Chapter 800: Chapter 799: Annoying or Not?

Lu Guangqi and Fang Youlan visited Lu Pengcheng’s house to see the children and only then did they learn that Shao Chengzhi was hospitalized.

Lu Guangqi expressed concern about Shao Chengzhi’s condition, and his expression eased slightly when he learned that it was nothing serious.

Seeing that not only his eldest son and daughter-in-law were at ho, but Lin Xia was also there, he then asked, “If all of you are ho, who is taking care of him at the hospital?”

Shao irou softly said, “My brother! Lin Xia and I were just about to prepare so dishes to take to them at the hospital when we go later!”

The food bought from outside didn’t suit his taste; he liked the food made by Lin Xia, which is why Lin Xia had been cooking the past few days.

If it were not for her in-laws suddenly coming over, she and Lin Xia would already be busy in the kitchen by now.

As soon as Lu Guangqi heard this, he hurriedly urged them, “Ah! Then you should hurry and do what needs to be done! We’ll watch the kids with Pengcheng! We’ll go directly to the hospital with you later to see him!” Since they now knew, there was no reason not to visit.

“Okay! Mom and Dad, you sit first! Lin Xia and I are heading to the kitchen!”

Lin Xia, who had been watching from the sidelines, put down Keke, let her play on her own, greeted them, and followed Shao irou to the kitchen, one after the other.

Fang Youlan watched as Shao irou and Lin Xia headed into the kitchen, then she quietly asked Lu Pengcheng, “Big brother! Wasn’t your father-in-law in good health just a while ago? How co he’s hospitalized? Has sothing happened at ho?”

Lu Pengcheng pretended to be helpless and said, “Mom! What are you thinking about! My father-in-law has an old ailnt; it’s normal for him to be suddenly hospitalized when it flares up!”

The younger brother-in-law had caused a stir at ho because of Liang Wei, and it was, after all, a family disgrace, which shouldn’t be aired in public.

Lu Guangqi also chastised Fang Youlan, “Can’t you think less about troubleso things in your mind every day? If soone is sick and hospitalized, then they are hospitalized. You’re still asking about these things at this ti!” Nowadays, it felt abnormal if Fang Youlan didn’t annoy him several tis a day.

Fang Youlan looked resentfully at the father and son, who seed indignant, “I was just casually asking! You two really don’t take seriously anymore; you won’t even let talk!”

Lu Guangqi frowned, “It’s not that we won’t let you talk! Look at what you’re asking! Who says that being hospitalized has to be because sothing happened at ho? What kind of logic is that?”

He really couldn’t understand what his spouse was thinking.

“What’s wrong with my logic? Now that both my eldest son and his wife are not at the hospital taking care of Old Shao, Shao Xingbang is the only one taking care… ” Fang Youlan believed her reasoning was correct.

“You silly! Isn’t this just waiting at ho to take the food Lin Xia prepares to the hospital to feed them?”

Seeing that the old couple was about to start arguing, Lu Pengcheng quickly interjected, “Dad! Both of you, say less! The kids are watching!”

Jingjing and Keke looked curiously at them speaking, tilting their heads. Faced with the pure eyes of the children, Fang Youlan didn’t want to set a bad example for them.

Once the als were prepared and packed into food containers, Lin Xia was responsible for watching the two children at ho, while Lu Pengcheng drove, taking Lu Guangqi and the three others to the hospital.

When they arrived at the hospital room, only Shao Xingbang and Shao Chengzhi were there.

Lu Guangqi quickly walked up to the bedside, bent over, and asked with concern, “How are you feeling, my dear in-law?”

Fang Youlan stood near the foot of the bed, looking around, a faint smile on her face.

Shao Chengzhi chuckled, “Much better! How co you two even rushed over?” He had been hospitalized and hadn’t intended to let others know.

Lu Guangqi explained, “We were at your house to see the kids and just learned about your illness!”

Being on good terms with Shao Chengzhi, he sincerely added, “At our age, we need to be extra careful; we can’t afford too much emotional fluctuation!”

Shao Chengzhi agreed, “Right! At our age, our body parts are so fragile that even a little bit of carelessness isn’t good!”

Fang Youlan was very curious, as she had previously suspected that sothing was amiss, and now she noticed the unusual behavior of Shao Xingbang.

Her suspicions were sowhat confird, and she couldn’t help but ask impatiently, “My dear, what illness have you contracted? We visited the children a while ago and you looked quite robust!”

Shao Chengzhi’s eyes flickered slightly as he put on a smile, “This is just an old ailnt of mine, it flares up unexpectedly! Especially during this season…” He couldn’t possibly tell his relatives why he had been admitted.

Lu Guangqi noticed a hint of sothing and gave Fang Youlan a stern look, taking over the conversation, “Exactly! No one knows when they might fall ill!”

Lu Guangqi and Fang Youlan didn’t stay in the hospital room for long and soon bid their farewells.

Shao Chengzhi asked Shao Xingbang and Lu Pengcheng to see the guests off.

Shao irou and Shao Xingbang accompanied them to the staircase where they paused and exchanged a few polite words.

Lu Pengcheng was going to drive the old couple back, so he followed his parents downstairs.

While going downstairs, Fang Youlan deliberately looked back.

She whispered to Lu Guangqi, who was descending slowly with the aid of his crutches, “Old man! I’m telling you, Old Shao’s illness this ti must have sothing to do with his youngest son! Have you ever seen Shao Xingbang look so somber and haggard?”

Shao Xingbang was the most cherished child in the Shao family, spoiled by everyone from a young age.

Fang Youlan used to find him arrogant and conceited every ti she saw him.

But this ti he was very different, his face was haggard and his eyes were filled with lancholy, looking as if he was weighed down with worries.

Lu Guangqi rebuked her impatiently, “Aren’t you annoying? What has his illness got to do with you! Just mind your own business!”

Fang Youlan shrank her neck, “I’m just concerned as a relative, aren’t I?”

“Stop dawdling! Let’s head ho!” Lu Guangi said as he moved ahead with the aid of his crutches.

Fang Youlan rolled her eyes at his retreating figure; the old man had grown more irritable with age.

Lu Pengcheng, annoyed by his mother’s chatter, said, “Dad! I’ll go bring the car around!”

Lu Guangqi nodded, “Go ahead!”

Lu Pengcheng hurried downstairs.

Assisted by his cane, Lu Guangqi descended very slowly; Fang Youlan slowed her pace to match his.

When they reached the lobby on the first floor, Fang Youlan brushed past a woman, her expression turning sharp suddenly.

Fang Youlan looked at the woman’s retreating figure and called out uncertainly, “Hua Yongfang!”

When Hua Yongfang heard her na, she turned around instinctively to see who it was.

She saw a well-dressed elderly lady looking at her coldly.

But she didn’t recognize the woman, so she asked politely, “Did you call ?”

It turned out not to be a mistake! It really was her!

Fang Youlan said coldly, “Do you know who I am?”

Fang Youlan had seen Hua Yongfang once during a sentencing, and she could recognize her so easily not only because of Hua Yongfang’s distinctive facial features but also because of a large mole near her eyebrows.
