Chapter 78: Marriage is Not a Woman’s Harbor

Kelly was hit by broken glass. She was not severely injured, but she was terrified and trembling after getting out of the car.

Abigail held her child, looking at Brandon Piers with a cold gaze.

Pullan asked soone to take Kelly to treat her wounds, while Abigail followed them with her child in her arms.

Sincere was a private hospital with attentive service. The Piers family also had shares in it. As soon as they entered, they were greeted by a specialist. Abigail knew him, but they were not from the sa departnt, so they were not familiar.

Seeing that Brandon Piers ca in person, the specialist displayed an unusually respectful attitude. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, he led them toward the pediatric departnt.

The hospital was clearly cleared out, with only dical staff coming and going.

Abigail walked in the familiar corridor with Teddy in her arms, looking at the familiar scenes and colleagues of the past, feeling a strange illusion of overlapping ti and space.

In her previous life, she devoted herself to her work, completing every surgery with all her might. Watching the lives she saved from the reaper’s hands gave her a peculiar sense of satisfaction.

At that ti, she had an assistant who got married and soon beca pregnant. Her face always carried a sweet smile, but as the pregnancy progressed, obesity, freckles, and stretch marks began to trouble her, making her emotions unstable, leading to mistakes even in basic work.

At that ti, Abigail was a proud person and couldn’t easily tolerate others making such foolish mistakes. She directly transferred the assistant to another departnt.

The next news she heard was that the assistant’s husband cheated during the pregnancy, and the assistant had a massive hemorrhage during childbirth, almost losing her life. The husband didn’t even co to the hospital.

Many in the hospital sighed over it. Abigail occasionally heard about it during the breaks between surgeries. It made her believe even more that won should be independent and n were the most unreliable beings on earth.

Marriage was by no ans a woman’s safe harbor.

But Abigail never thought she would reincarnate into soone she despised—those who were trapped by emotions, achieving nothing, depending on n, and lacking self-discipline.

Thinking about her current obese body and the situation she was in, the light in Abigail’s eyes grew colder.

If she had originally intended to leave Teddy with the Piers, trusting them to give Teddy a beautiful and safe childhood, today’s events gave Abigail a new resolution.

Rather than relying on others to give Teddy a wonderful childhood, she preferred to do it herself.

She inherited Abigail Green’s body and thus had the duty to protect her child.

Brandon Piers looked like a gentleman, considerate and thoughtful, but deep down, he was cold and ruthless.

How kind could a man be who used himself and a baby as bait?

Previously, she was really blinded by his prosperous beauty, leading her to believe he had genuine feelings for Teddy.

Thinking of this, Abigail held the little one in her arms tighter. When she looked up again, her peach blossom eyes showed more indifference as she steadily followed behind Brandon.

The old pediatrician assigned had been waiting for a long ti; it was Dr. Watson from the other day.

Teddy was still nestled in Abigail’s arms. Although he had stopped sucking on his pacifier, he clung tightly to her after being frightened. Abigail tried to hand him over to the pediatrician, but as soon as she was about to, the little one started crying loudly, refusing to leave her embrace.

Brandon’s amber eyes fell on Abigail, recalling the scene in the car when she fed the child. Although she claid it was just to appease the little one, the swallowing sound was too real. Was it really just to soothe Teddy?

He felt puzzled and deeply wanted to know the answer.

“Let do it,” Brandon suddenly said.

Abigail was slightly stunned and looked up at Brandon. This was the first ti she heard this man offer to hold Teddy.
