After listening to Renee’s story, Arabella asked the forr what she planned to do. And Renee said she would resign as Arabella’s maid.

It was so she could move freely, and Arabella won’t be implicated in her future actions. Renee was thought full enough to think about that.

But Renee was furious and hurt that she wanted to kill Chester and Fatima. She said she would poison them or do whatever it takes in any way she could just to ensure they get a taste of suffering too and end up dying painfully just like the way she did as Evelyn.

Renee’s hatred for Chester was rekindled after seeing him again. Rather, it was only buried deep inside her heart. The embers were fully alive all this ti and were just waiting to be set ablaze.

Fatima was a different case though. Renee died thinking Fatima was her friend. Thus, after calming down a bit, Renee thought she would try to verify first if Fatima was truly in cahoots with Chester.

Since she was the eldest daughter of the second most powerful dukedom in Zygos, Fatima could have been rely married off to the king after Evelyn died.

But if Fatima had indeed been in cahoots with Chester, Renee planned to make her suffer a lot for making a fool out of her and pretending to be her friend while stealing her husband.

Not that she had a strong attachnt to Chester or anything. She could have willingly stepped down if only Fatima asked her directly. It was simply infuriating to have been played like a fool while she thought of the latter as her only light in her dark world as Evelyn.

. . .

Arabella had tea with Renee and made her drink several cups of Ofelia tea. Thankfully, the calming effect worked perfectly.

With Renee having cald down, Arabella managed to make her agree to think about things more deeply before deciding what to do.

She convinced Renee to weigh the consequences before deciding to take revenge in the way she wanted.

After all, killing Chester and Fatima ant abandoning her future as Renee since she would beco a criminal who would be on the run. She would have to live the rest of her life in hiding.

When she was still angry, Renee didn’t care about the consequences at all and didn’t mind dying if she gets to exact her revenge.

However, after calming down, Renee realized that her life right now isn’t so bad even if she wasn’t as pretty or rich as she once was. She wasn’t suffering from violence and cruelty. She wasn’t unhealthy to be unable to do what she wanted to do either.

Her life as Renee was so far the most peaceful and calm. She gets to admire beautiful people and things too.

Thus, Renee agreed to think about it more deeply and inform Arabella first about what she decides before taking action.

. . .

Arabella sighed deeply and settled her back against her chair after Renee left her study. She felt like she aged several years in the span of hours.

If Renee had insisted on acting as soon as possible, things could have ended up as Valeria against Zygos.

As far as everyone knew, Renee was still Arabella’s maid.

Thus, even if Renee resigned, people could assu it was Valeria putting the bla on a maid when it was them who attempted to assassinate the King and Queen of Zygos.

With Alwin having verified that Fynnia was ready for a war, they cannot afford to divide Eliora when they had just managed to stop everyone from blaming each other for Arabella’s assassination.

They needed Zygos to be on good terms with Eliora as well so Zygos would not side with either Fynnia or Griffith.

Thankfully, Alwin’s Ofelia tea worked like magic and made Renee calm enough to think about the life she had now.

Things were so much more complicated than Arabella could have ever thought though. And she was so absorbed with Renee’s story that she forgot Alwin was there with them. She had stopped hearing his thoughts.

But she had to speak with him now. She could tell he was still in the room. She could sohow feel she wasn’t alone yet.

She knew he had sent soone to spy on Renee when they were in Valeria. But she wasn’t sure it still stands true so she had to directly ask Alwin to be sure.

"Alwin, I know you’re there," Arabella called out.

[She knows?!!]

Alwin canceled the invisibility spell and appeared. He was standing just a few steps beside her. She had followed her husband’s instruction to a tee.

"How did Your Majesty know?" Alwin was puzzled and alard.

"I heard my husband tell you not to leave my side at all if he’s not with . I know you wouldn’t disobey him, so I was sure you found a way how," Arabella bead.

The expression on Alwin’s face was funny.

[I see. I was worried for nothing, I thought she sohow had knowledge about magic without knowing.]

’Haha. It’s not like that Alwin. It’s an ability I sohow woke up with in this life.’

"Were you standing there the whole ti?" Arabella inquired. She had spoken with Renee for three hours.

"Yes, I had to be on guard even against that maid. Especially since she was soone who had been a bit suspicious even to Your Majesty before."

"I see. Since you have heard everything, please send soone to watch her closely. She might accidentally encounter them again and end up making her act out before thinking."

Alwin had to send soone that could stop Renee once she tries to do sothing.

Arabella understood why Renee was for wishing for revenge. But now, isn’t the right ti. Even if Renee tried to do sothing, she would only get caught.

The security around Chester and Fatima was tight since they were in foreign territory.

If Renee was going to do sothing, it should be when the security had beco lax. It should also be when whatever actions she took could no longer be interpreted as Arabella or Valeria’s actions.

It should be in several months after the Assembly. aning, Renee would have to follow Chester and Fatima to Zygos and do her revenge there.

But would Renee be able to wait that long?
