around next door? Where did he run off to?"
Alia was surprised Emma would ask about Basil, straightforwardly asking, "Do you like Basil?"
"Oh gosh, who would like that bespectacled square, rigid and stingy, doesn’t speak nicely, also self-righteous..."
"Seems like you do like him."
Emma: "..."
After a long while, Emma said sowhat dejectedly, "I do kind of like him, just want to break his serious deanor. After so previous misunderstandings, he reflected on himself, and I thought he wasn’t bad. I wanted to reach out to him but he ignored ..."
Alia thought for a mont and said, "I can help you get him to et up."
Emma brightened up instantly, "You really can get him to co?"
Alia nodded, "I can. Where do you want to et?"
Emma said quickly, "The cinema at Golden Prosperity Plaza, I heard from Elegant Art students that it’s a good place for a date."
They were chatting when Emma suddenly heard a small noise by the window.
She was about to check when Alia shook her head.
Soon, the window was opened, and a cushion was tossed inside.
The window was about to be closed.
Alia suddenly spoke, "Hailey Smith."
Hailey was startled and turned to leave imdiately.
Alia’s cool voice continued, "Stop!"
Hailey paused but then realized why he should listen.
Alia already asked, "Hailey, did Godfery Shaw send you?"
Hailey couldn’t stay silent anymore, irritably cursing, "Of course not, Godfery doesn’t even know; I’m just a naturally good person worrying that this terrifying woman of yours might die from not sleeping well!"
It was the first ti Hailey was so fierce to Alia, seeming to hope that by being fierce, he wouldn’t fear Alia anymore.
Alia’s emotions were complicated because Hailey was clearly afraid of her, yet he couldn’t bear to see her nightmares.
She lowered her voice, "I need your help with sothing. Go and subtly ask your brother if he likes Emma. If your brother does, then find a way to bring him to the cinema at Golden Prosperity Plaza tomorrow."
After Alia finished, there was a hum from outside and then the sound of departing footsteps.
Emma was stunned, watching the events unfold before her.
Alia calmly stated, "It’s handled. Go and wait at the cinema tomorrow, then you’ll know his attitude."
...
The next day, Emma returned from the cinema, her face filled with joy.
From Alia’s perspective, she hardly needed to ask to know that the matter had progressed smoothly.
Emma eagerly approached Alia, "Why aren’t you asking ?"
Alia calmly said, "Congratulations."
Emma rolled her eyes, "Being friends with you is so boring. Can’t you be a bit duller, filled with curiosity and enthusiasm, and ask about what happened?"
Alia blinked, her clear eyes gradually turning curious, and asked Emma, "What did you do at the cinema to succeed?"
Emma, ignoring Alia’s pretense, enthusiastically told her, "I just directly said I was interested in him, haha. He said he wasn’t into . But if he wasn’t, why would he co? So, I just snatched his glasses and kissed him."
Emma paused there.
Alia caught on, cooperated, and asked, "And then?"
"Then that guy got all flustered, haha, he doesn’t stand a chance against ."
Even if Alia was not well-versed in romance, she felt sothing wasn’t right and rubbed her forehead, asking, "Are you sure that counts as a success?"
Emma patted her chest assuredly, "Of course it counts as a success; he won’t escape."
