"Sothing’s wrong," Dominic said.

He had been observing the duel from the beginning because this was going to be a turning point for their family.

He used all kinds of tricks, giving all sorts of illegal drugs to his son so he would beco stronger for the day and beat Cyrus through it.

But Cyrus... Why did it look like sothing was provoking his beast to another level?

His eyes... they have never been so dark and full of rage.

Even in his human form, he looked like a beast standing in the arena.

As much as he hated to admit it, his son looked nothing like Cyrus, and he was imdiately reminded of his brother Sebastian.

His brother had that kind of aura, the dominance that would make people bow to him in respect, even without demanding it.

And while looking at Cyrus today, he realised that Cyrus was like a carbon copy of his father, or probably stronger.

Cyrus raised his hand in the air, as if collecting energy from the skies, which was logically impossible since he was just a werewolf and not so kind of witch.

His fists tightened around the sword, and he snapped his cloak back. The tal armor on his body was tightly clenched around him, his heavy breathing making his body appear a little bulkier.

His taut muscles rippled, almost making it look as though they would tear the shirt he was wearing.

"Patrick! Focus!" Dominic shouted at his son so he wouldn’t feel inferior and lose focus.

Even though it looked more like the case.

Patrick looked at his father, who looked at him with eyes full of hope, and he gulped.

I feel uneasy. His wolf claid as he looked at Cyrus.

It’s just the tonic that our father made us drink to make us stronger. Once this is over, I’ll take you for a walk. Patrick said.

His wolf didn’t say anything further and sat back, still anxious.

Patrick could feel his wolf’s anxiousness, but at this mont, there wasn’t exactly anything he could do.

His pupils dilated when he saw Cyrus coming at him.

Cyrus used his alpha speed and struck Patrick. The man barely dodged the attack, sliding a few tres away.

Patrick jumped in the air and struck an attack, attempting to kick Cyrus at the sa ti to catch him off guard.

Cyrus effortlessly countered the attack with his sword, grabbing his leg with his left hand.

Patrick panicked at the last second and struck again, feeling stuck.

Due to their proximity, Patrick’s sword reached Cyrus’s neck, and Alia gasped.

"No," She whispered, closing her eyes.

Cyrus felt Alia’s anxiousness through the bond and smirked before placing his sword beside his neck at the right mont.

He countered the attack, but to his surprise, the sword he had been using broke.

The sound of the tal clinking as it fell on the hard ground echoed in the silent environnt.

According to the laws of the face-off, the princes weren’t supposed to use any secondary weapon.

Alia’s heart skipped a beat. No. This wasn’t going right.

Fabian’s brows furrowed.

How was this even possible? They ensured that all the equipnt was right. Then, how did the King’s sword break like this?

He turned to look at Gabe, who had a similar shocked expression.

Cyrus threw Patrick away from his body, looking at the broken tal.

He scoffed.

He didn’t react, nor did he bla anyone. Cyrus looked up, his gaze eting Dominic’s.

After all, who was there around him who would dare to tamper with the weapons like this to ensure he won?

He picked up the tal part with the handle and raised it in the air.

"It’s okay. It still has potential," Cyrus said.

He started fighting Patrick again. His every move was lethal, uncalculated, and more unpredictable than before.

Moreover, Patrick was becoming tired.

"The first round ends here. No one wins," The host announced after an hour.

Alia stood from her place and was about to rush the King when she noticed that, rather than returning to the side, they both were made to sit on the benches on the side.

Since her position had not yet been announced, she didn’t want to take a step that would put Cyrus in a difficult position before the elders, and she sighed before sitting dejectedly.

King Cyrus turned his gaze and looked at Alia’s anxious eyes.

He looked at Fabian, and the man walked ahead. He grabbed his subordinate’s phone and made the call.

Alia looked at her vibrating phone and imdiately picked up.

"Are you okay? Do you need anything?" She asked instantly.

"Don’t worry about the results. That tension and lines on your forehead don’t suit you. Sylas is getting anxious over your emotions. Since I can feel your peaking emotions, I can feel your distress. Try to relax for ," Cyrus said.

