The event happened very suddenly.

So suddenly that no one had ti to react.

The person who was shouting wildly was Ava Wright.

During the incident in the water, Marsh Smith first saved Alia Wright, causing Ava Wright’s ntality to break down.

She was taken back to the Smith family, unable to divorce or leave.

Despised by Mrs. Smith, if there’s any slight mistake, Mrs. Smith would directly hit and scold her, confining and abusing her, while Marsh Smith watched coldly. Suddenly, she realized she was living the sa life Alia once did years ago.

Ava Wright’s ntal state completely collapsed.

She figured out a way to escape from the Smith family and went to the old town, seeking revenge against Alia Wright.

Upon arriving at the old town, she discovered Alia had gone out, and Ava also called for a car to follow.

She rembered Godfery Shaw didn’t want his relationship with Alia to be public. Back then, she even used this to threaten Godfery Shaw and got that necklace.

Now, Ava was nearly insane and no longer feared Godfery Shaw, running out to shout those words directly.

Godfery Shaw, Hailey Smith, and Basil Smith all changed their expressions.

Elijah Jefferson wasn’t aware of the inside story, but seeing their expressions, he knew sothing was wrong.

Hailey Smith ran the fastest, directly pouncing and pinning Ava to the ground, his eyes scanning around. Upon seeing Alia, he was startled and quickly withdrew his gaze.

The divorce certificate’s stamp was never put down in the end.

However, Godfery Shaw couldn’t care less, grabbing the divorce certificate, noticing the nearby pedestrians, his expression turning grim.

The Shaw family had always been watching him, and he couldn’t just hope they wouldn’t pay attention to what had just been said.

Ava Wright was still struggling.

Godfery Shaw, looking at Ava Wright with a chill down to his bones, said, "Since she’s insane, let’s send her to the ntal institution."

Ava Wright paused, intending to struggle and refuse.

But Hailey Smith held her mouth tightly shut; Ava could barely even whimper, let alone shout.

She was crazed with self-abandonnt, thinking life was already so bad it couldn’t get worse, but she wasn’t truly insane to go to a ntal institution.

Godfery Shaw added, "Make sure soone watches her and doesn’t let her out."

After speaking, Godfery Shaw turned around, holding Alia Wright’s hand as he walked out.

He held Alia’s hand tightly, like a final farewell, gripping it tightly.

Alia Wright didn’t understand what Ava Wright ant when she shouted that they all liked Alia.

She thought, since they were already getting divorced, it didn’t matter if people knew Godfery Shaw once married her.

Godfery Shaw held too tightly; she tried to pull her hand away but couldn’t succeed.

Godfery Shaw led Alia to Elijah Jefferson’s side, directly pushing Alia into Elijah’s arms: "I’m leaving her to you from now on..."

After that, Godfery Shaw said to Hailey Smith and Basil Smith: "Follow ."

Hailey Smith and Basil Smith exchanged a glance and silently followed.

The two brothers, one feigning betrayal, the other truly banishing.

After all, they were all Godfery’s people.

At this mont, Godfery Shaw wasn’t sure what those people would think once that sentence reached the Shaw family.

But he didn’t dare to gamble, so he had to cut all ties with Alia Wright.

No more private etings, and Hailey Smith and Basil Smith couldn’t remain by her side.

He even personally handed her over to Elijah, because behind Elijah was the Jefferson Estate, which was enough to make the Shaw family wary.

No one knew how painful it was for him to push Alia out.

Godfery Shaw, with his people, left without looking back.

Ava Wright was also taken away.

Only Elijah and Alia Wright were left.

Elijah was baffled.

Alia guessed it had sothing to do with the Shaw family.

But it was fine; it was better to cut cleanly.

Alia watched Godfery Shaw depart until he was out of sight, then finally withdrew her gaze.

Godfery Shaw, farewell.

...

When Elijah took Alia back to the old town, Emily Allen and Edward Allen returned.

Father and son had gone to a sumr camp and their phones were off; as soon as they received a call from Mr. Allen and Mrs. Allen, they hurried back.

Edward Allen, upon seeing Alia, gratefully said, "Alia, we really thank you this ti. Mom and Dad said they didn’t have a chance to thank you before you returned to Riverwood City. You’re a savior to our family. When you have ti, I’ll take you and Emily back ho; Mom and Dad want to thank you in person."

Alia shook her head and said quietly, "Mr. Allen, you’ve been in Riverwood City for a while. It’s ti to return to Capital City. As for Emily, when the ti is right, I’ll send her back to the Allen family."

Edward Allen’s excited voice suddenly stopped.

He wasn’t a fool; he heard the aning in Alia’s words—it was a dismissal.

It seed their reactions were too extre, and his sister wanted to avoid them.

She didn’t even call him brother, distancing herself by calling him Mr. Allen.

Edward Allen promptly nodded, "Yes, yes, my vacation is almost over; I should return to Capital City. Emily, you don’t need to rush to send her back. She only recognizes you as her aunt; we should respect Emily’s opinion. We’ll co to see her when we have ti."

They couldn’t rush things too much. After waiting all these years, they couldn’t be hasty.

As long as Emily stayed here, they always had an excuse to visit her sister.

Alia wanted to speak but ultimately remained silent.

Edward Allen left, and Hailey Smith and Basil Smith also left.

Alia no longer had any neighbors in front or back; the surroundings grew quiet.

Elijah, sowhat worried, said, "You’re not in a convenient situation right now. Why not stay at my place?"

Alia looked at Elijah, her cold and clear eyes too pure, making Elijah feel like he had ulterior motives.

Elijah hurriedly explained, "I didn’t an anything else. I’m just concerned for your safety. After all, you know your own circumstances; you can’t go to the hospital, and when the ti cos, it might be difficult to give birth."

"It’s not necessary for now, thank you."

Elijah watched as Alia was so polite yet distant, and he sighed again in his heart, "In case anything happens, call ."

"Alright."

Elijah also left, leaving only Emily Allen with Alia.

Emily, sensitive to Alia’s abnormality, called out uneasily, "Aunt."

Alia gently rubbed Emily’s little head, "I’m alright. Soon you’ll have a little brother or sister."

Emily reached out, gently touching Alia’s slightly swollen belly.

Alia said gently, "In the future, can you help take care of him?"

Emily looked up, "What about Aunt?"

Alia didn’t respond and asked again, "Emily, if I can’t take care of this child, will you help care for him?"

Emily hesitated for a mont but still nodded.

Alia rubbed Emily’s little head again.

She had promised Emily she wouldn’t abandon him, but that was before she died.

Emily’s sense of lack was severe; his childhood experiences made it hard for him to trust others, indifferent to parents and relatives. Now, an unborn child needed him, so Emily wouldn’t be aimless.

Alia was bidding farewell to everyone step by step.

The next day, Alia went to Cloudglow and resigned from the position of Design Director. Soone reported this to Godfery Shaw, and this ti, Godfery Shaw didn’t make things difficult for Alia; he signed the authorization without hesitation.

The entire design departnt was a bit stunned.

Sarah Bennett, who used to dislike Alia the most, even ran to the top floor to question Godfery Shaw, but ultimately the result remained unchanged.

Alia had voluntarily resigned and was not fired; no matter how anxious they were, they couldn’t do anything.

Alia resigned, and now she’s completely severed her ties with Godfery Shaw.
