Alia walked to Professor Kinsley, who introduced her to another set of elder great healers, whom she thought were really helpful and insightful.

Because her father was partial to Hannah and her, whenever it ca to socialising and sharing ideas, only Hannah was allowed to speak ever, and she was always a bystander, a lonely spectator in the most crowded places.

"This is Alia, my pupil," Professor Kinsley introduced her to Elder Gloria and Elder Noah, and the duo looked at her before smiling.

"We know her," they smiled in acknowledgent.

Alia didn’t have a smile. She didn’t know what her father told everyone from the healers of the North since he never asked her to submit the thesis they had been talking about, and these healers liked it.

"That’s great. You must see her recent research. She has been working on curing people with paralysis and already has a successful case. Luna Camila from the Ashborn pack is now standing and moving all because of her," Professor Kinsley said proudly.

Elder Noah looked at her with raised brows.

Last ti they t, she was talking about Alzheir’s, and this ti, Paralysis.

"I am worried about how much ti you spend in the laboratory, little one. There is life outside, too. You know that, right?" Elder Noah said, and everyone chuckled while Alia blushed at their words.

"There is a live example of her work," Professor Kinsley announced to all his friends. Everyone turned to the entrance, where Luna Camila was entering the venue with her three sons.

They looked at her, amazed, so even shocked.

Alia smiled, happy that she could make it here.

Forr Alpha King Grayson, who had already made his presence known and heard about his granddaughter-in-law’s work, nodded in acknowledgent when he saw the lady he hadn’t seen in ages.

"Care for a dance?"

Alia heard soone calling from behind her, and she turned to face King Cyrus, who was wearing a full mask today.

Though his face was hidden, his aura was undefeated, and they knew he was soone powerful, making the healers leave the girl ticulously.

Alia smiled and nodded before placing her hand in his.

King Cyrus smiled and pulled her towards the centre of the ballroom.

He placed his hand on her waist, helping her place her hand on his shoulder, before grabbing her left hand and affectionately intertwining their fingers.

Since his grandfather didn’t want others to know about her identity yet, he had asked his subordinates to ask people to co and dance and hide them from dancing.

"You can dance freely. No one will suspect a thing," King Cyrus said.

Alia smiled at his words.

"I never worry about a thing when you are near , King Cyrus.

I have blind faith in you," She whispered, and the man pulled her closer before taking a deep breath and kissing her neck.

His wolf asked him if he was leaning towards her because he wasn’t the one who told him to pull her closer this ti.

"I don’t know," Cyrus said, even when he felt he already knew that answer to that question.

It was unbelievable how things were turning.

He had never thought that he would be dancing with a healer, let alone love her.

The mont he touched those rose-petal-like lips, he should’ve known that things were out of his hands and that his mind would shut down, taken over by it.

"What would you say if I marked you here?" King Cyrus asked.

Alia paused for a couple of seconds before smiling.

"I wouldn’t mind. Do you want to know my favourite place?" She asked, stepping closer to him, pressing herself to his chest.

The man’s breath hitched as he saw raw emotions in her eyes.

"You have grown bold," He comnted before lifting her in the air and circling, making her smile as she locked her hands around his neck.

"I have every reason to," she grinned.

The man smiled at her before shaking his head.

"You should fear ," He said, placing his forehead on her.

Alia looked at him in amusent, mischief dancing in her eyes.

"Oh, I am definitely scared of you," She teased, and the man bit the inside of his cheeks before shaking his head.

Alia was happy at that mont, completely unaware of the jealous gazes she was attracting.

Hannah looked at the girl with suppressed hostility that she couldn’t express before her father.

Everything that belonged to Alia would’ve been hers if she had agreed to marry that beast.

But who would’ve thought that rather than torturing her, he would beco friendly to her?

He definitely didn’t love her, but she hated that Cyrus didn’t hate Alia, which she thought would happen.

"It’s okay, Alia. Smile as much as you want because this will be your first and last dance," Hannah said.

Once the dance ended, Alia bowed to Cyrus, and he was about to ask her for another dance when Fabian walked to him and said that his grandfather was asking him to appear on stage since he would announce the date of the King trials and the candidates for it.

Cyrus didn’t want to leave, but this was important. Besides, he could always have another dance with the girl at ho, a dance before unpacking his gift.

The thought made him smile, and he kissed her hand from behind his mask before leaving.

Alia blushed at his actions and walked out of the dancing area.

"I didn’t know the beast was capable of dancing. Why are they not announcing your status, Alia? I thought they accepted you," Hannah raised her brows in fake concern.

Alia knew everything was fake, but she needed to act accordingly.

"I don’t think they have accepted yet. They are still wary of . He danced with because Grayson threatened him," Alia said.

Hannah smirked at the words. It brought relief and happiness to her.

Just like she had guessed.

"Anyway, father wanted to talk to you," She turned and looked at Thas.

Thas took a deep breath. He didn’t want to talk to this abomination, but after their laboratory was burnt, they needed funds to establish another laboratory at that scale, and he wanted to know if she could get them so funds from the royalty.

Alia knew her father would never agree to talk to her until he wanted sothing, but she didn’t let it show on her face.

"You wanted to talk to , Father?" Alia asked.

"Why don’t you guys talk over a glass of drink?" Hannah asked.

Alia looked at the drinks in Hannah’s hands.

She rembered Hannah had tried to drug a minister during this ball to save his life to gain brownie points among the healers.

How did she know that? Because she was the one who gave her the antidote to the drug in her last life.

What were the chances the girl was thinking about sothing again? Could this drink in the glass she was holding be trusted?

Alia licked her bottom lip.

She was trying to find a way to reject the drink when Dominic walked to her.

"I hope you are enjoying your ti with your family, Princess Alia," he said sarcastically, a hint of mockery in his voice.

"I would like to toast to you for that marvelous dance," Dominic said, grabbing a drink from the waiter.

Alia looked at the two drinks.

No one could be trusted. One was a snake, and the other was a monster hiding behind a mask.

But she needed to choose.

She knew about Hannah’s drink and its properties.

But with Dominic, if the drink was spiked, she didn’t know what kind of drug it was.

"I offered her a drink first," Hannah said, and Dominic raised his eyebrows.

Usually, he wouldn’t worry about talking to soone as low as a healer. However, since she was Alia’s family and he needed to act friendly so the girl didn’t suspect his actions, he smiled.

"I know you are her sister, but don’t you think Alia should take my drink first because I belong to the in-laws’ family and am a royal?" Dominic said with a hint of amusent.

Hannah thinned her lips.

The man who gave her the drug told her that Alia shouldn’t drink anything right before taking the drug, or it might get diluted. And if she vomited the drink, it would be useless.

Hannah scratched her neck, then she looked at her father.

Thas looked at his daughter before sighing.

"Take it, Alia," he said.

He didn’t want to indulge in this childish ga, but he had seen Dominic’s disgust when he was walking to them, and he thought it was directed at them.

And thus, he asked Alia to take the drink.

"I respect you, Uncle Dominic, but he is my father," Alia said, smiling bitterly before she looked at her father.

This is the last ti I am ever drinking poison because of you, Father. She told herself before she took the glass from Hannah’s hands and drank the liquid in one gulp.

"So you are disrespecting ?" Dominic asked.

Alia looked at the man before she grabbed the glass from his hand and drank the champagne in one go.

Hannah and Dominic smirked at the sa ti.

It was ti for a scene worth watching..
