Chapter 1191: Chapter 1191: The Calculated Farewell Dinner
To take care of Ji Lin, they chose a place not far from ‘Yiren Jiao.’
Luo Qiao, seeking so peace and quiet, opted for a private room. Unnoticed by her, sobody had just stepped out from the adjacent private room—it was Zhai Yuyuan, who had been about to leave but quickly retreated back into the room upon seeing Luo Qiao.
After Luo Qiao entered the neighboring room, Zhai Yuyuan then opened the door and stepped out. The restaurant belonged to a distant relative of hers, and today she had arranged to discuss the matters of her divorce with Ji Wei.
A few steps out the door, sothing suddenly ca to her mind. She spoke a few words to the receptionist, then hastily exited the restaurant.
By the ti Ji Wei arrived, he was escorted to the private room and waited for almost fifteen minutes before Zhai Yuyuan showed up. They ordered food and then brought up the subject of divorce. Ji Wei had originally not wanted to co, but he conceded out of respect for the longstanding friendship between their two families.
According to Zhai Yuyuan, this was a parting al to say goodbye.
Since they were going to divorce, they casually exchanged a few words after the dishes arrived. Yet, Zhai Yuyuan left again mid-al for quite a while.
When she returned, she served Ji Wei a small bowl of sweet fernted rice soup with rice balls: “I rember you like this. The kitchen had so, so I brought a bowl back for you.”
Ji Chuan didn’t think too deeply about it. Previously, it was always he who rembered Zhai Yuyuan’s preferences, but now, as they were separating, she suddenly rembered his. A sudden, bitter feeling overtook him.
Good or bad, once this parting al was over, everyone would return to their starting points, as if it had all been a dream.
Without further thought, he quickly finished off the small bowl of sweet fernted rice soup with rice balls.
Zhai Yuyuan watched him eat and then stood up, saying she needed to use the restroom.
As soon as she left the private room, she noticed a server about to bring soup to the next room. She stopped the server, who recognized her as the relative of the owner.
Just when Zhai Yuyuan was looking for an opportunity, soone behind her called the server for help. Zhai Yuyuan kindly offered to carry the soup for them. Soon, the server returned and took the dish back: “Thank you, Miss Zhai, I’ll go serve the soup to the guests now.”
Zhai Yuyuan replied cheerfully, “Go ahead.”
Ti ticked away, and Luo Qiao and Ji Lin were discussing ‘Yiren Jiao’s future developnt plan.
When the previously served dishes were almost finished, and Luo Qiao was done speaking with Ji Lin, the soup they had ordered was brought to their table, and they each served themselves a bowl.
As Luo Qiao was about to drink the soup, her phone rang: “Auntie, what’s wrong?”
“Okay, okay, okay, I’ll co back right away, don’t worry.”
Hanging up the phone, Luo Qiao turned to Ji Lin: “Ji Lin, I have to go first. My sister’s child has a fever; I need to go check on them.”
Ji Lin had already finished a bowl of soup and hurriedly stood up, “Okay, you drive safely. This soup is good; I’ll have another bowl before I go.”
Luo Qiao picked up her purse, and while walking out, she said, “If it’s tasty, drink more, don’t waste it, I’m leaving.”
Luo Qiao, with her purse in hand, left the room. Zhai Yuyuan, discussing the divorce with Ji Wei, didn’t notice. She was now just trying to delay a little longer, hoping Ji Wei would beco fuzzy-headed soon. If Ji Wei created a scene later, he would be the one at fault. Then, after the divorce, the Ji Family wouldn’t bla her.
She had planned to randomly pick a server in the restaurant, but when she ca up earlier, she saw Luo Qiao. After asking around, she learned that there was Luo Qiao and another girl in that room.
So, she ca up with a malicious plan. After all, soone would be affected. If the other girl in the next room was also affected, then it could only be chalked up to her own bad luck.
Seeing sothing off about Ji Wei, who kept shaking his head, she asked, “Ji Wei, what’s wrong with you?”
Ji Wei felt his head wasn’t clear, and he was extrely dizzy and burning up, his mouth dry and uncomfortable.
Struggling to maintain composure, he said, “That’s it then. I’m done eating. When you’re free, let’s go through the procedures. It’s better for both of us.”
Zhai Yuyuan’s face showed a triumphant smile, “Okay, as you wish. Let’s part amicably. I wish you find your true love soon.”
As they left the private room, they heard the sound of sothing crashing to the ground from the next room.
As they passed by, Zhai Yuyuan purposely said, “There’s an acquaintance inside, shall we check if there’s been an accident?”
Ji Wei didn’t feel well and didn’t want to ddle, but Zhai Yuyuan tugged at him, “I’m scared to go in alone; co give so courage.”
At this point, Ji Wei also realized sothing wasn’t right; his condition was abnormal, but Zhai Yuyuan had already pulled him into the adjacent room.
Zhai Yuyuan, feeling guilty, didn’t dare to look inside, so she didn’t see the situation clearly.
She just pushed Ji Wei into the room before swiftly turning and leaving.
