Chapter 735: 499 He didn’t call her wife_2

Ultimately, she’s Xiaofeng’s aunt by blood, and her two kids are Xiaofeng’s blood-related nephews. As long as she does her job well, Xiaofeng will surely give her the face she deserves.

“That’s what I think too. Look at how Xiaofeng’s living it up in the Imperial Capital. If the second kid could follow Xiaofeng and find so work there, it would be more respectable than staying at ho, wouldn’t it? The imdiate priority is to make sure the eldest works harder to get into high school. That’s what’s important.”

“I’m just trying to think ahead, you know? We, as parents, definitely need to think ahead of things, don’t you agree?”

“Alright, you handle it.” Su Guisheng, who had lost all sleepiness, got up directly: “I’m off to work.”

“Alright, go.”

When Acheng returned, it was almost four in the afternoon.

The boy and girl twins were playing at the entrance to the village, and they were having a blast.

Gu Yecheng watched them for a while and then waved them over: “Let’s go, we’re going to find Mommy, it’s ti to head back.”

The villagers of Shanghe Village knew he was back, and those who had minor illnesses and pains all ca to him for treatnt, which took up several hours.

The boy and girl twins followed their dad, hopping and bouncing all the way ho.

Xiaofeng was chatting with Ma Donghua.

Of course, Ma Donghua only said pleasant things, which delighted Xiaofeng to no end.

Seeing Yecheng return, Ma Donghua stood up: “Acheng’s back. Acheng, why don’t you and Xiaofeng have dinner before heading back? We’ll kill a chicken tonight, you can leave after eating here.”

While chatting with Xiaofeng, Ma Donghua realized that indeed a lot was forgotten, so this was an opportunity, a ti for her to show her face around Xiaofeng.

So, she must make the most of this period of amnesia to get closer to Xiaofeng.

The fact that the third uncle and third aunt aren’t close with Xiaofeng, what of it? She could be, too.

Gu Yecheng glanced at the two, who were engrossed in their conversation, without dampening their spirits: “Then I’ll trouble auntie.”

“It’s settled, then. I’ll go get ready now. After you’ve eaten, you can head back.” Ma Donghua bead at Acheng’s words.

“You weren’t ho, so auntie ca over and chatted with ,” Xiaofeng said a bit awkwardly as she saw Acheng return.

“Mommy.” Xiaobao hugged her thigh: “Sleepy, I want to take a nap.”

They had run around outside by the river all day, and now that they had stopped, Little One was running out of steam.

“Co, to Daddy.” Acheng waved to Xiaobao.

“I want Mommy.” Gu Xiaobao, feeling sleepy, clung to Xiaofeng’s legs: “Mommy, I want you to hold while I sleep.”

Acheng looked at her.

Xiaofeng had no choice but to pick up Gu Xiaobao and embrace her: “Sleep then.”

The little girl was born fair and lovely, and though her clothes were quite dirty, it didn’t detract from her cuteness.

Nestled in Mommy’s arms, Gu Xiaobao drifted off to sleep not long after.

Seeing that Xiaofeng was not repelled by Gu Xiaobao’s closeness, Acheng picked up Gu Dabao: “Are you sleepy too? Want to nap?”

Dabao nodded and curled up in Gu Yecheng’s arms to sleep.

“Let’s put them on the bed to sleep for a bit. After running around all day, they must be tired,” Acheng said as he stood up to move towards the bedroom.

“Okay.” Xiaofeng also stood up.

Acheng laid down Dabao and went to take Xiaobao from Xiaofeng’s arms. Both children, deep asleep, behaved well even on the bed.

This was the first ti Xiaofeng looked so seriously at the boy and girl twins.

She had always refused to believe that her own children were already so big.

Looking at them, she saw Dabao was not as smiley but certainly sensible, and Xiaobao talked more and was quite perceptive, a real little person.

The most important thing was that they were her and Acheng’s children.

“Acheng,” Xiaofeng lowered her head, wanting to talk more with Acheng: “Auntie said that it was you who saved when I was injured, and then the two of us got together.”

