Chapter 1347: Chapter 1347: Drunkenness
Soon it was Sunday, the day of Luo Haotian and Gu Qianru’s engagent.
On this day, the Luo Family gathered in full, expressing their recognition and welco toward Gu Qianru. anwhile, from the Gu family, Gu Kairong brought along Wang Danli and their daughter Gu Xinyu, while Gu Junfeng and Gu Qihao each ca with their respective spouses.
Old Master Gu invited a number of old friends and hosted a banquet at ho. Wang Xiaoxin and Luo Qiao busied themselves running back and forth, genuinely happy for Gu Qianru, their aunt.
During the engagent banquet, Luo Haotian changed the way he addressed Old Master Gu, calling him “Dad,” earning cheers and applause from everyone present.
Though both were entering second marriages, none of the formalities were omitted. As for the betrothal gift, Luo Haotian presented a bankbook directly.
Since his children had grown up and started their own families, aside from so expenses for his grandchildren, he mostly spent his money buying things for his parents, leaving him with little large-scale spending over the years, allowing him to save quite a bit.
Other than the recent expenses for house renovations, he handed over the bankbook during this engagent as a way of showing his commitnt to Gu Qianru.
At the engagent banquet, the two families finalized the wedding date as the twenty-second day of the twelfth lunar month. Amid the playful cheers of everyone, Gu Qianru also changed the way she addressed the Luo’s Elderly Couple, calling them directly “Dad, Mom.”
The event concluded perfectly.
That day, after leaving the Gu family, the group returned to the Luo Family Old Residence.
After so discussion, they decided to arrange the wedding banquet at Jinyuan Garden, which conveniently had a branch nearby, and was also not far from the chanical Factory Residential Compound.
Luo Haotian joked, “The main reason is that Qiaoqiao can give us a discount, saving quite a bit of money.”
Everyone laughed heartily at this.
Luo Qiao chid in, “How about this—I’ll cover the cost of the wedding banquet as my gift to you.”
Luo Haotian imdiately refused, “That’s out of the question. Just give a discount and that’s enough.”
Luo Xuyuan then stepped in, “How about this—the banquet is sothing you don’t need to concern yourself with. Just let us know how many tables are needed. The banquet will be covered by us five siblings as our blessing to you and Aunt Gu.”
Tears welled up in Luo Haotian’s eyes once more. Just as he was about to refuse, Zhou Guifang said, “Alright, let’s go with Xuyuan’s suggestion. To be honest, your father has had a tough ti these past years. For the two of us to witness him getting remarried, it gives us peace of mind.
Knowing you all are sincerely giving your blessing to your dad makes us very gratified. We also hope the whole family will always remain harmonious and happy. With this, we can say our lives have been fulfilling.”
Everyone understood the deeper aning behind her words. Luo Xuyan stepped forward and said, “Grandma, don’t worry. Dad truly had it rough these years, but eting Aunt Gu is his blessing. Our blessings co from the bottom of our hearts.
All five of us siblings now have our own families, and with each having their own households, there won’t be any more conflicts going forward—we’ll stay peaceful and harmonious.”

That day at work, Luo Qiao received a notice that the anti-cancer dication they had developed had been put into production and was expected to hit hospital and pharmacy shelves before the end of the year. Moreover, its price would be cheaper than dicines of the sa quality abroad.
Her colleagues teased her, urging her to treat them to a celebration.
Feeling joyful, Luo Qiao readily agreed.
At the faculty eting later, Luo Qiao was recognized with an award for her outstanding performance. Everyone knew that during next year’s title evaluations, her promotion to professor was practically guaranteed.
In the evening, Luo Qiao hosted two banquet tables. Everyone gathered, laughing and chatting about recent happenings at school. After a few glasses of wine, the conversation turned to dreams for the future.
It wasn’t until past nine o’clock that the group finally parted, still reluctant to leave.
As Luo Qiao stepped outside, she saw Lu Yichen waiting for her. After saying goodbye to her colleagues, she walked toward him.
Perhaps because of the alcohol, Luo Qiao acted mischievously as she approached, “Which handso guy are you? Can I get to know you?”
Lu Yichen steadied her, “How much did you drink?”
Luo Qiao pouted, “You haven’t answered my question yet.”
Lu Yichen pulled her into his arms and opened the car door, “I don’t make friends with mbers of the opposite sex who aren’t my wife.”
Luo Qiao laughed, reaching out to touch Lu Yichen’s face, “Alright, you passed.”
Lu Yichen closed the car door and walked around to the driver’s side. “From now on, if I’m not with you, you’re not allowed to drink.”
Luo Qiao pouted coquettishly, “You’re so bossy. Why?”
Lu Yichen glanced out the window, leaned closer, and whispered, “Because the way you are now might tempt soone to commit a cri.”
Luo Qiao froze for a mont before realizing what he ant. She imdiately raised her fist and playfully punched Lu Yichen, “You’re so annoying!”
Although Lu Yichen took her punch, his face was full of smiles. He couldn’t help but recall the verse, “A drunken beauty, cheeks as peach-blushed as spring; her coy words, her bashful charm, unforgettable.” His little woman may not be gentle at the mont, but her playful deanor was utterly adorable.
Perhaps she had truly drunk a bit too much. The seat was adjusted just right, and before long, she had genuinely fallen asleep. Lu Yichen took off his coat and gently draped it over her to keep her warm.
When they reached ho, Lu Yichen didn’t wake her, instead gently carried her out of the car. As he was holding her, Luo Qiao opened her eyes to look at him and then closed them again, stubbornly staying nestled in his embrace, refusing to walk herself.
