When the Guan Family Couple received the ssage from the police asking them to co over, they were puzzled. Why did they want them to co over?
Unable to figure it out, they decided not to dwell on it, tidied themselves, left the residential area, and hailed a taxi, giving the address.
In truth, they felt a bit uneasy inside.
Until they arrived at the place and got out of the car, Qiu Xiaochan felt increasingly unsure and quietly said to her husband, “Old Guan, why do I feel like being called over isn’t a good thing?”
Guan Anshan patted her hand: “Don’t worry, maybe it’s about Fengfeng’s case and they need our cooperation.”
The two walked inside, and a female police officer approached them: “Are you from the Guan Family?”
Guan Anshan nodded: “Yes, we received a call asking us to co over.”
The female police officer noticed their nervousness and smiled, saying, “There’s no need to be nervous, we just need you to help investigate so things. Co with .”
She led them to an office, knocked on the door a few tis: “Deputy Captain Luo, the Guan Family Couple is here.”
A voice ca from inside: “Please let them in.”
When the door opened, there was more than one person inside, seemingly discussing sothing.
Luo Feng knew they were related to Director Lu’s spouse, and courteously said, “Uncle Guan, Aunt Guan, please have a seat. We’ve asked you to co today to verify so matters, so there’s no need to worry.”
Guan Anshan nodded: “Alright, just ask whatever you need to know, and if we know, we’ll definitely tell you.”
Luo Feng looked up at the silent Qiu Xiaochan: “Auntie, do you have a half-brother?”
Upon hearing this, Qiu Xiaochan’s face imdiately turned pale, her body a bit stiff, looking up at Luo Feng: “Why do you ask this?”
Her change in expression caught Luo Feng’s attention: “There’s no need to be afraid; we’re just verifying so information.”
Qiu Xiaochan recalled the past; she truly despised that family, but now she wondered why the policeman was asking about it?
Calming her emotions: “Yes, I have a half-brother, but we haven’t been in contact for over thirty years.”
Luo Feng nodded and then said: “Sun Yufeng’s kidnapping this ti is sowhat related to your half-brother.”
Upon hearing this, Qiu Xiaochan stood up from her chair, angrily shouted: “What did you say?”
Luo Feng hurriedly reassured: “Please don’t get upset; let explain slowly.”
At that mont, Qiu Xiaochan was far from rational: “They wanted to harm , fine, but after thirty years, now they want to hurt my Fengfeng. They’re worse than animals.”
Guan Anshan knew about Qiu Xiaochan’s past; it was a long story. Originally, Qiu Xiaochan had a happy family with an older brother, and they lived harmoniously. But it all changed when her mother kindly took in a so-called good friend from school.
As a result, her family was torn apart, her brother was killed, her mother was angered to death, and the so-called good friend smoothly assud her mother’s role, becoming the second wife of the Qiu Family.
When Qiu Xiaochan’s mother passed away, she was ten years old. Though not very clever, she knew it was that wicked woman who ruined her family because she had seen her father holding the woman and touching her stomach, saying he would give her a title.
Overnight, she fell from heaven to hell. Luckily, her parents still had feelings for her, or else the stepmother wouldn’t have even wanted her to go to school until she finished high school in 1959.
The stepmother could no longer endure and stopped her from studying further, fearing she would attend university, beco independent, and fight back.
She planned to marry her off for so dowry, but Qiu Xiaochan was not easy to deal with. She ran outside, shouting and exposing the stepmother’s dirty deeds.
The neighbors surrounded the front gate, nearly drowning the family of three with their words. At that ti, Qiu Xiaochan’s half-brother was already six years old.
Later, unable to bear the neighbors’ gossip, they secretly sold their assets and moved away. When Qiu Xiaochan returned ho, the house had transferred ownership.
