Shi i wanted to laugh, but what curled up at the corners of her lips was a bone-chilling sneer.
It was just the beginning now.
One day, she would make him suffer even more.
-
Shi Lingyan had gone on a business trip.
After being forced by the old man to "share a room" with Shi i for several days, he finally found a perfect excuse and made his escape.
Three days later, at Giant Bar.
This was the bar Tang Wu and Ye Tiao had opened together before Tang Wu’s death.
Tang Wu invested, and Ye Tiao managed the place.
As Tang Wu always liked to co here, many fans hoped to "bump into" their idol at this spot.
Maybe, if they were lucky, they would catch Tang Wu in a good mood, and she would go up and sing a few tunes.
The bar was usually packed.
However, since Tang Wu’s death, business had declined quite a lot.
Now, due to its location and because Ye Tiao was unwilling to exploit her late friend’s na to heat up business, revenue was less than a quarter of what it used to be, almost to the point where expenses exceeded inco.
A few sparse tables of patrons were playing drinking gas; the singer on stage sang listlessly to a practically nonexistent audience, occasionally glancing down at the ti, waiting to leave as soon as the clock struck the hour.
Just as he had taken his eyes off his watch, he suddenly saw a woman walk through the door.
She was dressed simply in white clothes and black pants, carrying with her a breezy aura from afar.
Despite her plain attire, she exuded an extraordinary aloofness that made her glow.
Just standing there simply was enough to attract many gazes, becoming the focal point on her own.
Sure enough, the few patrons previously imrsed in their own worlds now turned to look at her.
The singer, who had been lackluster monts before, suddenly gathered his energy and sang with deep emotion.
The atmosphere in the room shifted.
Everyone watched her as she walked to a brighter area inside the venue before they realized she was wearing a mask.
The mask was a deep, dark black, covering most of her face, revealing only her small, bright red lips.
"Underneath that mask, there must be a beauty."
Soone comnted, and many nodded in agreent.
A man could no longer hold back and, picking up his glass, approached her, "Beauty, are you alone?"
The beauty finally looked over.
Her rosy, plump lips curved slightly in a smile that was not quite a smile.
Beneath the large mask, even the shape of her eyes was unclear.
Yet those eyes seed to be tempered with light, flickering with bits of laughter, brilliantly illuminating him.
The man felt a sudden rush of heat in his heart.
One glance, and his heart was lting!
A top beauty!
Definitely a beauty!
The man was about to say sothing else, but soone pressed down on his shoulder.
Looking up, Ye Tiao was there with a cigarette dangling from his lips, his eyebrows raised as he looked at him with a rascally expression, "You’re in my spot."
When Shi i looked up and saw Ye Tiao, her heart fluttered slightly.
Three years had passed, and Ye Tiao’s waist-long hair was gone.
In its place was a haircut not even as long as a finger.
The sides behind her ears were shaved to stubble, and her bangs made her look spirited.
Dressed in a simple black leather jacket, a cigarette between her fingers, and her foot propped on a stool, she looked nonchalantly at the man before her.
Ye Tiao, who didn’t know her?
The man gave a smile, "Boss, I was here first."
"This is my girlfriend," Ye Tiao exhaled a ring of smoke, her face wearing a smile though the dangerous ssage was clear, "Did you ask before hitting on her?"
