Chapter 1140: Chapter 1140 How Did This Face Get Disfigured
Luo Qiao had been enjoying her days, ever since that barbecue in her own yard, her relationship with her neighbors had ward even more.
Every day for the past few days, Lu Yichen had been delivering lunch to the school, and when the lab personnel learned that Luo Qiao’s husband had arrived, they all ca to the lab entrance to watch.
Lu Yichen was generous and tactful, bringing lots of food to share and thanking them in fluent English for the care they had shown Luo Qiao before.
He even said that this weekend, he would treat the lab personnel to a grand al, and even Professor Wilson agreed. Everyone was rushing to et deadlines, so they took shorter breaks these few days.
By the weekend, the place was chosen by everyone, but the seats were reserved by Luo Qiao, and Lu Yichen ca with their two daughters.
The two little girls were so cute and soft that everyone wanted to tease them, especially their little faces which beca the main target for pinching, leading the girls to protest repeatedly until everyone finally stopped.
Emma gave them a pair of crystal bracelets right off her arm as a eting gift, but Luo Qiao tried to refuse, saying they were too precious and the kids were too young to accept such gifts, yet Emma insisted on giving them.
Finally, after Professor Wilson spoke up, Luo Qiao let the children thank them and accept the gifts.
Today, the gifts Lu Yichen brought were prepared together with Luo Qiao, including two boxes of tea leaves and a tea set each.
Lu Yichen felt grateful because Luo Qiao had discovered she was pregnant soon after joining the lab, and Professor Wilson and everyone had been very supportive. Since he was soon returning to his country, he wanted to express his gratitude.
Since Luo Qiao was carrying twins, there was a high chance she might give birth prematurely, and if anything happened at the lab, they might need everyone’s help to get her to the hospital.
So this al was partly to et everyone and get acquainted, but also to thank everyone for their care for Luo Qiao and possibly seek their help in the future.
Everyone had enjoyed the al, and when leaving, each took a set of tea leaves and tea ware, expressing profound thanks and vowing to take good care of Luo Qiao in the lab.
After they left the restaurant, Luo Qiao suggested taking her two daughters around the campus, having never brought them to school for safety reasons before. Now being nearby, it seed like a good chance for a stroll.
Just as they reached the school entrance, they heard soone call out, “Dr. Luo.”
Luo Qiao looked in the direction of the voice and saw the Qiao family mbers, “What’s the situation with you all?”
Old Lady Qiao looked sowhat embarrassed, “So issues ca up at ho and caused a delay, please forgive us, Dr. Luo.”
Upon getting a closer look at Luo Qiao’s figure, Old Lady Qiao was surprised, “Dr. Luo, are you pregnant?”
With a gentle touch to her belly, Luo Qiao replied, “Yes.”
Old Lady Qiao’s face showed a mix of emotions but then thought there was no point worrying about it herself, so after congratulating her, she dropped the subject.
Luo Qiao urged her daughters to greet them, and the girls, being well-behaved, politely called out.
Old Lady Qiao, with a kind expression, said, “You’re as beautiful as your mother.”
Luo Qiao noticed sothing different on Qiao Hua’s face, “What happened to your face?”
Luo Qiao was being intentional; she hadn’t forgotten his past disdain towards her, and his remark deserved so backlash.
Qiao Hua replied awkwardly, “I was wrong before, let’s not dwell on it, Dr. Luo.”
Seeing his uneasy expression, Luo Qiao finally let him off, “When did you arrive?”
Just then, a car passed by, and Old Lady Qiao pushed the wheelchair to the side, “We arrived in Boston yesterday, overca the jet lag, and ca here to look for you but didn’t find anyone. We thought we’d try our luck at the main gate.”
Luo Qiao inquired, “Haven’t you had dinner yet?”
Old Lady Qiao nodded, looking a bit embarrassed, “We thought of waiting another hour, and if we still didn’t find you, we’d go back since we’re staying not far from here.”
Luo Qiao took out a pen and paper from her bag and wrote down her phone number, “You’re in luck then; I just happened to be passing by. Keep this, get so rest for a few days, adjust to the ti difference, and then give a call.”
Old Lady Qiao hesitated, “Dr. Luo, you’re pregnant now, it won’t cause any trouble, will it?”
Luo Qiao smiled, “It’s fine, I’m not doing acupuncture every day. For his condition, once every other day is enough, then we’ll see how it goes.”
After finalizing things, the Qiao family mbers left, and Lu Yichen and Luo Qiao entered the school with the two little girls.
Yanyan began running ahead, “Mom, is this the school you attend? It’s really beautiful.”
Yueyue chid in, “When I grow up, I’ll co here to learn, just like mom, and then go back to serve our country.”
Lu Yichen laughed, “How do you know all this?”
Yueyue looked up at her dad, “Great Gramps, Great Granny, and Great Grandad all said so, and mom ntioned it too, isn’t that right?”
Lu Yichen laughed heartily, “Right, perfectly right. Graduate and serve the country, absolutely correct.”
