Chapter 734: He didn’t call her his wife.
Ma Donghua was a crafty one, sharp as a monkey. Hearing Xiaofeng’s words, she knew there must be sothing fishy about her return.
Xiaofeng said she ca back to recuperate, but it wasn’t her brain that was injured, was it?
Within monts, countless thoughts had spun through Ma Donghua’s mind.
“Xiaofeng, Taozi really did you wrong, and her death is her retribution. Don’t take it too much to heart.” After so thought, Ma Donghua decided to drop this piece of news.
As she spoke, she watched Xiaofeng’s expression, hoping to confirm her guess.
Indeed, Xiaofeng looked utterly shocked upon hearing Ma Donghua’s words—dead?
How could it be? Such a young life, how could it just end?
“She…” Xiaofeng’s mouth moved, but in the end, she didn’t manage to ask anything.
Yes, her mories from the last year or two were completely gone, and a lot could happen in that ti.
“She brought it upon herself, no one else to bla. She saw your life getting better and felt unbalanced. In the end, maybe her mind couldn’t take it, and she chose a dead end.” Ma Donghua pursed her lips, feeling no pity for Taozi.
Really dead? Xiaofeng truly felt it was too unexpected; in her mind, the parting from Taozi was just a couple of days ago.
“Xiaofeng, you must have been seriously injured this ti. But it’s not a big deal; Acheng is an excellent doctor. As long as he’s around, you’ll definitely be fine. So you just rest up at ho, and I’ll be heading back now.” Ma Donghua, seeing the expression on Xiaofeng’s face, knew for sure Xiaofeng must have forgotten so things.
As to how much she had forgotten, she was still unsure.
Xiaofeng hadn’t yet recovered from the shock of Taozi’s death.
Aunt said that Taozi committed suicide because she was envious of my improving life and did sothing terrible.
How could that be?
My relationship with Taozi was so close, even if my life had improved, I definitely wouldn’t forget her. I would have surely helped her out.
Yes, it must be because of Acheng.
Taozi had secretly liked Acheng, but she never had the chance to get close to him.
Now that Acheng had married , it was natural for Taozi to harbor resentnt.
But it was too wrong for soone so full of life to choose such a dead end; what a pity.
When Ma Donghua returned ho, she found Su Guisheng resting at noon.
“Guisheng,” Ma Donghua whispered conspiratorially, “I’ve stumbled upon sothing huge.”
“What is it?” Su Guisheng, still sowhat drowsy, beca irritated at being woken by Ma Donghua.
“Xiaofeng seems to have amnesia,” Ma Donghua said softly.
“What?” Su Guisheng beca a bit more alert.
“Didn’t you say Xiaofeng was injured? I brought over more than twenty eggs to show so sympathy and told her to recuperate properly. But guess what she asked ?
“She asked what Taozi was doing and said she wanted to find Taozi. Geez, the incident with Taozi was such a big deal; others might not be clear about it, but how could Xiaofeng not know? The day big brother and his wife faced calamity, Taozi set up Su Peng. When that went south, Taozi ended up harming herself and was sent to the hospital. She barely lasted a few days after coming back from the hospital… She’d definitely know this. If she rembered, why would she ask like that? I bet she must have forgotten; otherwise, there’s no way she’d ask like that,” Ma Donghua ranted.
“You know, coming back this ti, I’ve had this gut feeling that sothing’s off with Xiaofeng; she talks less and hasn’t even visited the factory once. Now that you ntion it, I’m sure sothing’s up with Xiaofeng. If she weren’t amnesiac, why would she co back and not take a look at the factory?” Su Guisheng got the sense that Xiaofeng was off after Ma Donghua brought it up.
Because Xiaofeng was acting too unusual, as if she had beco another person.
“Don’t you think that Xiaofeng now and the Xiaofeng from before, when she and Taozi were close, seem alike?” They spoke in hushed tones, eyes darting around, avoiding direct contact.
“Now that you ntion it, there is so resemblance. But then again, even if she’s lost her mory now and forgotten so past events, she’s still Acheng’s wife and those factories are still hers. Don’t stir up trouble,” Su Guisheng cautioned, well aware of Xiaofeng’s significance after working in the factory for a year.
He instructed Ma Donghua to stay in line, even with Xiaofeng’s mory loss.
“Look at what you’re saying. I’m thinking that Xiaofeng’s amnesia might be a good thing. She might have forgotten so past events. If I spend more ti around her, maybe she’ll be grateful and take extra care of our family, right? Besides, our two kids will soon be finishing middle school. It’d be fine if they get into high school, but if not, we could ask Xiaofeng to take them to the Imperial Capital for a broader experience. Wouldn’t that be great?”
