The whole eting ca to a close a a brand new day ca to be, They were all gathered outside the mansion as Adam, Selena and Duke were leaving.
"Enjoy the rest of your weekend children. You’ve earned it."
Adam, Duke, and Selena bowed before they took their leave. They saw Katie approach them with a smile.
"Don’t be a stranger, you should visit often." She said.
Selena and Duke returned her smile and they all hugged each other as if they would be away from each for a long ti.
"Yeah we’ll co back and visit." Selena said as they prepared to leave the palace.
They reached the palace gardens, the sunlight was filtering through the tall crystal windows.
Katie slowed her walking pace. "Things will get dangerous soon. Just like we talked about yesterday, the cultists are being more active lately. And father is already preparing counterasures so you all need to stay sharp."
"Yeah, I know." Adam replied.
Duke just grinned. "No worries sis, we’ll make sure that they regret ever trying to target us."
Katie just laughed softly, she really missed these talks. "Your still reckless as ever."
They soon started to leave the palace gates, the guards saw them approaching and they bowed deeply.
They golden doors soon shut behind as Katie was waving them goodbye.
That’s when the capital city’s noise returned, there lively markets, the cars and also the distant chatters.
Adam took a steady deep breath, he was glancing at the blue sky above. "Well it feels like things are going to change." He murmured.
Selena nodded in agreent. "Yeah seems so, but when they do we’ll just face those challenges together."
All three of them then continued going back to the academy, as they moved down the bustling streets.
They were unaware of the eyes that were still lingering on them, it was from the palace’s highest balcony.
It was Cedric’s cold store that was following them on each step they took.
After parting ways with the royal family, the three of them made their way back towards the academy.
By the ti they all reached the academy, the sun was already going down.
"Guys I’ll see you another ti, I need to go et professor Veyra." He said to them.
"Is it about the Guild?" Selena asked.
"Yeah, I think it’s ti I check it out." Adam responded.
"Alright, guess we’ll see each other soon." Duke said.
That’s when they all parted ways and Adam was on his way to et professor Veyra.
He rembered that he had to et her soon, so they can talk about the procedures about her Guild.
When he arrived and entered her office, she was already there waiting, arms crossed, and she still had her usual calm and also sharp expression on her face.
"Your here, Adam." She gritted him with a small nod. "Your here just in ti, sir we have much to discuss."
Adam nodded, as he sat across from her desk.
"As you know, I’m no longer just your professor." She began to speak. "I’m also a Guild Master. It’s one of the top ten guilds in the whole kingdom, and we mostly deal with threats to the kingdom."
She then slightly leaned back. "And also we don’t asure our mbers just on rank alone. In our guild we judge our mbers in three things. Power, Consistency and also contribution. The standing you have within the guild determines what kind of missions you’ll get and also what privileges you’ll receive."
Adam too in the information, and he nodded thoughtfully. "I see, so it’s based on rit."
"Yeah, exactly." She said, with a small smile on her face. "And also, since your joining under my personal recomndation. You’ll start off as a Bronze-Class Initiate. So prove yourself, and you’ll rise through the rankings fast, especially with the potential you hold."
She then stood up, motioning for him to follow her.
"Follow , I’ll show you around."
They then exited the office and passed through a teleportation array that was in the academy, it transported them to the guild hall.
That’s when they appeared in a grand chamber, it was fill with movent. Guild mbers, clerks and also warriors we’re moving about with a clear purpose.
The whole hall was vast, it was illuminated with mana glowing mana crystals that were engraved with runes. They were modeled into square shaped lights in the ceiling.
There were banners of silver and violet that were hung proudly, and also large systematic boards were displayed with ongoing requests and also monster reports.
"This is our Guild’s main base," Veyra said, as they walked through the hall. "Our mbers specialize mostly in reconnaissance, assassination suppression, and also high-risk dungeon managent."
Adam’s eyes were scanning the whole place, powerful mana signatures were filling the air. He knew that everyone here was strong.
As they walked, they eventually reached a central counter, there was a woman who was leaning casually against the desk.
The woman had striking scarlet hair that was tied in a braid, golden eyes that were gleaming with confidence.
"Veyra," she gritted her, there was a smirk that was tugging at her lips. "So is this the new recruit you’ve been talking to about?"
Veyra just smiled faintly. "Yeah. Adam, this is Arlen. She my right hand, and is also one of our senior mbers. She’s a peak A rank. And she’ll be your main contact whenever I’m not available."
Arlen started sizing Adam up, her gaze was sharp but it wasn’t unfriendly. "So your the kid with the affinity for space, huh? Hm not bad... though I prefer seeing your strength myself rather than hearing rumors."
Adam just smiled and said. "That’s fair enough, proving myself through action is much better anyway."
Arlan’s smirk widened. "That’s a good answer."
That’s when Veyra handed Adam a small, rune-etched card. "This will be your guild identify card. We linked it to your mana signature. So you’ll use it to access the guild facilities, check missions, and also to receive your paynts."
Adam took it and looked at it carefully, he felt the card pulse faintly with his mana as they synchronized. His na and also rank rank were shimred across it’s surface."
[Na: Adam]
[Rank: Bronze Initiate]
[Affinities: Space/Ice]
"And also your initial registration bonus have all been transferred," Veyra added, "This has 50’000 credits and also another 10’000 for how you perford in the dungeon evaluation in the academy."
Adam looked at her with mild surprise. "Wow... that’s generous."
"Well consider this an investnt," Veyra replied with a smirk. "So I expect good results."
Adam nodded firmly. "And you’ll get them."
Arlen just crossed her arms, she had a proud grin forming.
"He sure has guys, I’ll give him that much. But let’s just hope he can keep up, when the real work starts to begin."
Veyra just glanced at her with a knowing look. "Hey, don’t scare him off already."
Adam just laughed lightly. "Well I’ll take my chances."
They then walked deeper into the guilds complex, they moved past the training grounds and also the mission halls, when walking he couldn’t help feel the excitent that was stirring up in his chest.
Veyra then stopped just near a wide stone courtyard. It was enclosed with a shimring mana barrier.
The whole area was bustling with activity, as guild mbers were sparring, mages were practicing they spell formations and their instructors were watching from the sidelines.
"This is our main training hall," she said, as she glanced at Adam. "Every new recruit is required to demonstrate their combat capacity before their allowed to take on missions. It helps us to assign appropriate ranks and tasks as well."
Arlen started cracking her knuckles, and a smile smirk ford on her lips. "I’ll handle his assessnt myself."
"Arlen," Veyra said to her with a sigh. "Don’t go overboard."
"Haha, no promises." She replied, as she stepped forward.
Adam followed her, he stretched his shoulders slightly. "So are we doing this now?"
"Don’t worry." Arlen said with a grin, she slid her foot across the ground as mana was flaring around her, it was golden and also fierce. "I’ll go easy on you, so just show what you can do."
She started to blur out of sight.
Adam’s eyes narrowed — she was fat, and her movents were being enhanced with compressed mana. Tags when her fist ca straight for his jaw, but before it could even connect—
BOOM!
There was faint ripple in the air as it pulsed outward, and this diverted Arlen’s attack slightly, the attack missed his face just by a few inches.
"Hoh... so that’s the rumored space elent?" She said, as she landed gracefully just a few ters away. "Well that’s not sothing you see everyday."
Adam just smirked faintly. "Well I told you, I prefer to prove myself through my actions."
Arlen chuckled to herself. "Well then, let’s see if you can keep up!"
Flas erupted from around her body, golden fire that was laced with mana, the fire was burning hit enough to distort the air itself. She then lunged towards Adam like a whip.
