The sun had barely risen when the Cloudfire Sect’s inner courtyard exploded into noise.

Disciples sprinted in every direction. Elders barked orders. Qi formations flickered in the skies like war banners. And at the heart of it all stood Wang Li, still yawning, still half-dressed, with five outrageously beautiful won surrounding him like divine bodyguards.

"Let get this straight," Wang Li muttered as he adjusted his robes. "We’re hosting a Sect War Summit today?"

Lin Ruoyan nodded grimly. "The six rival sects are gathering to discuss the increasing beast tide attacks near the borderlands."

Mu Qingling added, "And they all hate you."

"That’s not true," Wang Li protested.

"They also hate you," Feng Yuling corrected with a smirk.

"They either want you dead or married," Bai Xueyao chid in. "So want both."

"I hate this place," Wang Li said.

"No, you don’t," Yuechan whispered into his ear. "You love the chaos. Just like ."

She wasn’t wrong

The summit was held atop the Skyward Jade Platform, a floating pavilion suspended on ancient arrays that shimred like translucent jade. Elders from each major sect were seated in a wide circle, their auras clashing like invisible titans locked in polite warfare.

The mont Wang Li stepped onto the platform, a dozen pairs of eyes turned to him.

"Ah," sneered Elder Hei Mo of the Void Sword Sect, a gaunt man whose spiritual aura radiated a constant killing intent. "The little dragon pup has arrived. With his harem in tow, I see."

The word harem echoed like thunder.

Wang Li stiffened. "They are not—!"

"He ans us," Bai Xueyao said, waving sweetly.

Mu Qingling smirked. "Don’t bother denying it anymore, Wang Li. Just embrace the chaos."

Lin Ruoyan leaned in. "We already have a weekly schedule."

Feng Yuling sighed. "And we have to discuss territory claims today. I hate politics."

Yuechan floated behind Wang Li, completely barefoot, wearing a sleeveless robe made of cloud silk that shimred like the moon. "He is under divine protection now. If any sect dares challenge him, they challenge ."

The Void Sword Sect elder paled slightly.

Even he wasn’t insane enough to provoke a being who claid to be a celestial goddess.

But soone else was.

A sharp gust of wind tore through the clouds as a newcor arrived, descending on a flying sword of black teorite steel. She wore violet robes with golden trim, and her face was veiled—but her aura scread disaster.

"The Demon Empress’s disciple," Lin Ruoyan whispered. "What’s she doing here?"

The veiled woman’s eyes locked onto Wang Li.

Then she smiled. "Long ti no see, fiancé."

The summit exploded.

"FIANCÉ?!" Bai Xueyao shrieked.

"Another one?!" Mu Qingling snapped.

"She’s strong," Yuechan said, amused. "I approve."

Wang Li looked around wildly. "I have never t this woman!"

"Of course you have," the veiled woman said sweetly. "Or did you forget the spiritual marriage contract you signed when you were twelve?"

"I was drunk on spiritual peaches!"

She bowed gracefully. "I am Xing Feiyan, First Disciple of the Demon Empress of the Eastern Abyss. And I am here to claim what is rightfully mine."

Wang Li took a step back.

"Is that a threat?"

"It’s a proposal," she purred. "But it can beco a threat if you like."

Bai Xueyao drew her sword. "Over my dead body."

"Gladly," Xing Feiyan said, forming a mudra.

The spiritual pressure surged.

Everyone began yelling at once. Elder Hei Mo summoned his blade. Lin Ruoyan’s flas danced dangerously. Feng Yuling opened an ice barrier. Yuechan remained calm—but she was glowing.

Wang Li, in the middle of it all, raised both hands.

"ENOUGH!"

The entire summit went quiet.

He turned slowly, golden eyes flashing with true draconic authority. "I didn’t co here to watch you idiots fight over . I ca to discuss how we’re going to stop the incoming beast tide before it swallows the continent!"

Elder Hei Mo muttered, "Still sounds like sothing soone with too many girlfriends would say."

Wang Li ignored him. "The beasts are being pushed out of the Nether Wilds by sothing darker. I’ve seen the signs myself."

He opened his palm. A strand of corrupted demonic qi danced in the air like black fla.

"There’s a rift forming," he said. "A tear between realms. If we don’t unite, it won’t matter who marries . We’ll all be dead."

Even the Demon Empress’s disciple blinked at that.

"...You make a fair point," she admitted.

Mu Qingling sighed. "Why is saving the world so much work?"

"Because we’re aweso," Wang Li said.

"Speak for yourself," Bai Xueyao muttered. "I didn’t sign up for this. I wanted a cute husband and a quiet sect life."

"Too late now," Yuechan said. "You’re tied to a dragon-blooded reincarnator with a hero complex."

Feng Yuling added, "Who also can’t keep his pants on."

"I can!" Wang Li protested.

Everyone stared.

He sighed. "...Usually."

As the summit drew to a close, the sects reluctantly agreed to form a temporary alliance. Wang Li was officially appointed as the envoy between the sects—and unofficially declared the most dangerous romantic hazard on the continent.

Back in his courtyard, Wang Li collapsed into a chair.

"I’m going to die single," he muttered.

"No, you won’t," said a voice.

He looked up.

Xing Feiyan stood in the doorway, veil now removed, revealing a face as cold and flawless as the moon.

"I wasn’t joking about the proposal," she said. "You’re mine, Wang Li. Whether your other won like it or not."

She turned and left.

Leaving Wang Li frozen in place.

Yuechan floated by, sipping tea. "You attract calamity."

"I know," he whispered.

"But it’s strangely... exciting."

He groaned
