Qhuin’s eye twitched.
"Weakened state?"
He looked down at his tiny, fluffy body, with small paws, soft white fur, and tiny claws that looked incapable of harming anything stronger than a butterfly.
"...I’m a rabbit."
The system remained silent.
Qhuin gazed at the system.
"Explain."

"Compatible?" Qhuin almost laughed. "How exactly is this compatible?"
He lifted one tiny paw in disbelief. Pink paw pads stared back at him. Tiny, harmless claws—his dignity was physically hurt.
He felt insulted by his own existence. Before he could continue questioning the system, footsteps suddenly echoed outside the room.
Qhuin imdiately froze, his ears instinctively twitching upward.
The door slowly opened.
A girl entered quietly, carrying a basket full of books.
She looked around sixteen or seventeen, with silver-blonde hair tied loosely behind her head. Her academy uniform was neat, but the fabric looked slightly faded compared to what nobles normally wore. Dark circles rested beneath her eyes, making her look exhausted.
The mont she saw him, her tired face imdiately brightened.
"Snowy!"
Qhuin blinked.
’Snowy?’
Before he could react, the girl hurried forward and scooped him into her arms, pressing him tightly against her chest.
Qhuin’s brain froze for half a second, and his expression darkened.
"How dare—"
"Squeak!"
The words ca out as another humiliating rabbit noise. The girl smiled warmly while rubbing her cheek against his fur.
"I missed you..."
Qhuin stared at her blankly, his ancient vampire brain struggling to process the situation.
A human was holding him, and his pride took critical damage.
The girl sat on the bed while gently petting him.
"You’re lucky you’re cute," she whispered. "Everything feels terrible today..."
Qhuin narrowed his eyes slightly as he felt sadness in her voice.
His gaze slowly wandered around the room. It looked strangely empty. Old books were stacked neatly in the corners, while the furniture showed years of wear.
Not poor.
But definitely struggling.
Qhuin quietly observed everything: a small room, an academic dormitory, and magic textbooks, alchemy notes, and beast evolution theories.
"...Academy?"
His eyes sharpened.

The girl suddenly reached into her pocket and pulled out an orange vegetable.

The girl smiled.
"A carrot."
She held it toward him happily.
"Your favorite."

Qhuin slowly looked at the carrot, then at her, then back at the carrot. The disrespect he felt was unbelievable.
"I am a vampire lord."
She pushed the carrot closer.
"Eat."
Qhuin’s eye twitched violently.
"I drank the blood of magical beasts."
The carrot got closer.
"I slaughtered hunters."
Closer.
"I survived wars."
Closer.

The vegetable flew across the room and smacked against the wall before falling onto the floor.
The girl froze.
Qhuin also froze.
Silence filled the room.
"...Snowy?"
Qhuin lifted his chin proudly. That’s right, know your place.
The girl stared at him in shock before her lips slowly trembled.
"You’ve never rejected carrots before..."
Qhuin imdiately sensed danger.
Her eyes beca watery.
"...Are you mad at ?"
Qhuin blinked.
"No?"
"Squeak."
The girl looked even more heartbroken.
Qhuin internally panicked. Won crying had always been one of his weaknesses, not because he cared, but because they beca unpredictable.
"I-I know I’m a failure..." she whispered.
Qhuin paused.
’Failure?’
The girl lowered her head.
"Everyone else at Aurelius Academy already ford contracts with strong beasts..."
Her fingers tightened around her skirt.
"...but I ended up with a weak rabbit."
Qhuin’s eye twitched again.

This was getting personal now. The girl continued quietly.

For the first ti, Qhuin looked into her eyes. They were tired and lonely, trying hard not to cry, and then he suddenly understood: she wasn’t insulting him.
She was insulting herself.

Then he slowly turned toward the girl.

Qhuin quickly jumped away from her arms, visibly disturbed. Absolutely not. That reaction never happened.
Suddenly, a loud bell echoed outside, causing Lina to imdiately stand up.
"Oh no..."
Nervousness appeared across her face.

Qhuin watched her quietly as she moved toward a small mirror and fixed her uniform carefully. Even from behind, he could sense the tension in her shoulders.
"What is a Potential Scan?" he asked instinctively.
"Squeak?"
Lina looked at him through the mirror. "They’ll evaluate all first-year beast contractors today..."
Her voice lowered slightly.
"...Everyone’s expecting to fail again."
Qhuin tilted his head.
Again?
Lina picked him up gently and placed him on her shoulder.
"You’re coming too, Snowy."
Qhuin resisted the urge to complain. Being carried like luggage was humiliating, but information ca first.
As Lina walked toward the door, Qhuin finally looked outside properly.
Massive white towers stretched into the sky. Students in silver uniforms moved across enormous academy grounds while magical beasts flew overhead.
The air itself carried mana.
Qhuin’s crimson eyes slowly narrowed. A magical academy with beast contractors and evolution systems.
And sohow, he was now soone’s rabbit.
