Chapter 211: Chapter 211: Want to Return to Swallow City Imdiately
“Lawyer Jones?” Abigail Green waved her chubby little hand.
Benjamin Jones ca back to his senses. His gaze at Abigail Green grew more inquisitive. He began to sowhat believe her words. Could it be that she really had lived with Abby for so ti?
Otherwise, how could there be so many similarities in their living habits?
“Oh, the court is in session at ten o’clock on the morning of the twenty-eighth. Rember to attend,” Benjamin Jones said, lowering his gaze.
“Thank you, Lawyer Jones. I’ll pay your legal fee according to the market rate.” Abigail expressed her gratitude.
Benjamin glanced at her. “No need. You are her friend.”
“It’s different.” Abigail felt even more guilty, but there was no way she could tell Benjamin Jones that her soul had traversed into this overweight body.
Especially knowing that he was a firm materialist, he might very well suggest she stay at the best ntal hospital in the country.
“By the way, how were her final days?” Benjamin Jones ignored Abigail’s words and instead asked on his own.
Abigail naturally knew whom he was asking about and sighed lightly, “Very busy.”
Indeed, in the previous life, apart from ‘very busy,’ Abigail could not find a more suitable word to summarize her life.
Benjamin Jones was stunned for a mont upon hearing this. He finally believed that the person before him truly was Abby’s friend.
However, he felt even more sorrowful inside. Yet, his cold and stern face showed little expression. He nodded restrainedly, “Thank you.”
After saying the farewell, he turned around elegantly. Abigail wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but she felt that Benjamin Jones, who had always been cold and aloof, seed sowhat desolate from his back.
She felt stifled, “Hey…”
“Hmm?” Benjamin turned back.
Abigail opened her mouth, “Grand… How is Grandpa Smith?” After she finished speaking, she realized her current identity seed unqualified to ask such a question. She smiled awkwardly, “I used to hear Dr. Smith ntioning it, so I wanted to ask.”
“He’s already fine.” Benjamin seed a bit absent-minded and didn’t notice anything wrong. He just thought Abigail Green was concerned about Grandpa Smith out of respect for Abby.
But his answer made Abigail’s heart skip a beat. What did he an by ‘already fine’?
Did that an there was an issue before? But was it because of her passing, that her grandfather was too shocked and had ntal issues, or was it physical problems caused by the stimulus? Abigail wanted to ask Benjamin Jones more, but he had already left.
She stood sowhat dazed in the café, with her mind filled with images of her grandfather.
Since her rebirth, there had been no end to matters around her, from having a baby to several confrontations with the Taylor mother and daughter, dealing with Clark Stone, and finally, muddle-headedly becoming Brandon Piers’s fiancée. She hardly had ti to think about her past life.
She had indeed thought that her grandfather would be very sad upon hearing about her sudden death, but she never dared to think deeply, let alone face it.
But Benjamin Jones’s words reminded her that the impact of her death on her grandfather was fatal. To what extent was he “already fine?” Would there still be issues in the future?
Suddenly, Abigail felt she couldn’t stay in Gills City for another mont and wanted to go back to Swallow City to see her grandfather imdiately.
But…
Teddy’s pair of dark, shiny eyes flickered in her mind. If she went to Swallow City now, what would she do with Teddy? And she didn’t have a proper reason.
Especially since she had just gotten engaged to Brandon Piers.
Restless.
Abigail pressed her temples. This was the first ti she felt unrest that she couldn’t control since her rebirth.
At this mont, a cup of hot coffee splashed toward her unprepared.
Abigail felt a burning sensation on her neck and was jolted awake. She looked dangerously at the person in the wheelchair a ter away, “Are you looking for death?”
