Chapter 369: Chapter 369: Why did he forget to love her afterwards!

Hospital.

Lincoln Green lay on the hospital bed, lifeless. He was a shadow of the spirited middle-aged man from the engagent party at the Piers’ a month ago.

Brandon Piers sat on the sofa with his legs crossed, looking at the lifeless man on the bed. “Finished talking?”

“Thank you, Second Young Master.” Lincoln Green’s voice was hoarse with gratitude.

After Abigail left that day, he fell into a deep depression, losing control of his emotions several tis, almost falling into shock, but he survived by clinging to a thread of life.

That thread was redemption.

He didn’t know if Abigail’s last words were true, or maybe he hoped they weren’t, but he knew everything else she said was true.

Over the years, in places he couldn’t see or had deliberately ignored, his daughter had suffered inhumane tornt; yet he had tried to absolve himself with a simple “I didn’t know.”

In the end, it was useless. Every word Abigail said seed etched into his mind. He couldn’t shake them off.

He unearthed these events from his mory one by one and found gaping flaws in the mother and daughter’s performances. Yet, why did he believe them?

Why?

Lincoln Green scread desperately in his heart, but it was useless.

Recently, he often dreamt of Abigail as a baby. Initially wrinkled, she gradually beca whiter and plumper, looking more and more like his wife.

As a child, Abigail was particularly delicate, always crying. She cried when she was hungry, tired, or needed to urinate. She was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck, and Minnie, with feeble strength, had taken twelve hours to give birth. Abigail imdiately went into an incubator due to aspiration of amniotic fluid.

At one year old, while other children were learning to walk, she still needed to be held constantly.

An eighty-centiter little one, with the scent of milk, would softly call out, “Dada… Dada…”

Unlike other children, her first word wasn’t “Mama” but “Dada.”

Eighteen years later, he thought he had forgotten those scenes, but realized recently that he hadn’t.

The ti spent with his daughter and wife, buried deep in his mory, surfaced. He rembered everything.

He even rembered the first ti he asured his daughter’s eyelashes.

But why, why did he later forget to love her!

Brandon Piers looked at the lifeless old man on the bed, mocking in his heart. “Had you known this day would co, why act so recklessly back then?”

Without Rose Taylor’s ruthless abandonnt and near-death shocks, would he have repented for Abigail’s words? Would he have made the sa decisions?

Who knows what might have happened!

“The drug test results are out. Your coronary heart disease was caused by long-term dication. The lawyer will explain the specifics. Don’t bother Abigail again unless you have more business.” Brandon Piers got up, coldly commanding.

“Second Young Master…” Lincoln Green softly called out as the dignified man was about to leave.

“Speak.”

Lincoln Green knew he was long unqualified. He knew that girl might not even be his daughter, but he couldn’t help but gently instruct, “If… I an if, please treat Abigail well.”

“Rest assured, I’m not you. I can keep a wife and take care of a daughter.” Brandon Piers coldly retorted.

Lincoln Green’s face visibly turned paler, more lifeless than before.

Leaving the room, Kelvin Max had already brought the lawyer. “Second Young Master, everything is arranged. Any other instructions?”

“Leak this to the dia.” The man slightly curved his lips, leaving this order.

Kelvin Max watched the Second Young Master’s back, raised an eyebrow, and said to the lawyer beside him, “Please, go inside.”

anwhile, a Green family servant hiding in the dark tried to turn away, only to bump into an unremarkable man. Before she could scold him, her mouth was covered.

When she woke up again, she saw another colleague confined with her. Her face turned pale, body shivering, “Help!”

At Green’s Mansion, Rose Taylor was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, waiting for news. Her people had been out for a day without any reports.

She still didn’t know which law firm Lincoln Green had contacted or what evidence he held.

The ones she sent were useless, unable to find out anything!

“Mom!”

Just as Rose Taylor was at her most agitated, Ruby Green scread, “Mom!” startling Rose Taylor, who shouted back, “What are you doing? Trying to scare to death?”

“Mom, that old bastard Lincoln Green exposed the divorce to the dia!” Ruby Green shouted angrily.

“What?” Rose Taylor took Ruby’s phone, nearly fainting at the headline.

The phone’s title glaringly read, “Forr Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Chairman Critically Ill, Culprit Might Be His Wife from Taylor Family, Now Boss Green Filed for Divorce!”

“Shocking, forr Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Chairman’s Wife from Taylor Family Attempted Murder for Property, Forensic Exam Found Chronic Poison in His Blood!”

“So-called Angel, Expose of the Vile Dirt on Has-been Star Ruby Green’s Evil Deeds, Mother Fights for Property, Poisoning Husband!”

“…”

More unbearable headlines followed, leaving Rose Taylor and Ruby Green standing stiffly.

They didn’t expect Lincoln Green to go to such extres this ti!

“No, I need to ask that old bastard what he wants. This isn’t a divorce—it’s a death sentence for us!” Rose Taylor cursed, heading out.

But only then did she realize the driver was at the hospital watching Lincoln Green, leaving no one to drive.

Hesitating, Johnson suddenly appeared, “Madam, Miss, I’ll take you.”

Rose Taylor glared at Johnson but didn’t refuse. However, Ruby Green, sitting in a wheelchair, looked unhappy, “I don’t want him.”

“Ruby, now’s not the ti for a tantrum. We…”

“Is what the news says true?” While Rose Taylor was persuading Ruby, the Stone family rushed in.

“What’s true?” Rose Taylor imdiately changed her expression, smiling innocently.

Usually, Rose Taylor despised Mrs. Stone, and vice versa. Seeing her still denying the news, Mrs. Stone scoffed, “The news reported it. How could you not know?”

“In-law, what do you an? What should I know?” Rose Taylor glanced at her watch, “Sorry, it’s almost alti. I need to take my husband’s al. You know he can’t do without and loves my cooking.”

Saying that, Rose Taylor moved to get in the car. Ruby Green, too, didn’t dare say more, glaring at the thin and dark Johnson, “Help in.”

Johnson hurriedly helped Ruby into the car with care.

Mr. and Mrs. Stone were puzzled, thinking, Could the news be false?

But Clark Stone’s eyes were on the empty hands of the mother and daughter, “Wait!”
