Chapter 385: Chapter 385: Can a Man Be Described as Cute?

Abigail was surprised, “She’s going to escape?”

No chance for an appeal for Rose Taylor?

“We just got the news. She extorted three million from Clark Stone and is already at the airport.” Brandon Piers speculated that Ruby Green must have realized she couldn’t file an appeal for Rose Taylor, so she decided to flee with the money.

“Inform Taylor’s parents. They should be the ones to chase her.” Compared to them, Taylor’s family would be more interested in catching Ruby Green upon hearing this news.

“Heh, already arranged. By the way, it’s been a month. You need to go for a check-up today.” Everything else was minor. His chubby baby’s check-up was the priority.

“My body’s recovery is pretty good.” Abigail was a doctor and aware of her own recovery process.

Brandon didn’t agree, “Each field has its expertise. I’ve already scheduled you an appointnt with a doctor.”

“Alright then.” Abigail thought about it and decided it was a good ti for a cervical screening.

“Okay.” Brandon said, standing up.

Abigail looked at him curiously, “Huh?”

“Don’t I need a check-up after surgery?” Brandon noticed her confusion and asked, quite discontented.

“Alright.” Abigail laughed.

Brandon was displeased, “Is that funny?”

“No, it’s very cute.” The more she got to know this proud man, the more adorable he seed.

Brandon, “…” What the heck is “cute”? Can a man be called cute?

Just as Brandon was about to express his dissatisfaction, his phone rang. He glanced at it and answered, then looked at Abigail, “I probably can’t go with you.”

“No worries, I’ve already completed your check-up.” Abigail finally heard this proud guy tell the truth and replied teasingly.

Brandon awkwardly scratched his nose, “Pullan, take Abigail to the hospital.”

“Yes, Second Young Master.” Pullan, standing at the door, received the order.

After Abigail left, Brandon picked up his phone again, “Since they’ve arrived in Gills City, don’t let them leave. Inform the police on that side. We’ll just assist.”

“Understood.” Kennan Max replied concisely.

As soon as Kennan Max hung up the phone, Kelvin Max’s number dialed in. The man responded in a deep voice, “Go ahead.”

“The third branch has made a move again. Thompson Taylor has been bailed out. They are secretly contacting the remaining three shareholders. Do you think we should also use force?” Kelvin Max’s refined face showed no hesitation when he ntioned using force.

“Keep an eye on their families. Don’t interfere otherwise.” Brandon instructed. These three were old shareholders of Piers, people his grandfather brought in. He didn’t want to use too tough a thod to upset the old man.

The older people get, the more sentintal they beco. Unless forced, he hadn’t planned to act yet, but he wouldn’t allow the third branch to ss around.

“But if they really side with the third branch, we’ll be in danger.” Kelvin Max was worried.

“Relax. Those who have stayed until now are all wise. They won’t easily pledge their allegiance. Have your people keep a close watch. Also, arrange for a return to the capital.” Brandon ordered calmly, thinking it was ti to return after being in Gills City for so long.

Kelvin Max listened and imdiately went to make arrangents.

But Brandon’s matters were far from over. Just after the call ended, a video conference was connected. The man expressionlessly answered it.

Garage.

Pullan handed the fully charged phone to Abigail, “Madam, is this your phone?”

The phone was picked up by Peter while cleaning the car. It was so old that no one knew whose it was. Pullan charged it but no one called, so he tried asking Madam.

“It’s mine.” Abigail was stunned, taking the phone. Last ti she parked, as soon as she got out, the man handed Teddy to her. Later, she breastfed and completely forgot about the phone. Now, receiving it from Pullan, she couldn’t help but lightly pat her forehead.

People say pregnancy makes you forgetful for three years. It seed to be starting now.

“It’s fully charged.” Pullan reminded.

Abigail thanked him, got into the car, and turned on the phone. It was an old Nokia with buttons. She awkwardly navigated it and first saw the email from the lawyer. Retrieving the password from mory, she discovered it was a fifteen-year-old account likely registered by Minnie Swift before she passed, maintained by Aunt Claudia, and later handed to Abigail.

However, Abigail clearly didn’t know much about this email’s purpose and almost never used it.

Opening the email, she reviewed the contract the lawyer sent, which matched the one Daniel showed her. She was ready to close the email when she noticed unread ssages from the sa sender below the advertisents.

Abigail was surprised. Did Minnie Swift or Abigail ever tell anyone about this email?

Curiosity led her to open the most recent one, sent five years ago when Abigail was fourteen, containing only one line, “Little Butterfly, where are you?”

As she read further, most of the emails asked why she hadn’t replied, hinting at worry. Even across the distance of ti, Abigail sensed the anxiety on the other end.

Abigail was puzzled. Did her forr self have an early romance?

Why did she have no mory of it?

She tried hard to recall but couldn’t rember any boy appearing in Abigail’s life at fourteen. Could it be a mistake?

Abigail shook her head, unbelieving.

The boy called her “Little Butterfly.” If she rembered correctly, Abigail once played QQ chat and her nickna was “Butterfly.” She wished to be beautiful and free like a butterfly. But after a fever, she woke up and stopped using it, becoming more reclusive and silent.

So this boy was likely soone Abigail t during that period, and they had an online romance?

“Ha.” Considering this possibility, Abigail chuckled softly, unsure how to feel. After so thought, she decided to reply. The boy seed genuinely concerned for Abigail from the emails.

He might have been the person who cared most for Abigail in her girlhood, apart from Aunt Claudia. She didn’t know if he still used the email after so many years, but she replied to close a chapter for her forr self.

She wrote, “I am Little Butterfly. Sorry for the late reply. I lost my previous contacts due to so incidents. I regret not responding sooner. Wish you a happy life.”

After sending, Abigail put away the phone.

In a cyber café in Gills City, Hughes’s email notification suddenly flashed. The young man frowned, sent Ruby Green’s travel route to Gordon, and looked at the old email.

He hadn’t used this email for a long ti. Still, old habits die hard, and he logged it in whenever using a computer. He usually received so advertising spam and thought today was no different. With rapid advancents in communication, few people used such old-fashioned emails.

Especially since he had already found Little Butterfly.

However, as he stood up, he couldn’t help but check the email, finding an unread ssage marked “Little Butterfly.”

Hughes’s hand froze. What was Ruby Green up to now?
