Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive Chapter 55: Ch 55: Tentative Acceptance
"Andrew, a little explanation will be helpful. I think there is a misunderstanding here."
Lilianna carefully observed the situation around her. She looked at the hand the female in front of her had placed on Andrew’s arm, and her frown deepened. A part of her felt irritated and wanted to drag that hand away.
But the fact that Andrew did not say anything to the owner of that hand or even acknowledge it as problematic made her step back.
However, unlike her, Clara had no filter on her mouth.
"Andrew, you know that lady? She doesn’t really look human. Are you sure she’s safe?"
Clara trusted Andrew completely, so she was willing to believe anything he told her. But Emperor was not the sa as her. Unlike Clara, he kept glaring at Seraphina, and his hand flexed in an attempt to get to her.
Unfortunately for him, Andrew’s shield protected her.
"I do know her. This person here is soone who has helped out in the past, but right now, she’s in a tricky situation. Emperor, I want you to listen to before you do anything stupid. Things have changed considerably compared to your last rounds. So how about you calm down now?"
Emperor did not look happy at the fact that Andrew was trying to diate between him and the person who would beco humanity’s enemy.
If possible, he would rather not risk keeping the enemy alive.
That being said...he had noticed the obvious difference in power between himself and Seraphina. Had they fought, he would have been eventually defeated.
"Tsk, alright. I am willing to listen to what you have to say."
He finally cald down, but Andrew did not drop his shield. He had no idea when Emperor might change his mind and attack Seraphina. And knowing Seraphina’s nature, she would not hold back and attack right back.
Soone would get injured for sure in their clash, and it was a future Andrew wanted to avoid at all costs.
’What a hassle.’
"Alright, let start by saying this-Seraphina is not our enemy. She has the potential of becoming our enemy, but she also has the potential to beco a player and an ally. Having her as an ally will be much more beneficial to us."
Emperor’s eyes still looked annoyed at Andrew’s offer. But he did pause to think about this.
Andrew noticed gears turning in his head before they settled on blank awareness.
"How sure can you be about this? After all, she is not a human..."
Lilianna ended up complaining first. She was usually not soone who pointed fingers at others, but this ti, she could not help it.
Sothing about the female in front of her scread bad news to her. Her instincts told her that if she allowed Seraphina to get close to Andrew, then sothing might happen between them.
Clara caught on to Lilianna’s nervousness as well, but unlike the others, she was more willing to give people a chance. Plus, she trusted Andrew as well.
"Hmm, I see. If you’re sure that she’s safe to be with, then I will accept her. The more people we have on our side, the better it will be for us, right?"
Clara’s acceptance made the air feel a little lighter, and Andrew turned toward the other two.
Lilianna noticed his subtly hidden eagerness and felt like she had no choice but to agree with him.
"I...guess I will accept her as well. I still think we should be cautious, but you have not made any bad decisions..."
She explained her reason, and her eyes kept moving toward Seraphina with barely hidden curiosity. Not that Seraphina gave her much of a reaction.
Now there was only one person left. Emperor looked like he had swallowed a bitter lemon as he contemplated what he should do.
On one hand, he wanted to end the risk of Seraphina’s future destruction. But...this ti, things were not the sa as in the past. There was a chance that Seraphina could beco an ally instead of a fearso enemy.
And any firepower gained against the system was better than nothing...
"Fine. I will agree as well. But the second she becos a danger to Earth, I will cleave her head from her body."
That was as good of a peace offering as Emperor was going to give.
"You won’t have to do that. If Seraphina ever loses her reason or turns against us, I will be the one to end her."
Andrew assured them, but he hoped that such a ti would not co.
Seraphina did not say anything during that ti, and she kept watching this exchange while biting her lip. She let out a sigh of relief once she was accepted.
"Alright, enough of this depressing talk. We should talk about what we need to do next. We have a tyrant to overthrow...but how? Should we launch an overall attack?"
Clara quickly broke the atmosphere and brought things back on track. Her optimism caused the others to think about the bigger issue at hand.
"Sohow, I don’t think it would be that easy for us to break the queen’s defences. It is a quest that is ant for everyone. There must be another way..."
Lilianna quickly corrected Clara, and the excited female sighed.
"You are right. So, does anyone have any idea where the answer lies?"
She asked, and for the first ti, Seraphina spoke up.
"The quest should have given you so hints. Did your quest ask you to et the shoemaker as well? Did you get the map of the world from him?"
Clara looked startled by Seraphina’s question, but she quickly nodded and opened her map.
"I did get the map...but truthfully, I don’t know what to do with this. I wish it ca with instructions on how to use it."
Both Clara and Lilianna opened their maps to show that they were nothing special.
"Hmm, there should have been another map you should have gotten. I am pretty sure the shoemaker had a map with hidden dungeons marked on it. Based on the information I have obtained, retrieving things from these dungeons will help us show that we are the chosen ones of the gods and give us much-needed support from other NPCs in this ga."
Clara and Lilianna looked shaken at the declaration.
"R-Really? Tsk, so we got scamd? I will go back now and get another map-"
"I don’t think it will be of any use. It was a one-ti quest. You will likely have to find another way to get the map."
Seraphina declared, causing Clara to look crushed.