Alia nodded in his direction.

Right. How could she forget that due to her mark on his neck, things will be difficult for him?

"I will win," Cyrus said before ending the call.

It was only a five-minute break.

He stood from the bench and looked at Patrick, noticing how Dominic was whispering sothing in his ears, as if forming new strategies, and he couldn’t help but chuckle.

"The second round begins," The host announced, and as soon as he moved back, Cyrus noticed sothing weird.

Patrick’s hands, his nails were elongating.

He then shifted his gaze to his face. His fangs were sharpening too. He was stopping his transition midway to transition instantly and catch him off guard.

’He thinks he stands a chance against ?’ Sylas growled inside Cyrus.

Stop it. Let concentrate. I know you’re jealous about what happened earlier and want to return to your wife. But this isn’t the ti for distraction. Cyrus said to Sylas, thinking the latter was still pondering over Kyle’s presence near their wife.

Cyrus grabbed the half sword and rushed to Patrick.

As instructed by his father, Patrick jumped in the air, raised his sword, and tried to attack Cyrus, who dodged, but he was not ready for another sneaky attack as he kicked him while landing behind him.

Cyrus stumbled a few feet forward.

He was about to use his alpha speed to turn and counter the next attack when, to everyone’s surprise, Patrick changed into his wolf form.

Everyone gasped.

He jumped onto Cyrus and grabbed his hand in his mouth.

Alia’s gaze widened as she saw Cyrus’s hand bleeding profusely.

Her fists clenched by her side as she tried her best to stay calm while the mark on her wrist started burning.

Cyrus growled in return. He groaned at the sudden pain that shot across his body. This wasn’t the normal pain he should feel just from his bite.

Sothing was wrong.

Cyrus finally noticed the pain in his abdon and saw the sword that went straight through his abdon.

He placed his hand on his abdon before raising it.

Blood. More blood.

Everyone gasped. No one had thought Patrick would sneak an attack like this. However, there were never any rules about fairness. Even death was permitted according to moral standards.

Dominic’s eyes brightened.

Yes. Finally, it was happening. Finally, the day when his lineage was to rise, the day he had been working so hard for and plotting for so many years, he could see the hope of that day.

"Yes, my boy!" Dominic stood from his seat.

Lilithia trembled. She hadn’t expected her brother to give in to her father’s wishes and act immorally like this. Elysia’s face remained neutral.

Rosaline’s gaze wavered. She had told them to think of blood ties first before this throne.

And even after that, she had honestly expected the rogue monstrous behaviour from Cyrus, but Patrick... even after knowing that Cyrus’s wolf wasn’t good to transform, he went through that path...

"I want you to win. I don’t care if you have to bring hell on Earth for it. You have to win, for us, for ," Alia chanted in her head, hoping Cyrus would receive the signal through the mark on his neck.

Cyrus staggered back as the wolf left his hand and jumped to the side.

He grabbed the sword and pulled it out from his abdon, stumbling in his steps before he fell.

He breathed heavily.

This sword, or probably his teeth, or his nails, was laced with so kind of drug, a drug that was slowing his healing powers.

Cyrus looked at Patrick’s wolf, tilting his head a little.

The wolf was standing on its four legs, snarling at him.

This is bad. I feel like I’m stuck. Cyrus said before he turned his head to look at Alia.

His heart was constricting painfully in his chest, and his wolf was silent, too silent for soone who would’ve been raging hell right now for the ugly trick Patrick used on them.

"Help," Cyrus mouthed to her.

That was all the indication Alia needed, and she jumped from the fifth row to the fourth, subsequently reaching the ground.

She ran like her life depended on it, not at all caring about what others might say.

However, Patrick’s wolf, who saw Alia coming from his peripheral vision and knew she would heal Cyrus, attacked the man on the ground.

He aid for his neck this ti.

Everything stilled.

The air seed to freeze as ti paused.

Everyone gasped at what happened next.
