Just when everyone was arguing and no one was willing to agree with each other, Ashtel sighed deeply and tapped the table lightly.

Hearing that table tap and that unique mana signature of Ashtel, the fierce quarrel going on in the meeting room finally stopped as everyone calmed down and controlled themselves, finally looking in Ashtel’s direction.

"Everyone sit down, I have something to say..."

Ashtel’s voice had a rare solemn tone in it and as everyone was under a misunderstanding that Ashtel had forced someone as strong as the Demon King to retreat and had saved them all,

They were all willing to listen to Ashtel’s words at the moment. Thus, once Ashtel asked them to stop quarreling among themselves, all of them glared at each other but still sat back down on their seats with unsatisfied looks on their faces.

Seeing this situation, Ashtel knew that using his strength to suppress them all to listen was pointless.

All these people here had sustained heavy damage due to the demon armies, and all of them were furious because of the disaster that had fallen on their hometown.

They were ready to march straight into the demon continent and slaughter as many demons as possible for revenge right now; thus, suppressing them with random reasons and pointless banter was not possible.

"Everyone... The Demon Army didn’t just invade us; they penetrated deep into our territories, attacked weak points that only we should have knowledge about and did precise coordinated strikes on areas that were the least guarded at the time..."

"Do you think this is a coincidence? No. This is no mere coincidence; the demon army had a profound understanding of our military secrets and structures; they knew the positioning of our troops..."

"And they made plans for this attack beforehand..."

Ashtel stared into everyone’s eyes as he slowly turned his head to look at everyone sitting on the table.

"Everyone, I don’t want to create panic and distrust among ourselves when there’s a powerful external enemy is standing right at our doorsteps..."

"But I am afraid that someone among us has already colluded with the demons and have provided them with a lot of key information about the world alliance..."

Ashtel’s solemn words carried a tone of sadness, regret, and pity, expressing his regrets for the incident that has happened recently.

He knew full well that there was no such thing as a mole in their own organization, and if there were any, they were clearly not among the SS-ranker group, as it would have been easy to identify if this was the case.

Ashtel had seen the Demon King use a type of power that was almost identical to and even stronger than Lia’s, and after recovering, he had even confirmed it with Rio, and the answer he got was concerning.

Rio had already told Ashtel that the power that the Demon King used to defeat him and penetrate the secrets of the world alliance was a legendary skill and was called ’Destined Fate’!

This power could help the user not only read the fate of themselves but also of all entities in their range.

Moreover, the Demon King could easily find out anything and everything about the world by reading these strings of destinies, so there was no such thing as secrets in front of him; everything was like an open book to him.

This power was so overwhelmingly strong and horrific that even Ashtel felt a headache just thinking about the fact that the Demon King Nebo Dahaka has existed for a thousand years now and likely knows all the secrets of the World Alliance and everyone else!

Ashtel even felt confused about whether the last time they successfully lured the Demon King out of his palace was with their plans or if the Demon King was following along with them on purpose for some reason.

And most importantly, even if the world alliance tried to do a surprise attack on the Demon King, he would easily notice it all; even the secret meeting they were holding right now was likely not a secret to him!

Ashtel was deeply shaken after knowing all of this, and even he felt a bit of fear about how destructive and overwhelmingly powerful the Demon King of the current generation was!

The fact that Rio had made such a powerful foe retreat willingly was something even Ashtel could not properly understand and prehend.

He knew that Rio was talented and exceptional because Rio could control both mana and miasma at the same time, but even he couldn’t understand why the Demon King would retreat so suddenly just because of Rio.

Although Ashtel wanted to ask Rio about this matter too, he felt that Rio was reluctant to mention it, and thus he could only hold his curiosity back for now at least.

’I can’t let the world alliance go to war with the demon race right now, at least not until Rio bees an SS-ranker.’

The world alliance was full of flaws due to it being a band of random races tied up together just to fight a mon enemy.

Just like any other alliance out there, the world alliance also had its own weaknesses, and if those weaknesses were targeted correctly, the entire alliance would e crumbling down instantly!

Usually, Ashtel wouldn’t worry about such things, as there has never been a case when an enemy could accurately target the world alliance’s weaknesses like this in history, but things were different now.

If the world alliance started a war prematurely right now, it wouldn’t take much for the Demon King to destroy it with his ability to easily see through others’ weaknesses.

Thus, Ashtel had to create a reason, a reason that would make all the members of the alliance distracted and make them forget about attacking the demon race for now.

And the reason that Ashtel came up with was,

"Everyone, before we think about attacking the Demon Race, we need to find and purge this traitor from amidst our ranks..."

"Otherwise, no matter what plans we make and what secret meetings we hold... everything would be known to the demon race and we will still suffer badly..."

"Our people have already suffered enough; we cannot repeat the same mistake again..."
