Arabella and Ferdinand only drank the tea in Olivier Castle. They did not dare touch food since it ant, it would have to be checked for poison. Likewise, they were not even in the mood to eat back there.
But with food prepared by Alfredo, they knew it was delectable before they even began eating.
"I will be dealing with the issue between my assistants later. What about you," Arabella inquired once they were done eating.
She knew Ferdinand had a lot of things to do here too.
"I will et with the ministers. There are a lot of things we need to discuss. Check how the knights are doing. Check my assistants as well. Oh, and I need to et with the advisers too..." Ferdinand enurated, and it was a long list.
"Then, we will et in Estrella later?" Arabella inquired if she should return first. "Or should we stay the night here?"
"Let’s et in Estrella. It’s safer. I don’t even want to leave your side while those magicians are still lurking sowhere," Ferdinand held her hand.
They both had work to do, and he knew his work would take a lot of ti.
"I’ll be fine," Arabella assured him.
The palace was surrounded by multilayer barriers. Alwin had strengthened it and cast so more after the incident when he felt the presence of the God of Mischief.
Humans would not be able to penetrate a barrier he made in an attempt to block a much higher being.
After so rest after their al, it was ti to work.
"Let’s et later tonight, then."
"Yes, see you tonight," Ferdinand kissed her before having Riley teleport him.
Riley returned in a matter of seconds as per Ferdinand’s instructions.
Riley, Rowan, and Rendell were all assigned as her guards for today.
"May I see that magic orb again?" Arabella requested.
She wanted to observe how her assistants worked without her.
Riley then settled the magic orb on the table and the view was the outer room of her office where her assistants were.
Her assistants were silently working on the docunts on their tables. It continued just like that until two of Raymond’s assistants arrived with a heap of docunts.
’I see. Raymond had assigned his most trusted assistants to send the work he usually sends for to my office.’
And those docunts were what her assistants worked on.
All her assistants rose and thanked the two. Once the two left, they all checked the docunts to choose which work to do.
Arabella used to do this. She sorts out the workload before assigning it to those whom she believes are best at it.
But since she was not around, her assistants were the ones choosing the docunts they would work on.
They likely followed the distribution of work she usually did for them.
However, she noticed sothing. When Nadia and Odette got a lot of docunts, Narcissa frowned at them and the two looked troubled. They glanced at each other before returning so of the docunts they were holding.
But Narcissa still gave them a glare. Then the two returned almost half of the docunts they had gathered to work on.
’What’s that supposed to an? Why are they returning it?’
"Riley, can you teleport us there? But make us all invincible and shroud our presence so they would not see or notice us."
’Why would Nadia and Odette return the docunts because of Narcissa? What did she tell them?’
She wanted to hear their thoughts to understand what was going on.
"Yes, of course. Your Majesty."
Riley then teleported them to her study and Arabella listened to her assistant’s thoughts.
[I already warned them not to get a lot of work. Why are they so hardheaded?] Narcissa thought.
Denzel noticed and approached the two.
"Why are you returning those? You can do much more than that. Get as much as you can since more work will arrive later," Denzel comnted.
[But Lady Narcissa will get angry.] Odette and Nadia glanced at each other.
"It’s alright. I can do those docunts as well," Narcissa volunteered and gathered the docunts Nadia and Odette had settled.
"Why should you? You have your own work to do. These types of docunts are usually assigned to them by Her Imperial Majesty. Don’t you think you have been showing off too much lately just because they are listening to you?" Denzel had noticed.
[She lessened the workload Ivan was doing too. She didn’t make it too obvious at first and pretended like she was helping him, but Ivan never needed the help. Nadia and Odette too. Narcissa is acting like she’s helping them, but she must have said sothing to them again.]
"What are you talking about? I’m just helping them do their work. What’s wrong with that? I’m not showing off or anything. If you can’t do your work too, you can give them to as well," Narcissa scoffed.
"No thanks. I don’t need your help. And they do not either. Give those," Denzel held the docunts with both hands and pulled them from Narcissa.
"Hey! What if so docunts got torn?!" Narcissa got angry.
’She has a point. I got nervous at that,’ Arabella sighed in relief when no docunt got torn.
"Hmmp. It will be your fault. Likewise, I knew you were not holding it tightly. And that was exactly why I held them with both hands before retrieving them," Denzel said and handed Nadia and Odette the docunts. "These are your work, so you do it. Don’t let soone order you around. Only Her Majesty is our superior here."
"Why you?! Why are you always getting in my way, you loser!"
"I’m not. You are the one who’s a loser. Do you think Her Majesty would praise you for doing much more work than you should because you stole it from your workmates?" Denzel debated.
Narcissa and Denzel ended up debating and Nadia and Odette didn’t know what to do so they just remained silent so they would not get involved in the banter.
But the two were too noisy and the others were visibly getting irritated.
