"Are you guys being for real?" Alia exasperated.

She suppressed the budding emotions in her heart and simply looked at the two grown n who were fighting like children.

Anyone would call it hatred and a fight to kill, but to Alia, it looked like siblings trying to take out their anger on each other without hurting the other one severely.

"He started it," Kyle pointed at Cyrus, and Alia thinned her lips.

"Leave, Kyle," She said.

Kyle’s gaze darkened when Cyrus smirked.

She was siding with her husband.

"How can you ask to leave? You don’t even know what happened here. He called here. He wanted to et . So why does he get to walk away with it like nothing happened?" Kyle asked.

Though his face was neutral, Alia could see the pain in his eyes, and for a mont, her heart squeezed painfully.

"This face-off is important for King Cyrus, Kyle," Alia reasoned.

Cyrus looked at the way Alia looked at Kyle, as if she were looking at a man she would cherish, had she not been married to him, and he felt sothing fishy was going on here.

There was definitely sothing that he didn’t know about these two.

He didn’t suspect Alia. He knew her love for him was real.

But for so reason... her emotions for Kyle...

He didn’t know how to put it into words. And why the hell was his heart not feeling edgy with the realization?

Yes, it was true he felt jealous earlier when he hadn’t seen Kyle. As embarrassing as it was, why was he not feeling anything in the mont?

"For you. Just for you, I’ll swallow this humiliation, sweetheart. God, the things I do for you! I am even ready to fight those lords," Kyle walked out of the room in a fit of anger, slamming the door behind him.

Once he left, Alia looked down at her feet before taking a deep breath.

"I know you have a lot of questions, King Cyrus. I’ll tell you everything. Please win this face-off for . I’ll tell you the truth, why Kyle keeps bothering , why I can’t hate that man even after that, and I’ll let you decide what to do with that." Alia turned around and left after saying those words.

Cyrus was left alone in the room.

He looked around at the ss they had made and sat on the couch, his heart heavy with emotions he didn’t recognise.

Anger at Kyle, frustration of not solving the matter, irritation with how Alia said those words, and Yearning?

Why was he feeling this forbidden yearning? Like he wanted sothing that had been taken away from him years ago, sothing that should’ve been his?

What was that electric shock he felt when he touched Kyle initially? Why did his wolf act like that?

Was it just jealousy?

But Sylas reacted even before Kyle opened his mouth about Alia.

No. What was he thinking? It was definitely jealousy.

With this thought, Cyrus was about to even his thoughts when Fabian knocked on the door.

"Everything is ready, sir," He said, his pupils dilated when he looked at the condition of the room.

What the hell happened here? He wondered and looked at his King. His skin was flawless, but...his knuckles... they didn’t look too well.

Could it be that he did all this?

He was probably just trying to take out his anger. Fabian nodded to himself before asking soone to co and clean the King’s room once he left.

Cyrus looked at his reflection one last ti before leaving the room.

He reached the arena.

His mind automatically suppressed the thoughts of Kyle and Alia toh the back of his mind.

The most important thing at the mont was winning this face-off, for his people, for his lineage, for his father, for his dreams, and his wife, whom he promised he would win.

Everything mattered last.

He looked at his family, who walked to him, stepping out of their designated area.

The first to reach him was Rosaline.

"This is a face-off for the throne, but both of you shouldn’t forget that we are family first," She said.

Cyrus humd.

The indication was clear—no lethal attacks.

But was Patrick going to follow the sa? From all the information his people gathered, Dominic wasn’t exactly going to act like a sheep today, like he pretends to be.

He was going to show his wolf side through his son.

"I know," Cyrus said.

Rowena walked to him and looked into his eyes.

"I know you’ll win, brother. I am not picking sides, but even a fool can see the truth," She said.

Cyrus smirked at her words.

"You have grown intelligent," he said, and Cassius rolled his eyes.

"I am sure she would’ve never shown this trust in ," He said before patting Cyrus’s back since he was still older than him.

The other family mbers just nodded at him.

The group then went to Patrick and probably said the exact words.

Cyrus’s face sombered when his gaze t with Dominic, who was looking at him with a confident glint in his eyes.

It was good that he was confident. The more confident he was, the more he would love breaking it.

"Prince Cyrus and Prince Patrick, ready?" The host asked.

For this particular face-off, both candidates needed to be addressed as ’Prince’ to eliminate any bias.

Cyrus walked to the centre of the arena and looked at Patrick before shaking hands with him.

Patrick noticed that he was wearing gloves.

"Still don’t trust ?" Patrick asked.

"It’s your father that I don’t trust," Cyrus said and shook Patrick’s hand.

He then turned in the direction he knew his wife was sitting.

He looked straight at Alia before nodding.

Alia nodded back.

Cyrus sighed and adjusted his mask.

"Let’s begin," He said.

Patrick nodded, and they took a few steps back from each other.

One sword was given to each.

Patrick didn’t move his gaze from Cyrus even for a second while the latter was busy looking around, seeing if the guests he had invited had arrived.

As soon as the bell rang, Patrick didn’t waste a second and used his supernatural speed to attack Cyrus.

Cyrus, who looked distracted, raised his hand at the right second and countered the attack.

The impact was so hard that both were displaced from their respective places.

While Patrick moved a few tres away, Cyrus just took a couple of steps back.

This slight difference could easily asure the strength of their bodies.

"Bring it on," Cyrus smirked at Patrick, finally giving him the attention he was demanding, the kind of attention he was going to regret.
