Alia sat in the hall of the royal palace, facing Dominic Bentley.

The man ca without prior notice, and Cyrus wasn’t in the Palace to entertain him.

Thus, as the princess of the palace and Cyrus’s wife, she needed to sit before him even if the sight of him filled her with disgust.

"Would you like to have tea or coffee?" She asked politely.

Dominic kept observing the girl, trying to determine whether there was any malice in her actions, but he was having a hard ti figuring her out.

She had the face of soone who wouldn’t bother with political stuff, and from what he heard, the knowledge she was interested in was related to the laboratory.

Was it she who made that decision? Could it be that Cyrus proposed the idea in her na to lift her status or ensure Forr King Grayson heard it? After all, this was the first decision by Cyrus’s wife, and it made sense.

There was a conspiracy bigger than what he was letting on, and the fact made him smile.

"How about blood?" Dominic asked.

Alia’s gaze froze at his insinuation.

Miss Quinn, standing in the corner, furrowed her brows. She did not like how he spoke to their princess. He was making her uncomfortable, and it was as clear as broad daylight.

Alia didn’t flinch or show any expression.

She smiled politely.

"That can be arranged, too. Please ask your guard to step forward. I am unsure if you would like blood from soone from Cyrus’s team, but you must trust your people," Alia said calmly.

Her words made everyone raise their brows in surprise. They didn’t expect their innocent and naive princess to say such crude words related to murder.

Dominic smirked.

He underestimated her. He leaned back in his seat before looking at Miss Quinn in the corner.

"Aren’t they a perfect fit for each other?" He hinted subtly with a grin.

Miss Quinn smiled awkwardly before nodding. She didn’t know what else to say. While she wanted to give the man a fitting reply, she didn’t want to raise any disputes between them and their King Cyrus.

"I was just kidding," Dominic said.

Alia’s lips twitched.

"I know that, Uncle Dominic. Did it look like I was serious? Was my acting good?" Alia blinked her eyes innocently.

Her expression made Dominic’s smile falter.

He didn’t know why, but Alia threw him off guard more often than Cyrus ever did.

She was like a sweet poison that kills you slowly. He cleared his throat.

"Or course, not. How can a sweet-looking girl like you talk about such things casually? I must say you caught off-guard, though," Dominic said.

Alia nodded, "That was indeed my intention."

"I an, I heard about your quick wits and wanted to get so praise from you, worthy of your notice," she added.

The man’s gaze moved to a fro between her eyes as he tried to search for any slip-up in her expression, but when he didn’t find any, he smiled.

"Don’t worry. You have indeed caught my attention," he said before he stood.

He said he had a eting to attend, and Cyrus looked like he would take so ti before arriving.

"It was a pleasure eting you," He extended his hand.

Alia looked at his hand and smiled.

She knew what he was trying to do. Dominic was well versed in reading minds through physical touch, such as shaking hands, and that was exactly his intention here.

Not many people were aware of this. She didn’t know if Cyrus knew, but Dominic used this hidden talent to his advantage.

Alia extended his hand and shook it.

Dominic’s expression froze. It was nothing like he had expected.

When his hand touched hers, he felt like he was between clouds. It was clear, happy, and calm. The sun was shining, warm enough to make your heart feel glad. The sll of rain and wet soil wafted through his nostrils.

There was no dark aura around her soul, as if she were in heaven. But how was that possible? How could a living entity make him feel like this? Like, she has no connection to Earth?

Dominic didn’t want to let go. For the first ti in his life, he felt sothing else mattered more than what he was chasing for his son.

Alia didn’t know how long he would hold her hand, and she looked at Miss Quinn helplessly.

The head of the maids found it irking and walked to the duo to remove his hand from their princess because she was becoming uncomfortable now.

However, soone else appeared before she could say anything and removed his hand from hers.

Alia’s hand was pulled, more like snatched, from Dominic’s grip, before she felt sothing hard against her back.

She involuntarily placed her hands on the man’s chest before looking up with wide eyes.

The cold blue eyes were calm. They searched for sothing in hers, as if trying to determine whether she was alright.

His sll...so comforting that all her grievances from earlier dissipated into nothingness.

"Are you okay?" He asked when she stood there, unmoving.

"Why are you so beautiful?" She ended up speaking, and Cyrus’s ears flared a little.

This girl had no filter on her mouth, despite the occasion and situation she was in.

He cleared his throat and looked at Dominic, who was still in a trance.

"Do you think it’s appropriate to appear at my ho when no man is without notice?" Cyrus asked.

Dominic finally snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Alia, his eyes holding a weird emotion before he gulped.

He then gazed at Cyrus. Under normal circumstances, he would’ve said sothing snarky or made fun of the situation, but after what he felt, he didn’t want to talk negatively with anyone.

"I apologise. Let’s talk so other ti," Dominic said, barely suppressing his urge to shake hands with the princess.

He nodded at Alia before leaving.

Cyrus quirked his brows when he noticed this. The only person he ever saw Dominic nodding at was his grandfather. Was it a mistake? Or was there a hidden aning behind it?

Cyrus sighed, massaging his forehead before he looked down at the princess, who blinked her eyes innocently as if she didn’t worry him earlier.

"Have you eaten?" He asked Alia, who shook her head.

He took her to the dining table, his gaze repetitively shifting to her every action.

Once they had their dinner, Cyrus walked to his office, demanding the security footage of the hall when he wasn’t present.

Cyrus sat behind the laptop in his boss’s chair, watching the footage.

A proud smile appeared on his face when he heard Alia’s fitting reply to Dominic’s words.

She didn’t let him down.

However, how Dominic’s expression changed when he shook hands with her was worth noticing.

Cyrus was aware of Dominic’s power of reading minds through physical touch, which is one reason he doesn’t indulge in that activity.

So what exactly did that man see for him to act like that towards his wife?

Cyrus leaned back in his chair before he picked up his phone when he heard a ping sound.

He looked at the docunt along with the photos and smirked.

It was quite satisfying.
