"I understand your concern," Dominic said, and was about to leave when Caron’s words stopped him.

"Does King Cyrus know about your eting with the rogues here? I am sure the royal ministry banned any pack or royal eting these rogues specifically," Caron said.

Dominic smiled bitterly.

Even though the boy was just a student, he was pretty sharp and exactly like his uncle, the council head, who never missed an opportunity to strike.

"I forgot about . My bad. I won’t repeat this mistake. Please overlook this one," Dominic said.

Caron was about to nod when he suddenly heard a large commotion from the adjacent building and furrowed his brows.

He turned to look at the building and noticed so smoke coming out of the laboratory. His gaze deepened.

Seeing the boy distracted, Dominic slipped out of the University. Kyle, standing casually, felt a weird pain in his chest, and his gaze turned to the laboratory.

His mate was in pain. Earlier, he could never guess the reason behind the subtle and occasional pain in his chest, but after eting Alia that night, he understood it all.

Whenever Alia is in deep, unbearable pain, he is in pain too. Because of the lack of the mating mark, his body and mate bond doesn’t feel subtle or diocre pain from her, but if the pain is unbearable for her, he always finds out about it.

Kyle clenched his fists and, without caring about anything, he jumped down from the first floor, rushing to the building to see what happened.

Caron also rushed to the building. After all, it was his duty to ensure Alia was alright and to observe her. She had gotten hurt earlier, too.

Kyle walked to the infirmary, where Alia was lying on the bed, and everyone circled her.

He saw the vice principal and Professor Kinsley leaving shortly before they t Caron and scolded the guy a bit.

He thinned his lips.

The triplet alphas were stuck to her side like glue. He didn’t want to cause any trouble, but he wanted to be there to ensure she was okay.

He looked around, thinking of a way before giving a student so money and asking him to call the triplet alphas that soone is challenging them to a duel on the ground.

Since they were alphas, they won’t deny it.

Once the triplet alphas left, Kyle entered the infirmary and looked at the girl.

His stance changed as soon as he saw her wrapped hands and feet. His gaze turned dark as he walked beside her bed.

"You don’t know how to care for yourself without , do you?" Kyle asked.

Alia’s eyes fluttered open at the familiar voice, and she narrowed her brows.

"What are you doing here? Get lost," She said.

Kyle smiled at her words.

"You seed to hate these days," Kyle said nonchalantly.

Alia glared at the man, not engaging in talk with him.

"Is it because of what happened last ti?" He asked.

The evident blush on her cheeks indicated he had guessed it right.

It was wrong of him to force that kiss on her and make her feel all of that without her permission. He indeed crossed a line there, but how could he really help himself?

She went ahead, almost had sex with that husband of hers, and even marked him. And he was just soone she chose.

But what did he get? He was her mate. He was the one destined to be hers. She was the one that the moon goddess chose for him.

Then how could he let go of that so easily?

Were his emotions a joke?

"Do you think I am pathetic?" Kyle asked.

For the first ti, Alia saw a crack in the arrogant shield that Kyle built around himself.

The sadness in his tone made Alia’s heart clench painfully.

She didn’t want to hurt him, but she knew he was hurting, too. And why not? She was his mate, and he probably wanted her to be his, but it wasn’t like she could help it either.

She was in love with King Cyrus, and while Kyle was handso, indescribably charming, and soone she would’ve accepted if King Cyrus wasn’t in the picture, it wasn’t like she could have both of them.

Besides, it’s not like she didn’t try to reject him the last ti.

The man didn’t allow her to do it. He probably loved her a little more than she anticipated.

"I don’t think you are pathetic," Alia said.

Kyle raised his brows.

"You don’t? Isn’t that why I am not your first choice? Because I am a rogue, I can’t give you a luxurious and relaxing life, and I have no such big identity as your husband. I grew up in an orphanage, and you don’t trust my loyalty," Kyle said.

Alia felt guilty.

She didn’t want to make it look like that. Was that what he had been thinking?

"I never thought that. Don’t say such negative things about yourself. It wasn’t in your hands if your parents died or you grew up like that. If you had found your parents or they had been with you, life would’ve been different," Alia said.

Kyle had been joking with her. He never thought of those things. After observing her for so long, he knew Alia wasn’t the kind of girl who would believe such things about anyone, let alone him.

But hearing those words from her mouth felt like a soothing ointnt to the wounds on his heart that he never knew he needed.

"You, out of all people, should know that having parents doesn’t an a good life," Kyle said.

Alia looked down at his words.

She knew he was talking about her father, and she sighed.

Right. How could she say such words without thinking twice?

She was about to apologise when Kyle interrupted her.

"Don’t you think it’s fate? You, Cyrus, and I, none of us felt that parental love irrespective of our position or place? Maybe we are bound to have that love for each other?" Kyle smirked.

Alia’s eyes widened at his words.

What was he even insinuating here? Did she hear it right?

"Y-you an..." Alia stuttered, her womanhood reacting wildly at the words.

She never knew she could beco excited just at the ntion of such words until she t Kyle and Cyrus.

"What is going on inside your dirty head, Alia? I an, we can have you one at a ti. Your days should be mine and your nights should be his," Kyle leaned before pressing his lips on her neck.

"You are a ss, sweetheart. Do you know why? Because even you know that you want both of us," Kyle said before he pecked her lips.

Since Alia had marked Cyrus, he knew the king would be here soon because he would feel her pain, too.

"Take care of yourself, for , for us," He looked at Alia one last ti before leaving the room.
