Chapter 384: Chapter 384: Selling the House to Raise Money
Ruby, although in a sorry state, still carried herself with the dignity of a rich lady. Despite their anger, the Taylors dared not do anything to her.
Especially when it involved their youngest son.
But how were they going to gather the money? Where could they find it?
Ruby didn’t believe it. “Hasn’t my mom given you enough over the years? How could there be no money?”
“We built the house in the old hotown and bought these two new ones. We’re not only out of money but unsure where next month’s mortgage will co from!” Fanny complained. She knew they shouldn’t have built the house in the old hotown. What good did it do after spending so much money?
Ruby was dissatisfied. “How much could it cost to build a house in the old hotown? Altogether, those two shabby houses are just 12 million. You didn’t pay in full, so how could you have no money?”
“The house in the old hotown also cost over 3 million,” Mrs. Taylor muttered.
“What did you say?” Ruby was furious. They spent over 3 million to build a house in that rundown place, as if they were building a palace?
But Ruby had no choice but to believe it. Fanny was already discontented. “I said we shouldn’t build such a good house in the old hotown, but you didn’t listen. Now we’re in trouble, and there’s no money, right?”
“Shut up. This is none of your business,” Mr. Taylor scolded.
“Why can’t I speak? Isn’t what I’m saying the truth? After all, I gave birth to twin sons for your family. Why can’t I speak? Now your son is in prison, and why can’t I speak?”
“You little bitch, my son has just gone to prison, and you want to turn the world upside down? See if I don’t scratch your face…”
“Old thing, if you dare, I’ll divorce and take my sons with right now!”
“I knew you were a faithless woman!”
“Ha, I’m faithless? And your son is any good? Eating, drinking, whoring, and gambling. Which of these doesn’t he do? Otherwise, we would have had enough to pay in full!”
“Ah, I’ll rip your mouth apart…”
Bang!
Ruby felt her head spinning. She smashed a porcelain cup from the coffee table in front of them.
Mrs. Taylor and Fanny were frightened and stepped back a few paces, while Mr. Taylor glared fiercely at Ruby.
Ruby didn’t care at all. “If there’s no money, then listen to . Let’s list a house for sale tomorrow and gather the money first.”
“What? This house cannot be sold!” Fanny exclaid.
“Then are you planning to let Uncle stay in prison?” Ruby had figured out Mr. and Mrs. Taylor’s weak spot and specifically ntioned Jackson’s situation.
“I…”
“Jackson can’t stay in prison. We must save Jackson!” Mrs. Taylor interrupted Fanny.
“Then what about Kenny and Danny? Why don’t you sell the old house…” Fanny was unwilling but could only shut her mouth when she saw her father-in-law’s gloomy gaze.
Mr. Taylor knew that if their daughter was sentenced and their son couldn’t be rescued, they wouldn’t even be able to repay the mortgage within three months, let alone keep the house.
So, saving their son was more important!
Ruby understood. “Then it’s settled.”
That night, Ruby listed a house, and since it was an urgent sale, the price was much lower than usual. By the next morning, soone was already inquiring.
Within three days, the house was sold.
After paying off the mortgage, Ruby got 3 million in cash.
Ruby promised the three that she would use this money to think of ways to help Rose and Jackson, but within less than thirty minutes, the money in her account was all deducted.
Seeing the ssage on the phone, Ruby almost went crazy. She hurriedly called the bank, only to be inford that due to the invalid contract with Clark, they had to return 60% of the amount to the Stones. According to the court’s ruling, large amounts would be deducted automatically to repay this debt.
Holding the phone, Ruby felt like she had fallen into an ice cave. But to avoid the Taylors’ suspicion, she forced herself to stay calm even though she was on the verge of collapse inside.
Fanny noticed Ruby’s strange behavior. “Ruby, can you handle it or not? If not, give us back the money!”
Those two old fools had gone crazy for their son, but she hadn’t.
“If I can’t, can you?” Ruby barely held up, threw a sentence at Fanny, and pretended to contact the lawyer.
Seeing this, Fanny said no more and waited on the side for Ruby’s result.
But Ruby had no way out. Her mind was filled with hatred for everyone. Just then, her phone beeped, and Ruby found an excuse to return to her room.
Opening the phone, she found it was Gordon’s reply. Her heart tightened with a hint of fevered excitent. “If you fail again this ti, don’t bla for being rude.”
“Add money.” The reply only had these two words.
“If the job is done well, I’ll add another 500,000.” Not to ntion 500,000, she didn’t even have 10,000. But Ruby’s desire for revenge overwheld everything else.
There was a long silence before a reply ca. “Deal.”
Ruby took a deep breath, thought about the deducted 3 million, and called Clark.
Clark was in a ss too. Exhausted and still bedridden from Pullan’s kick, he frowned when he saw Ruby’s call. Sensing her intention, he sneered and answered. “You still dare to call ?”
“Why wouldn’t I dare to call? My dear husband.” Ruby intentionally called him husband. This was the first ti she’d addressed Clark this way since they got the marriage certificate.
Clark was taken aback and then gritted his teeth. “What are you up to now?”
“What tricks can I play? I just want to discuss sothing. If you return the 3 million you just took from , I’ll divorce you imdiately.”
“Ha, are you dreaming? Give you 3 million at this point?” Clark sneered coldly.
“You sure? I rember when we got our marriage certificate, you didn’t sign any prenuptial agreent. If I insist on divorcing you, given your escapades, could I bite off a piece of the Stone family…?” Ruby suddenly gagged as she ntioned biting.
Clark was furious. “Bitch, you think I’m afraid of you!”
“If that’s not possible, then how about this? In 2013, you sold dical equipnt to the Second Hospital under false pretenses. Those were rejected, substandard products from a German hospital. The sa year, two people died on site due to defectiveness…”
“Shut up!” Clark couldn’t believe she knew about such a hidden matter.
“Three million. I want cash.”
Ruby hung up the phone after speaking. She then got up hurriedly, took a small bag, and started heading out. But Fanny grabbed her. “Where are you going?”
“Of course, to get the money and find the lawyer,” Ruby replied calmly.
Fanny was skeptical. “I’ll go with you.”
“Oh, okay.” Ruby knew Fanny wasn’t watching her but the money, so she agreed without hesitation.
An hour later, Ruby arrived at the place she agreed on with Clark to get the money. Fanny, seeing so much money for the first ti in her life, was stunned. Ruby seized the opportunity to knock her out.
The next mont, Ruby took the money and left the parking lot, hailed a cab. “To the airport.”
Brandon received news imdiately. Ruby was trying to escape.