The auntie had noticed she didn’t rember her past and had specially co over to chat, and with that talk, she learned a lot.

“It wasn’t from that mont,” Acheng looked at her, at the way she dared not look at him, and he would always rember another face.

These two faces, although identical, made him feel this way.

Before, when Xiaofeng spoke to him, she rarely bowed her head, always smiling and looking at him. This submissive deanor she was displaying now was sothing he had never seen before.

“Acheng, then please talk to about it, will you?” Xiaofeng lifted her head, making direct eye contact with Acheng for the first ti boldly.

“This matter, when spoken of, is a long story,” Acheng’s eyes softened as he rembered the past: “You saved , and not just once.”

The idea that she had saved Acheng sounded so miraculous to her.

“Big brother just asked to make a trip to the factory,” Acheng thought about kissing her forehead and telling her that their marriage had started with a deception.

But in the end, he did not do so: “You stay at ho and look after them; I’ll be back soon.”

“Okay,” Xiaofeng watched him approach, thinking he wanted to hug her, only to find she had thought too much.

Watching Acheng’s departing figure, Xiaofeng felt a sense of loss.

He always felt that Acheng wasn’t as affectionate towards her as when she had just woken up, when he called her ‘wife’ with every word, and his eyes and voice were full of care and love for her.

But now, that seed to be gone, as if he was deliberately keeping his distance.

So, did Acheng really despise the amnesiac her?

She let down the mosquito net, picked up a book, and sat at the head of the bed, reading intently.

At night, Ma Donghua made many dishes, not only for Acheng’s family but also inviting the third grand-uncle and aunt. The second grand-uncle, seeing his ho so lively, was suddenly filled with emotions.

A large family hadn’t been this lively in a long ti.

After dinner, Xiaofeng’s family was ready to return to town.

As soon as they reached the town, Gu Yecheng received a call from the Imperial Capital, saying that sothing had happened to the Gu Family.

“Alright, I’ll be right back.”

He was investigating case 319 and knew there would be an attack; now, it seed, the other party was indeed quick.

“What’s wrong, is there trouble in the Imperial Capital?” Su Peng asked, sensing sothing amiss in Yecheng’s tone.

“Mom, Dad, big brother, there’s an ergency in the Imperial Capital. I have to go back now. Xiaofeng and the twins will stay at ho. Once I’ve handled things in the Imperial Capital, I’ll co back for them.” There was an urgency in his voice that didn’t allow ti for a detailed explanation.

Listening to Yecheng’s words, Xiaofeng’s eyes imdiately dimd.

Her suspicion from the afternoon was correct; Acheng didn’t really want to be with her.

“Xiaofeng.” Acheng walked up to Xiaofeng, took her hand, and tried to explain: “Sothing happened at ho, and I must go back now. You wait here for , and I’ll co back for you.”

He called her Xiaofeng, not ‘wife.’

She looked down.

Acheng sighed softly as he pulled her into his embrace, regardless of who she ultimately was, she was his wife: “Stay ho and take care of yourself. I said I would co back, and I will. Don’t overthink it.”

He was waiting for the day she would rember everything.

Xiaofeng leaned into his embrace, her heartbeat quickening. This was the first ti she could clearly feel his scent enveloping her.

But her heart was still sour: “You must co back.”

“Okay.”

Acheng picked up Dabao and Xiaobao, instructing them to listen to their grandparents and take good care of their mother, among other things.

“Daddy, you should be careful too.” Gu Xiaobao wrapped his arms around his father’s neck: “We will miss you.”

Gu Yecheng quickly briefed Su Peng with a few words inside the house and then promptly began his hurried journey back to the Imperial Capital.

Guaizi sighed: “Every identity is not easy; just to be safe and sound is enough.”

“Acheng’s identity is there, so are his responsibilities,” Su Peng said, lifting Xiaobao: “Acheng will definitely co back safe and sound.”

It was only then that Xiaofeng belatedly realized: “Will his journey be dangerous?”

She couldn’t rember anything about his family background, and she seed never to have asked after waking up.
