Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive Chapter 67: Ch 67: An Offer by Thief - Part 1
A silent gasp echoed across the room at that na before people began to gossip among themselves whether they could trust the thief or not.
It was a na they did recognize from the top of the rankings, but they were not sure if he was truly worthy of their attention and trust.
"Everyone, I understand that you are suspicious about and my abilities. But I would like to prove to you that my abilities are the real deal. I would like to make a prediction—next round, a new girl will beco the no. 1 ranked player, and she will be far more powerful than anyone we have seen till now."
No one believed him, but they paid attention to Thief’s words. He knew that they all were willing to listen to him, but this much was not enough.
He needed a bigger bait to hook such important fishes.
"That is not all. After the next ga, the communication network will resu, but it will be system-based. If you want to take advantage of it, you should be ready."
Now that caught everyone’s attention.
With the internet down and people not willing to look after and work to keep it up, the influential people were worried about their influence wavering. So this news brought them a sense of relief.
However...
’Can we really trust anything this person is saying? Only ti will tell.’
"I can tell that you all do not trust or my words at the mont, but that is fine. I can wait for you all to co around."
Thief reassured before he walked out. He was not willing to risk his life any more than this.
The people in charge looked at his back with worry. They did not trust Thief, but his words were interesting, and his ability to look into the future seed even more interesting... (if the reports on him were to be believed).
"Well, gentlen. We can co back to this topic after the next ga. Let’s take humanity’s next great leap once we are sure."
The eting ca to an end, but it had the potential to change humanity’s future in a direction never seen before.
__________
"So, you are not a human...? You...do look a little non-human with your pupil-less eyes and the barely visible scales on your face... and according to this logic, Andrew is also not a human...? But he looks human...? I an, he is a famous person and all..."
Clara tried to wrap her head around what Seraphina and Andrew had told her about their situation, but it was hard for her. Not because she was dumb or sothing, but because it felt too far-fetched to be real.
"The system is real, and we are playing a deadly ga. I don’t think it is too far-fetched to think that there are more universes out there. I an, all those admins with the system exist."
Lilianna pointed out. She had co back from her shock much quicker than Clara.
She leveled Seraphina with a look between amazent and annoyance, but she quickly masked it all to no longer let her emotions be known clearly.
"Well, Seraphina is the sa person she was in the other world, but I was just reborn in this world with my mories. So in that sense, I think we can classify Seraphina as an alien, but I am 100% human right now."
Andrew pointed out, and Lilianna’s breath eased just a little bit.
"Oh wow! How cool...I an, not that your ho got destroyed, but eting aliens...I an, those who do not want to kill us."
Clara did not seem to know what she should say.
Emperor was the only one who remained quiet, and his silence was warranting. He seed to have accepted Seraphina for now, but he had not eased up on her.
"So...we have a month before our next ga. We should take this ti to show Seraphina around Earth. Not that we can show her much, but still. It can be fun."
Clara pointed out, but no one else shared her enthusiasm. She was about to give up when Seraphina leveled her with a small but bright smile on her face.
"It would be my honor to see this world of yours and everything it has to offer. I am sure that it will be a lovely and wonderful place, just like you all."
Seraphina smiled, but it did not reach her eyes. But those who noticed did not feel like asking her what was wrong.
"Nice. Let’s head out now. Andrew, Emperor, Lilianna, want to co along?"
Clara asked, and Emperor imdiately scoffed at her.
"No. And you should remain here as well. You have too much training to do."
Clara’s face fell at Emperor’s words.
"B-But showing Sera around..."
"Can wait."
Clara deflated like a balloon, and Lilianna felt bad for her.
"Don’t worry, Clara. I know you really want to show Seraphina around, so I will do that in your stead. You should focus on your training."
Lilianna told Clara, who let out an anguished cry.
"N-No...that was not what I ant...Lilianna, how can you betray like this...?"
Clara cried out, but no one paid attention to her acting.
Lilianna smiled toward Seraphina, and that smile hid all her jealousy and other feelings.
"Shall we head out, Miss Seraphina? I will show you this world in my colleague’s stead."
Seraphina gave Lilianna her hand with a smile on her face.
"Of course. What about you, Andrew? Are you going to co along as well?"
Andrew opened his mouth to reject that request. But a single look at everyone around him, and he changed his mind.
"Sure, I will co along with you as well. I have a feeling that going out will be a fun experience for as well. I have not had a chance to look around in the human world either."
Lilianna’s expression turned just a little awkward, but she quickly masked it and showed Andrew a happy smile.
"Of course. You are welco to join us anyti you want."
She assured, and Andrew nodded and followed after her and Seraphina.
